Its because they have the same purpose. tell something. Some have better graphic and combat, while others convey their message via papers scattered around. For example, destiny and outriders have the single player campaign. Incase of destiny 2, you get players on your lobby. The same thing for the secret worlds. Both have good single player experience.Fortnite, PUBG and COD aren't bad games, on the contrary, they have enormous userbases and millions of people playing because, I assume there is something very good about them. I was asking you about your point though, about how they were "the same thing", when the experience of an online game is about as different as it can be from a single player, narrative driven games. It sounds to me that you can't explain your point because it's nonsensical.
If you stopped other people getting in to your lobby, the experience acts as a single game. last time i played the secret world was great. It felt like i was playing single rpg game.
