But you're giving your own twist right there -- claiming to know what AMD would or wouldn't put on a slide. I do not comprehend why you're splitting hairs over someone else doing the same thing, and arguably they are sticking closer to the numbers we have while you are speculating why the numbers aren't as accurate as your head-sales.
Difference is that I'm clearly saying, in my opinion and not telling it as if it's the gospel. Like I said, it doesn't make sense in both directions.

Non-sequitur. It's just as clear that people for some weird reason want Xbox to sell more because of some weird affiliation toward Microsoft. That has no bearing on the substance of our conversation.

I think the logic is pretty straightforward:

If Sony sold 110+ million (pretty reasonable considering they sold 108.9 million more than two months ago),
and if AMD is telling the truth about selling over 150 million between the two platforms,
then the Xbox One sold 40 million, or thereabouts.

Like I mentioned before, it's possible AMD sold 151 or even 156 million, but the only way for Xbox One to be at 50 million would be if AMD sold over 160 million units. I'm not saying I am correct. Perhaps I am leaving out very important data, but the logic is sound if this is the info we're working with.
I agree, that it can go both ways, and that we just don't know. And sure for you the logic can be sound, I'm pretty sure there are a lot of other people that will say your logic is yours, and as long as we don't have actual numbers it's purely your logic and guess work.

That's not how logic works. You can point out where my logical conclusion is incorrect or if I am missing data (which I offered), but that doesn't mean the logic is "mine". It's just logic. It's not even logic. It's very basic arithmetic.

150-159m AMD units sold minus 110m Sony units equals 40-49m Xbox units, tops. That's actually being generous to Microsoft because we assume PS4 has only sold 1 million worldwide in 2 months, which would be quite low for the brand.

You are welcome to offer an alternative explanation. I'm not interested in opinion when we have numbers to work with. If you have facts to substantiate your opinion, please share them. I would like to learn.

You are making the assumption that if the number would be 160, that AMD would actually put 160 on the slide deck, because you believe that they have to for their shareholders. While I agree that AMD has to be honest towards shareholders, it is still your assumption that this cutoff is per tens (150, 160, 170, etc.). So your logic is only correct based on that assumption.

I'm saying we don't have the right numbers to work with since Microsoft doesn't want to share them.

Ah, so you resort to "well we don't really know anyway" when asked to substantiate your own claims.

It is reasonable to assume that when they say 150 million, it's probably close to 150 million instead of 160 million. You don't fudge a 7% difference.

151 or 152 or even 155 million is possible, but in business and marketing you use "over x,xxx, xxx" when you are barely over that number and you use "nearly x,xxx, xxx when you're a few percentage points away from the higher, rounder number. Surely AMD could be bucking the trend but it doesn't appear to be the case, nor do they have any reason to do so.

Pretty much.

Sony knows what they're doing and the most logical reason for Sony to remain silent is because they are merely waiting for the right timing as they get games ready to be shown.
They always do this and it is plain stupid to think otherwise.
Exactly, you want to talk about hardware without games, it's a concerning sign tbh.....Best way to show specs is through the games, through the devs…….

I bet you when people saw Shadowfall and DC for the first time at PS4's spec reveal, they were blown away......These are great looking games to this day, with graphical features many games in their genre still don't match.....It's really how you sell the specs instead of just oogling over the raw e-spec peen....

Lol I remember clearly that a majority of gaffers at the time were dead certain that the reveal trailers for Killzone and Infamous were CGI and in no way possible on PS4s "obsolete hardware".
Then the final version of both actually exceeded the reveal footage.

That's how you do proper reveals. Nintendo does this as well.
MS keeps talking about non-gaming features mostly and granted, they have a couple of capable studios now, but nothing that has been proven yet.

Not to forget that MS has the tendency to hook people early on and gradually neglect the games again.

What claim of mine? Read what I've been saying. It's +41mil... It can be 42, 45, 50, 60, 234124234. It's just more than 41, never said anything else.

