Double Fine working on a Banjo reboot makes so much sense... but also... it makes even more sense for them to work on Conker too.

No fucking way is Avowed coming next year. They announced it with a goddamn CGI trailer, it’s a 2022 game at the absolute earliest. Some of those release dates seem way too optimistic though
Really lacklustre post, clinging to fake leaks to validate your "concerns". This is not going convince anyone to take you seriously.Really lacklustre line up. This isn't going to convince many to buy the xbox over ps5. Obviously being on PC too doesn't help.
Can you relax?Really lacklustre post, clinging to fake leaks to validate your "concerns". This is not going convince anyone to take you seriously.
Consider my last post in this thread was more than an hour ago, yes I am.Can you relax?
Hook Forza Horizon 5 to my veins!
Yeah that made me unreasonably angry.
Fable should have a whimsical posh-lite British sense of humor. If it's anything else can you call it Fable?
That sounds like they don't have anything for the next two years.
Wow at that startup time into the gen.
I don't think so, XSX was revealed first and has been confirmed since E3 2019 IIRC.
I guess they were counting on Halo Infinite's success but the reaction to the reveal messed their plans. So wait Microsoft deliberately released a console that won't have any exciting first party games for its first 2 years?
What the fuck have they been doing?
I mean last gen they were supposedly SHIT because they were preparing for next gen.
I guess they were counting on Halo Infinite's success but the reaction to the reveal messed their plans.
If they would've delayed the console so late then PS5 would have had even more advantage.
Launching early did help them in the X360 gen so they probably didn't wanna make the same mistake as PS3.
I think we'll get another exclusive next year. Hopefully their plans bode well for them.
With what?Well I guess they bought Bethesda because they knew Sony games will slaughter them in 2021.
I was looking for the new leak, and that's all it is, shit we already knowLiterally all of that was already rumored

The acquisition talks started around the same time Phil became an executive. Until then Xbox was a sub division of Windows and Devices Group under Terry Myerson. They took way too long to realize they needed more studios.
MLB The Show will be multiplat from 2021 and GT7 is not confirmed for 2021. In 2021, Xbox has The Medium(January 28), Scorn, Bright Memory Infinite, CrossfireX, Flight Simulator, Shredders, Exo One, Halo Infinite and many many more smaller indies(and some bigger ones). All of these actually confirmed for 2021.You been in a cave all year? MLB:THE SHOW, Ratchet and clank, Returnal, GT7, Horizon: forbidden west, Kena, Stray, Destruction All stars free on Plus in February, FF XVI, and thats not including if street fighter makes it's date. On top of "other" capcom games that will have exclusivity.
Also forgot deathloop, and Ghostwire.
Like thats a lot. ANd thats not even touching smaller indie titles.
Yes, they have a lot of them.I know I'm going off again on a rant, but jesus. When you look at the state of these projects from the new studios still being years out, you have to wonder, did they not have things in place like timed deals, or third party exclusives to fill in the gap while we wait for these new teams?

Does her Husband still work at Nintendo?

Xbox chief Phil Spencer joins Microsoft's Senior Leadership Team
Microsoft's Xbox Chief, Phil Spencer, is now a part of its Senior Leadership Team as an Executive Vice President.www.windowscentral.comThe Xbox division simply didnt have the money to throw around like they do now. Phil now reports directly to Nadella. Also the Zenimax acquisition talks started in 2018, not because "We don't have anything in 2021, lets buy Bethesda".Terry Myerson is out as Microsoft shakes up Windows and Devices group
Microsoft has announced a new "Experiences & Devices" division, lead by Rajesh Jha, that replaces the old Windows and Devices group along with Terry Myerson.www.windowscentral.com

Yes, they have a lot of them.
You really think Phil had any say in how first party studios were run before Xbox One launch? He literally had less power than Matt Booty has now. His job was to monitor first party games development(and he did a damn good job of that with what he had in the 360 era), not buy them.Phil was head of xbox studios before, how before xbox one debacle he never looked at the state of their studios, and how many teams they had and not put up a red flag
Seamus Blackley(father of Xbox) worked on many stuffs like System Shock and the three other co-founders were DirectX devs. Unless you mean the Windows and Devices Group head Terry Myerson(who had the final say), Xbox division itself was always handled by people in the industry. Even Don Mattrick was from EA.Also xbox as a division was run by enterprise execs.
And your basis for that is someone who writes essays on a gaming forum to make everything fit into his own narrative? You basically make stuff up and present it as a fact. Now Phil is ceo but that comes with a catch. His division now has to look like all others on spreadsheet in how they operate like services.
Now all the studios wont be looked at by how much the IP's make but more or less engagement numbers, and subs.
Difference is Mojang was done by Microsoft(for Hololens and Minecraft Education stuffs), Phil said in Major Nelson podcast last year that Minecraft was not his idea. Zenimax deal was done by the Xbox division, although I know why you are so desperate to compare Zenimax and Mojang.Zenimax btw was not looking just at Microsoft. Microsoft knew they needed content for gamepass and that it was going to take years for their internal studios to show fruit. Zenimax acquisition is no different than Majong.
Not a lot of reason to get an Xbox Series before 2022, but hopefully the drought will be over around then. By that time, there could be a new model or a cheaper current model.
Too bad I'm not patient enough to take my own advice. I got a Series X hooked up right now waiting for some games.
Ah yes, I remember the launch of the original Xbox in 1990. It was quite bold of them to go against the NES and Master System like that.Yea, so? Microsoft has had xbox as a division for 3 decades. And for three decades they basically ran it into the ground.

