Woot! Up to 79% now! One of the few movies that go up as general release date approaches and well deserving. It IS better than Age of Ultron.

If I remember correctly, it is actually the reporter
who says that "they now have a bit of everything everywhere" including a guy "that swings and clings to walls." Falcon then says "na, I'm looking for a guy that shrinks."

What TV show is this?
It's a sequence that happens at the tail-end of The Avengers.
Basically, Fury's superiors attempt to end the invasion by launching a nuclear missile at Manhattan, despite Agent Hill & Fury's orders. Tony intercepts the missile and takes it through the wormhole toward the Chitauri fleet. The missile detonates & destroys the mothership, but Stark's suit runs out of power & causes him to free fall through the wormhole just as Black Widow closes it. The Hulk saves him from crashing to the ground, and after removing his suit's mask, Tony suggests having dinner at a shawarma restaurant he saw earlier in the battle.
It was a parody of the criticisms saying that The Avengers resembled a tv production.

Want this movie to do good but looking at local theatres this has to be one of the worst midnight screenings for a marvel movie. I would say about 90% of seats are available for Thursday showings which is unusual for my area (socal)

I loved Ant-Man, but I do think that it will do worse than most Marvel movies at the box office, hope I'm wrong, but will pick up with word-of-mouth over the rest of the summer. There are no more big blockbusters left this year until winter, so it has room to grow through the rest of July and August.
Only Fantastic 4 left, but we all know how that's going and it doesn't come out until first weekend of August.
EDIT: Dang, forgot Mission Impossible 5 is out on the 31th. Not THE biggest blockbuster ever, but it could dampen any momentum Ant-Man gets in the coming weeks.

I'm watching the movie in 3.5 hours. Pretty damn hyped. In 3D too, I hope the 3d is good. I don't usually watch in 3d, had to convince my friend to go 3d for this one. They'll blame me if the 3d turns out bad .

My group is doing the 3D as well since it's the only available late show for us. I could see it working really well for the film if done right. There aren't a lot of movies I like in 3D but I really hope this one of them.
The action looks so uninspiring and the ending is so bad. I am not sure if that character is supposed to be funny.

This. While I see it doing around $65 million on its opening weekend, positive word-of-mouth will likely carry it through the rest of the summer with minimal drops.

370 Million is pretty damn good when you only have a couple semi big actors in the film. Chris evans wasn't even that big actor wise at the time. Captain America also was up against harry Potter, shitty green lantern, among other films.
Antman doesn't have as much competition right now at the box office.

I'll give you Thor, as that movie didn't do so well domestically. But world wide and it's sequel did much better. And your not accounting Bluray sales either. Which also contributes to the films success.

Mainly because I like Hulk more.
But anyway, yea ant-man will be fine. It's smaller film, being marketed as such, and being more family friendly might help it. Marvel's expectations for the film are not the same as Age of Ultron or Guardians.
Dude have you seen what this movie is even about, have you listened to what reviewers are saying? It's not about high octane action, it doesn't even have a lot of action, it's mostly a heist film with a cool view of a microverse, which hasn't been touched on since Honey I shrunk the Kids.
It's actually more of a family film, and from what I hear really funny.
Seriously if you don;t like these type of movies stay out of the threads? I like many other;s in here love these movies mainly because I grew up reading the source material. We love that small character's like ant-men are getting their own spotlight which has been way over due.
These movies speak to our inner kid, sorry you don't like the medium.
Eh, I just wanted to be a part of the conversation.
I found Michael Peña to be one of the funniest characters in the film. That final scene is much funnier within the context of the film.

I Agree 100%, Many people speak of Marvel Fatigue and its a valid complaint, but just simply don't go see them, don't think about them. just forget them. constant moaning in marvel threads just makes for a bad experience all around, as repetitive as these films can be many people still enjoy them now, and will enjoy them for years to come. its that simple

He is right though-this is your shtick. It's not effective anymore. This is why comedians have to keep coming up with new routines so their audiences don't get tired of the same jokes.

Yeah, Marvel doesn't expect this to be another Guardians, but their only problem could be the industry and public's expectations for Marvel movies in general, especial since this is their last movie before DC fully launches their own Cinematic Universe in 2016. If it doesn't even do Cap 1 and Thor 1 level of performance, it could be a tough publicity ride for them until Civil War comes out. Or until the first trailer for Civil War comes out, and then that movie will have to meet or surpass expectations in order for Marvel to stay ahead of the curve against DC.
Good news is that Phase 3 looks like it will really revitalize the MCU, with Dr. Strange, Black Panther, Cap. Marvel, Spider-Man and so on, and even Ant-Man. I know it's Phase 2 technically, but it does feel like the start of a new phase in many parts, and it is indeed a perfect close to Phase 2.
But whatever, I loved Ant-Man.
