What I'm saying is that Microsoft had to make decisions about the future of Xbox as part of the process of closing the largest tech deal in history. They didn't buy ABK for $70b and then suddenly realize after closing that Xbox and Game Pass numbers weren't where they needed to be. They didn't try a Hail Mary of dumping as much of the ABK catalog as possible onto Game Pass to try to win the holiday. They knew then that this was the path they were going because they knew there was no way Xbox alone could sustain the revenue stream they were buying.
When bumped up against the histrionics of the past week it could seem like underselling what's happening, but I don't think it is. I think the writing was on the wall the whole time.
“Truths”Microsoft: "Fortunately we have a place for people who aren't able to harsh truths about the Xbox brand, it's called ResetERA"
Rocky 5?
Podcast either means it's not as big as people were making out or... they want people to not feel like it is a big deal.
So you want people to be banned for reacting to a all the external leaks, because they are negative to a brand you like?Agreed. And I don’t see what the problem is with any of it… People just got giddy and thought the sky was falling (which upset some and excited others).
I’m hoping to hear news of XCloud coming to more devices (Apple TV app please, and expand beyond the newer Samsung TVs) and getting beefed up a bit, or news on the Ubisoft cloud deal, which has been really quiet, along with the ABK to Game Pass news that hasn’t materialised yet.
I think they’ll expand on a leadership reshuffle too.
Hopefully once it’s out in the open people here will calm the fuck down a bit, or at lease get moderated a bit more strongly. Been a complete anti Xbox shitshow on here the last week - painful to read

I mean... It started on a Mac...Halo Infinite on Playstation would be a big shock, regardless of the games quality it would be nuts seeing Halo on any other platform.
TimDog cousin.I wonder how many freakouts like this we will see: https://www.reddit.com/r/ImTheMainCharacter/s/PFes4UnbSd

Honestly, it was much what you're seeing now with this multiplatform rollout for Xbox.what was the tactic specifically at the time for that? I wasn't around on forums much at that time.
*knock! knock! knock!* Hey...keep it down out there! Some of us are trying to rest in peace!
Third time that P. Spencer has "liked" a Tweet that affirms or supports the arrival of an XBOX handlehad.... Something tells me that the announcement of an "Xboxdek" is beginning to be more plausible.
Personally I think it should be born with the same idea as Steamdek if It want succes.
An Xbox OS but running under Windows where you can activate Steam, apps emulators.... Also crossbuy with XSS and XSX. That is, share a catalog.
Among other things, also because it would be the type of hardware that could most easily and quickly be made available on the market.Absolutely. I think that an Xbox handheld would be a brilliant move. Just hope they are allowed to more tightly integrate Windows for the handheld form factor. I'd be onboard day one for that.
maybe they backtracked on that? I thought doritos pope was going to be the hostWhere is the Xbox Business Showcase?
All I’m seeing is a podcast
Yes I agree. Phil and his cronies dont give a rats ass sadly. He sheepishly tweeted last week and made everyone wait and then today he makes sure to make people wait even more til the 15th. This podcast is just a way for him and his two lackeys to not have to show their faces. Sad and so shady but should be no surprise to anyone. MS management are pathetic and this whole week long debacle proves it. Whatever they spew i’m sure it won’t make to many hardcore xbox fans very happy. I could be wrong but we will see. Either way trust has been completely shaken or lost by many and it’s their own fault.A podcast?
Zero respect shown.

Actually he has a lot to do with them not shutting it down earlier so he does have some say soPhill Spenser has a lot of stroke but it’s not his right to determine the fate of the XBOX.
There is an official xbox podcast, maybe thats it. The one Larry Hryb used to host, but they changed things up a bit. With guests in the studio. Like the one belowWhere is the Xbox Business Showcase?

you are right about people forgetting because I don't remember any drama about the PC initiative.Honestly, it was much what you're seeing now with this multiplatform rollout for Xbox.
At that E3 (2015), they started the initiative by masking the bad news (increased PC support) with good news (Backwards Compatibility coming to Xbox One). In the beginning, PC support went from Win10 with some Steam releases here and there, and as the back catalog that Xbox had at that time hit the Win10 store, they increased the porting efforts to Steam as the years ticked by, especially after Game Pass happened in 2017/2018. From there, delayed ports to Steam went from uncommon to day & date releases.
You're going to see much of the same strategy here - reassurance that the hardware position is not going away or changing, with some announcements for it. You'll likely hear Spencer and Co. try to assure folks that focusing on exclusives for the platform is still a priority for Xbox, but with time and success in this multiplatform release schedule, you'll see the things go increasingly day 1 multiplat, until folks completely forget it was ever a debate on what the strategy would be. This is text-book MegaCorp PR.

Other than the fact a lot of the OG rumours have already come true, do you really think that many of the Xbox influencers would jump ship so fast, who are in regular discords with those in the know?Agreed. And I don’t see what the problem is with any of it… People just got giddy and thought the sky was falling (which upset some and excited others).

Failing up is a common theme.I bet Matt is getting a promotion, he’s such an asset to the company.

No not at all. He’s just the CEO of Xbox. What possible sway could he have determining business decisions for… Xbox.Phill Spenser has a lot of stroke but it’s not his right to determine the fate of the XBOX.

Ok so where are we getting the term Business Showcase? That implies like a press briefing. This is a podcast
Most of the people here never even heard of Pentiment. Hyperbole, much? This is the single biggest shift in the video games industry for decades…

That statement was made before the Starfield hysteria. Then why were you just pretending this was just Pentiment? And also according to Tom Warren, author of the article, there is another "big one" that he is not at liberty to disclose.
