There was an interesting deflection at the end.
Piers was asking him about transwomen breaking women’s records, and he deflected to the dangers that women living in a misogynistic society live in. A very sneaky evasion. It would be interesting to see someone really hammer at this point and see what happens when all possible dodge positions are taken.
Butterworth also made an interesting comment about being who you were born to be. I cannot understand this position. If gender is a social construction, how can you be born to be something? Wouldn’t that be like saying you were born to be a mailman or a chef or... a penguin?