Do you think at all before posting?
Also the point about being run by execs is basically a trope at this point. Every large company is « run by execs », even Sony or other companies you like. There’s nothing specific about MS in that regard.
Forza 8 doesn't even have a release year. Forza Horizon 5 has not been announced this fall, and there are other mistakes. Most stuff sounds legit but for estimated dates from maybe 1 or 2 years ago, and we should add there some typical delays from videogames, and now even more with covid.
We also should consider what MS said that all the games published by them during the first couple of XSX will be crossgen. According to their trailers and the Xbox page several of the mentioned games aren't crossgen, so they souldn't be released before late 2022.
That has been denied by 343i though. There's rumors of Halo Infinite's XBO version being cancelled, as well.
Starfield will be the first next gen only first party game it seems. His LinkedIn has been updated to now include Xbox One.
Seriously, The Xbox One Version Of Halo Infinite Hasn't Been Cancelled

I don’t know man. I don’t think that star field is a 2021 game. That has been denied by 343i though.
Starfield will be the first next gen only first party game it seems.
Flight Simulator will release in 2021 but its not a first party game. Forza Motorsport will take some time. Also, Flight Simulator uses Asobo's in house engine but they used lot of tools from Turn 10 during development.I don’t know man. I don’t think that star field is a 2021 game.
After seeing flight simulator running on the new forza engine, T10 are gonna be the first MS studio to melt our eyes in 21 if it releases
Flight sim is running on forza tech my friend. Google it.Flight Simulator will release in 2021 but its not a first party game. Forza Motorsport will take some time. Also, Flight Simulator uses Asobo's in house engine but they used lot of tools from Turn 10 during development.
If I don't mistake all official info plus realistic assumptions of AAA development time and covid impact seems to point that they continue with the 2 years crossgen idea.Or, what's equally as likely, is that they've reneged on that crossgen idea. FS2020 is coming next summer and has no XBO or One X versions, even though it would've fallen into the timeframe of having such beforehand. There's rumors of Halo Infinite's XBO version being cancelled, as well.
Seems to me they dropped the "all cross-gen" idea sometime later into August and around September. Smaller games like Grounded will still be cross-gen but 1P aside from that, even in 2021, looks like most of that will be next-gen only.
I think it's hard to know which one will be released first. That has been denied by 343i though.
Starfield will be the first next gen only first party game it seems.

The Xbox release trailer itself. What is FS2020 and what is the source saying it will be released next summer?
Critically acclaimed Microsoft Flight Simulator will come to life on the Xbox Series X|S starting Summer 2021.
Here are all the known official dates of upcoming Xbox games with sourcesI think it's hard to know which one will be released first.
I think that if we don't know their release year and didn't show gameplay (in alpha stage gameplay, not target cinematics) it's because they won't be released in more than a year. I expect all these big AAA next gen only MS games to be released H2 2022 or later specially now with covid, matching more or less that 'around 2 years of crossgen games' idea.
If not gameplay, if they planned to release in 2021 some of these games it would appear a 2021 on their trailer.

Last gen was shit because they had like 5 studios and most were working on the failing Kinect games at the time. Now they have 20 something studios working on actual games. So wait Microsoft deliberately released a console that won't have any exciting first party games for its first 2 years?
What the fuck have they been doing?
I mean last gen they were supposedly SHIT because they were preparing for next gen.
Im not going to embarrass you any further but here’s a picture of my original Shenmue as well as JSRF and Lost Oddyssey, guess I’m at least old enough to have those. I started with the NES actually but it’s too expensive to collect those days. You sound young, so I'll let it slide. But they had three
gen's? Og XBox, 360, xbox one, and now going into their 4 gen. So they are a little short in actual decade years which is 10 years. But they have been in the game for three gens, and over 20 years.
And when I say execs im talking people who worked in enterprise. Nintendo and Sony dont come from enterprise. They come from electronics, toys, entertainment/music. Which is why The playstation was such a success when it launched. They had expierence in making high quality marketable products. Microsoft's contribution at the time of their entry was windows. Huge difference in people and company culture. None of those people had backgrounds in anything outside of applications. Some of them came from software mostly so PC software/games was a good transition. J allard, shamous were the only people who knew what they had with the xbox. The rest of the company could give 2 shits. ANd the people they put in charge over the gens shows it. Phil is the only one who has moved up from xbox software, but even his early background started in application software for windows.
So i was off, but all you have to comment is my time was off in how long they have been in the game? Sounds about right from a young poster.
I bet you never even owned a console from the 90's. I have most of my gaming coming from 80's-90's.
Xbox has been run into the ground and never treated the way it should have been. And now going into 4th gen we are waiting till 2022-2023 until we see anything new from them. And honestly the way they have been behind in their GDK/SDK shows how little they give a shit. They dont seem to have any kind of urgency.
It took someone getting promoted to be able to make changes before they got their heads out of their asses. And even so from the outside looking in, phil looked like when he closed studios that he didnt put up a good fight. If phil was/is that passionate on xbox I would have told the entire board that either we drastically change and take xbox serious or I resign. And the fact this took till 2017 to have any kind of change says before hand he let everything play out. Regardless, i would have put my job on the line and told them either we change or im done. How anyone looked at XBox one and said, " gamers will love tv" was good is beyond me.
Im not going to embarrass you any further but here’s a picture of my original Shenmue as well as JSRF and Lost Oddyssey, guess I’m at least old enough to have those. I started with the NES actually but it’s too expensive to collect those days.
The rest of your post is just incredibly ignorant of previous Microsoft generations and what they did in the 360 years. For example you say Microsoft’s contribution at the time of the OG Xbox was Windows, did you know they were publishing games even by 1996 on PC? Midtown Madness is an example of an MS game that was successful before the XBox.
Also Nintendo has had 7 generations so far, have they been in the gaming business since 1950?
Not sure how I feel about double fine working on Banjo.
