Below average.
A lot of delays, many buggy releases.
Pandemic has taken its toll on gaming

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
It's been great for me. Some great games got released, like Elden Ring, Strangers of Paradise and Live A Live. Also others that I still have to play like Soul Hackers 2 or Triangle Strategy.

But most of all I've been having tons of fun playing some pending games like the Yakuza games, Ion Fury, Baldur's Gate 2 RimWorld and many more. Haven't been bored at any moment

Also bought a PS Vita and a Steam Deck, both are amazing devices.

Edit: even if it were just for games released on 2022 I'd still vote it a great year.

Started off with a banger with Elden Ring and ending with God of War Ragnarok. Which is decent enough for me.

Been quite a slow year for games otherwise.. with a lot of stuff being pushed back to next year, or beyond.

11/10 thanks to Bayonetta 3💜

But honestly, although im not a fan of the first half of this year, the next months are filled with greatness! i feel like im on Videogame heaven 😇

RE Village DLC, Bayonetta 3,God of War Ragnarok, Fire Emblem Engage, multiple quality Final Fantasy/Square games, Resident Evil 4, Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, even the Mario movie looks fun 🍄

Can’t Git Gud
Right now it's C at best.
Horizon Forbidden West - great game but too grindy, too annoying characters... but ok game.
Elden Ring - bloaty and gets away with standard DS formula. Best game this year for sure but I don't like bloat and boss repetition. Not my fav souls
Vampire Survivors - goty 2022 lol (for real)
Stray - great little 5 hours game
Far changing tides - great but a bit boring 5 hours long game
TLOU - great remake but just graphical remake.
Ragnarok remains to be seen

For me this year was very dry. Some good stuff but it's not there yet

Decent enough for me with Horizon FW, Destiny 2's Witch Queen expansion, Stray, TLOU Part 1 and the upcoming God of War Ragnarok.

It's still interesting to think that for SIE, all of their heavy hitter titles this year were just games that got pushed out of last years lineup due to pandemic delays. Shows how jam packed Sony wanted the PS5's first year to be, and I still wonder what they had originally planned for the 2022 lineup before the pandemic smashed their plans apart.

Year was pretty good thanks to Nintendo mostly.

Things I really liked this year so far:
- Tunic
- Elden Ring
- Dying Light 2
- Xenoblade
- Fire Emblem Warriors
- As dusk falls
- Immortality
- Tinykin
- Sunbreak
- Plague tale (not finished yet)

Not bad in the end.

Elden Ring and MH Subbreak was my probably my biggest hype this year along and (hopefully) with Final Fantasy Ever Crisis and Crisis Core so if those come out I'd say a good year, but most likely somewhere between average and good

What truly made 2022 great to me was all the upcoming game announcements (Suikoden Remake, FFXVI, FFVII Rebirth, the BOTW sequel, SF6, Wo Long, Diablo IV, RE4 Remake, and so on)

i've bought one full price 2022 game (elden ring). i've had no desire to pay full price for any others. so i'd say below average, & that's putting it mildly...

Great year for me. GT7 has kept me thoroughly entertained since March, HFW was great and Elden Ring - I struggled on my first play-through, but now I’m knee deep in Atlus Plateau as a level 83 confessor and having a great time. There are other games worthy of mention as well, but all said and done, a pretty great year, due to finish with a bang.

I am Become Bilbo Baggins
The only games that have got my member throbbing this year are, Elden Ring, Crusader Kings III and the upcoming God of War and console version of Mount and Blade 2.

Not been a vintage year for gaming in my personal opinion. Hopefully 2023 gets me rock solid most of the year.

I've played two games so far this year and one of those came out in 2021. God of War Ragnarok will be my third game this year.

I'm loving it. X = SHITE!

For me it was below average.
If not for Elden Ring the first thing that popped in my head was REMAKES 😊

Without exaggerating, probably the worst year I can remember since I've been following gaming more thoroughly (so since 2009 at least). I dont care for souls games so ER doesnt matter, rest of the year was trashfire. Maybe Calysto is decent but besides that... If this is were gaming is heading, then yikes, I might need to rely on my collection.

I miss 360/ps3 gen.

Of the things released that I can remember this year, the only thing that jumps out at me as something I'm interested in would TLOU1, but I didn't buy it, because the visual and performance overhaul wasn't enough to justify full retail price. Oh, also bought HFW but I still haven't finished ZD so I haven't given it a spin yet.

Glad for those that had a couple of wins this year. My backlog is huge as is, so I'm not complaining.

Next year looks stacked to me.

Pretty good all things considering. I think it was a pretty strong year for indies. Enjoyed the shit out of Nobody Saves the World, Tinykin, Weird West, Tunic, Cult of the Lamb, Infernax, Prodeus, Scorn, Metal: Hellsinger, Road 96, Midnight Fight Express. Some of them classics in the making. Spent a lot of hours on Two Point Campus and Olli Olli World - both fun and addictive.

Weirdly enough, spent a lot of time playing Powerwash Simulator and don't think I have been this addicted to something so mundane.

Grounded and As Dusk Falls have been my favourite co-op experiences this year and if not for Elden Ring, Grounded would have been my GOTY.

Elex 2 would have been one of the contenders if I didn't totally shit the bed at the end.

I guess Death Loop doesn't count, so I will just add Plague Tale: Requiem which I'm playing at the moment and so far it is really good.

I think Kirby race game and tw3 are the only new games I've purchased that released this year. Everything else is from year's past.

We got a ton of awesome games this year, from several different sizes and genres. And there's top tier stuff like GoW or Bayo 3 coming. I think it will be the best year since many years ago.

Afraid of Boobs
Well, for me:

Elden Ring
Xenoblade Chronicles 3
Triangle Strategy
Tiny Tina's Wonderlands
Neon White
Dorf Romantik
Mario and Rabbids Spark of Hope
Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous

Some great games but also a long lull during the summer (and some duds)

It's been a good year for me. Elden Ring, Live a Live, Horizon Forbidden West, Psychonauts 2 and soon to come God of War Ragnarok. Pretty damn good list of games.

9/10

It was a solid year. By year's end, we'll have all of the following...

Elden Ring, Tactics Ogre Reborn, Calisto Protocol, No More Heroes 3 (PS/XBOX/PC), Demon Throttle, TMNT Cowabunga Collection, TMNT Shredder's Revenge, Bayonetta 3, NFS Unbound, The Callisto Protocol, KOF XV, Dranius, Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII and Atari 50th Anniversary Collection.

I wouldn't rate it just yet, because there are still 2 goty contenders coming out for me. They have a good chance for saving this year from being average. Plague Tale already did its job, let's hope GoW and Callisto Protocol will do the same.

Represent.

Represent(ative) of bad opinions
Best year of the current gen easily. I voted great.

Sifu - entered my top 10 all time

Horizon Forbidden West - haven’t gotten lost in a game world like that in forever.

Call of Duty MW2 - enjoying the fuck out of the campaign right now. I only buy Modern Warfare editions of COD, so they feel fresh.

The Last of Us: Part I - best remake of all time. A goddamn masterpiece gets even more masterful

God of War: Ragnarok - Sequel to one of the best games of all time. Nuff said.

Callisto Protocol - Should be quite good

That’s the most games I’ve bought in a year in many years. So gotta vote great.