Yeah you can assume that, like I said you were making assumptions, and it wasn't pure logic and numbers.

Microsoft is loud because they're trying to hide their farts' noise.
Sony is not farting, that's why it's silent.

Do you have official sales data for both? Just curious about this last sentence about PS4 Pro vs Xbox One X 🤔?

Are you curious about that last sentence? The Xbox One X being ahead of the Pro in the US was covered on this board and plenty of articles on it. I find it strange people are forgetting that.

The XBONEX only outsold the PRO in it's launch month, (US. Only)...

It launched in Nov 2019, a lot of the recent news articles are from 2018, how are you getting it only outsold it on lunch month? The spin doesn't even make sense.

Again.

The PS4 PRO is a nice complimentary niche high powered PS4.

the Xbox One X is also that in some areas, but also in other areas is basically the Xbox One and the S barely has a presence. Like life-extention. So considering the Xbox One X is more depended on than the PS4 Pro is in multiple markets it shouldn't be surprising to expect the possibility that WW the Xbox One X is ahead.

Not even by that much either both aren't setting the shelves on fire until they are $199 or less anyway).

XBOX fans just believe in the hardware without the games.....So much talk on hardware and so little on games......Says something, because I'm just going to look at the Series X spec list all gen long....

Really? you're bunching up every Xbox fan based on your own anecdotal experience? Xbox fans also care about games. You might not be interested in franchises like Halo, Gears, Forza, etc., but MS also invested on new studios precisely to add more franchises to the list, and lets not forget that XSX will also have the best version of multiplatform games on consoles, this is especially important for people who rather invest that way rather than upgrade their PCs.

Turning Mark Cerny into a meme for his work on the PS4's superiority only mattered when the PS4 was the most powerful, suddenly none of that matters because we suspect XSX might have the marvelous engineering that Cerny was praised for this current gen :goog_unsure:

Botton line is, there's nothing wrong with Xbox fans being excited over Xbox Series X hardware potential. Saying Xbox fans only care about the hardware makes you look foolish and insecure, you need to stop that crap of insinuating Xbox has no games. Hellblade 2 looks pretty fucking amazing and I'm sure fans are excited about Project Mara and playing the new Halo Infinite, Gears or Forza at their full glory on XSX, not everyone has a capable PC to match XSX or even cares for gaming on one.

or they could announce horizon for PC, which is what they just did. Perfect timing. 😂👍

anyway. I think Sony will reveal everything shortly before it will get released. Maybe like apple does? New strategy? Who knows?!

Meanwhile, everybody is focused on Sony once again, as well as PS5.
Because of a 3 year old game.
With rumors of Horizon Zero Dawn 2 being announced exclusively for PS5 and Hulst stating that they are still 100% commited to dedicated hardware and exclusives.

So not really sure what you're getting at.

Mind linking them again please? It is not like we have monthly or yearly sales data from MS :/...

Yeah and people are super happy about that, especially the Sony community.

What articles? There are no concrete articles that XBONEX outsold PRO in it's launch month, but I am willing to believe that it outsold PRO in November of 2017, since it was a new product going against a 1 year supply constrained PS4 PRO.....I mean if it didn't XBOX's situation would be deemed even more dire, but I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt there......As for worldwide sales XBONEX has no chance vs PRO......,

All of these franchises Halo Gears Forza has gotten worse......Forza 5,6.7 cant hold a candle to Forza 4, Gears has no spirit and Halo is dead......I saw no reboots to any of those franchises.....That Hellblade 2 showing was simply a movie and for guys who are disingenuous about calling Sony games movies, your'll sure do like to praise a 1600p 23.976fps movie all of a sudden.....You can be excited over your hardware that's fine but you don't play specs, you play games.....

I've been a multi console owner since the ps2 ,GameCube and Xbox. I will again be purchasing both consoles i prefer Playstation single players gamers and I play mostly multiplayer gamers on my Xbox. BOTH companies make great games. It all depends what type of games your into. And both companies need some new experiences imo
