The size of this thing reminds me of a game gear
Woah. Would this work on steamOS or would it need to install Windows? If native then its becoming more and more tempting. This also means Gamepass is portable now.
It's definitely a step up from my current mobile Gamepass solution, an Android phone with Razer Kishi for cloud streaming. This can run games natively and not eat up my data plan while doing it.This also means Gamepass is portable now.
Will it teraflop though?I have the strong feeling this will Flop.
Highly interested. Do we have specs?
Yeah, while we’re still talking about games made for Jaguar CPU and 2013 GPUs….
This thing is releasing in December, as soon as games start targeting the CPUs on these consoles, the show is over.
Still, it’s a good idea and the library will be immense.
This also means Gamepass is portable now.
Proton? What is that?
After seeing many positive reactions, yeah, it's possible it will teraflop. Will it teraflop though?
basically Valve's solution to run Windows games on Linux without needing a Linux portProton? What is that?

yes, quite literallyGotcha. A Wine derivative then?
Completely not true.It runs Steam OS so the library of games available are already severely limited unless you install Windows. Obviously Valve didn't want to purchase Windows licenses for this to keep the price down.
This is 700g, the Switch is 400g for comparison.
Also the 8hours is for light game streaming and browser usage so it seems a bit of a worry for me.
Probably going to end up buying one sadly
It baffle me that so many big companies are out of touch with what players want.
BECAUSE WE WANT GAMES VALVE, NOT A FUCKIN SWITCH FOR PC.
I feel like this is going to hit the sweet spot in a lot of ways. The $400 price tag means it's only slightly more expensive than the OLED Switch, but also significantly less expensive than a "shit tier laptop". It also looks like we're headed into another console draught this Christmas, so any gaming device like this is going to be a hot commodity by default. The price / performance ratio looks really good as well, as others pointed out this is basically a portable PS4 or Xbox One but with only a 800p screen it should be able to do some pretty impressive stuff while still looking damn good.Game Pass is massive, would mean you can download locally as well rather than xCloud.
I could even put my iTunes library on this thing. Shit tier laptops are like £400 at the moment.
Depends on the game. Between 2 and 8 hours.I might have missed it but are there any information about the battery life?
Sure in fantasy land, but we all live on planet earth where nintendo exists & this thing will be a niche purchase at most for diehard steam fans. But i welcome it's arrival it will be something in a long line of rivals for nintendo to trounce. It's about time Nintendo gets their teeth kicked in
They said between 2-8 hours but that 8 hours was game streaming and light browser usage.I might have missed it but are there any information about the battery life?
Looks like another flop akin to Steam machine and Steam Controller, that will be forgotten and discontinued in a year.
looks like a switchthat looks awful...
Original Lynx was pretty huge. The size of this thing reminds me of a game gear
If the Indiegogo and Kickstarter devices are anything to go by, I'll have to mash that RESERVE button tomorrow like my life depends on it. These things sell like hot cakes.Looks like another flop akin to Steam machine and Steam Controller, that will be forgotten and discontinued in a year.
