Has to be before Black Friday. Ideally no later than the middle of November.

According to Wikipedia, the PS4 Slim was only given a weekish notice, so they have done it before (announced Sept 7, launch Sept 15)

I'd be really surprised if Sony wouldn't try to make their shit smaller.

Well, arguably the main reason Slim happened last gen was the Pro. They basically financed the die-shrink with a bump to ASRP (and two chips for one).
And Microsoft only did it because they were desperate for a rebranding (which again, had the potential upside way higher than the shrink cost).

Maybe they hold the "Slim" til spring and then launch the Pro in the Fall/Holiday season.

They are announcing to many Spiderman bundles and new case colors for existing models that it makes me think the "Slim" won't be announced this year. I'd love to be wrong though. I'm a sucker for new shit.

I think the „slim“ PS5 will be introduced after Spider-Man.Maybe in November before thanksgiving or before Christmas in December.If they don’t introduce it this year then 100 % they will introduce it right before Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, with FF7R bundles with the new „slim“

You won't get more system storage. The only realistic way for Sony to up the storage is to put double capacity chips, meaning it will have 1.6 TB of storage. There is no reason to make the console more expensive to manufacture (and subsequently more expensive to sell) when they can just leave the user to buy a now cheap M2 SSD and install it inside. They want to have these PS5s permanently at $399 in stores and not lose money on each sale.

Old fan has 17 blades. New one has 19. The new fan is about 10.7% smaller in diameter. From the picture it seems the new fan also has a smaller height but it could just be tilted. If my calculations are correct the new fan has about 20.3% smaller volume. It's probably more than that since it seems it has lower height as well.
