The problem I have with them constantly doing SF4 updates is just HOW MUCH of the game can they really change up with the engine and style they are going for with SF4 without just changing things for the sake of changing things and ruining characters or the game.

Yeah- balance updates are all well and good, but change for the sake of change is stupid.

Between SF5, Last Guardian, and FF15, which is gonna come out first....
none of them will come out before 2016

That's what Omega Mode is for! :)

I find it funny ArcSys is going to be keeping 3 games updated and rolling out new versions/sequels, and capcom is stuck only doing SF4 :p

i really do wonder what makes this (having 3 active fighting game franchises out) a good investment for arcsys and a bad investment for capcom...someone explain.

its a bummer because they are sitting on the ultimate goldmine of FG ip's and it seems like there is absolutely no chance of them ever being resurrected. would not be surprised to see an all SF future from them.

I suspect the rebalance will be a relatively light touch for most characters. Most are in a really good spot right now, and it's really more an issue of fixing the Dee Jays while trimming a little of the BS off where it needs to be trimmed. (Oh hi there Rush Punch)

How is he gonna get in though?

Damn, you hit the nail on the head, really. I always liked the old analogy of them fiddling with knobs and then seeing what happens. Not bad in concept, necessarily, but as we've all seen can sterilize a product if too frequent or over too long of a period of time.

Even when you hear the devs talk about USFIV, that's exactly the reasoning alongside having something to wave around for the Pro Tour and eSports investors. If not halfhearted, it always feels like they're caught between not being able/wanting to support a game with a more fluid model and not being able to work on anything else. I wonder how much they trimmed the overall team going from SFxTK to USFIV. Sad state in general.

Probably a longshot, but does anybody here play arcana heart? I recently purchased Love Max and am having some trouble with a few of the system mechanics, mainly the homing cancel. If theres anybody who is playing please let me know.

Is there anything specific you're having an issue with? The thing that gave me trouble initially (and still kind of does) is that the stick direction you are holding will influence your positioning after the homing cancel. A lot of combos will require you to homing in a specific direction, or it won't work.

That was it, ha now the bnbs I'm trying with Weiss are a lot easier. Thank you.

Capcom wants that dota2 swag. Shake up the game to keep it interesting.

Too bad most fg players hate this and want to explore the nooks.

I think underneath the top level people like new toys. They'll get pushback when they do their usual introduce random nerfs though.

The exploration phase of a game's metagme is generally the most popular. Title updates help recreate that to a degree, even though it's iterative.

I think the community is ready for it, they just don't know it yet because they're not playing KI or IGAU.

That said, I think a lot of the points brought up in the article I posted on the other page are still valid. I think juggling major updates and minor ones is a good way to go, like TF2 and KI, with DotA's monetization model.

I think top level players enjoy new toys too.

More Ultra updates are expected. They will milk the game until the next big release which is still far away. Right now I care more about fixing the netcode for PC.

Anybody want to play?
