Besides the pronunciation of a few names, I'd also so it's just as good as Persona 4's if not better, which is really surprising to me because I thought the English clips sounded like shit at first.

The english clips all did a really huge disservice to a pretty fantastic cast. A lot of the character trailers appear to take dramatic moments from totally different scenes with wildly varying tone and placed them back to back over totally unrelated shots. It makes the performance feel really off and strangely discordant.

In context, they're great.

Yusuke in particular sounds really bad out of context -- which was surprising, given Mercer's usual output -- but I've enjoyed his arc a lot so far. Obviously it's fine and even to be expected if people prefer the original Japanese voices, but don't let the presentation of the English voices in advertising color your opinion of what is actually very good work.

Persona 4 Golden didn't get any mixed or negative reviews out of all 61 added to Metacritic, so here's to hoping this goes the same way.

I guess you're right, even Zelda got two 6s, so anything is possible. -However P4G didn't get a single score below 8.

Just keep your expectations in check and don't expect Yosuke and Kanji tier voice acting from this game.

That's so good to hear! I'd really enjoyed the P3/P4 dubs, and was getting a bit nervous how off P5's dub was sounding in trailers and clips, especially after the quality level from the games that had come before.

I will really miss Morgana with the dub, though, her Japanese voice is so distinctive - guttural and scratchy, yet kinda cutesy all at once.

Yeah, but here we have direct lines that we can compare between JP version and dub. For instance, the "whole world is waiting to see phantom thieves next move" was featured in PV4 as well, and the Japanese version sounds very different form what you hear in dub.

I was wondering why people were hating on Morgana's dub voice because I looooove Morgana. Probably my favorite out of the dub along with Ryuji, at least so far. But knowing now that it's Ikue Otani in Japanese, I get it. That's hardly fair, though. Morgana's dub voice is terrific when taken on its own merits.

Interestingly enough I was talking to couple people at work who are usually just play sports/action/shooter games and they were asking about P5. It surprised the hell out of me.

I think gamekult and AOTF are. Not sure about the others. My game shipped, amazing that this is the highest rated PS4 game this year and second highest rate PS exclusive of all time! Only topped by TLOU.

Brain fart! I knew UC2 was higher but forgot. Didn't know LBP was so high! Truly an era of another time. A game like LBP would never get such a high rating now days. I don't see dreams ever getting that high.

Ah sorry you're right, I was remembering this thread and the videos inside, but they never outright said it.

What a shame, the game obviously doesn't NEED it but it would have been more fluid, I wonder if they'll be able to get the PS3 emulator one to 60.
