Any chance this gets an anime series? P4 did, P3 even got some movies.

I'd put it at 100% given there already was a prequel anime series for it :p

as for another one, there is still pretty good odds in a few years they will adapt it into an anime series to get people talking about persona again and remembering how good persona5 is before p6 comes.

So was playing though the game and notice some cameos from Persona 4, it was about Chie and Yukiko. I saw both on the TV one ad was talking about a rising star female police officer who knew karate, and the other TV ad was talking about Amagi Inn and the beautiful owner who runs it. Now I'm going to pay attention more to the TV and surroundings to see if I see info about the other cast from P4.

True true, guys are more guilty of that than girls, that much I'll admit... there are plenty who don't know when to say no, or when to step back. Those guys are dicks. But at the same time, some perfectly innocuous, legal, behaviour can be blown grossly out of proportion by querulous individuals who label everything that they simply don't like as a 'micro-aggression' or harassment. It's hard to win sometimes, when the boundaries of acceptability are being pushed back further and further.

Is it any wonder that people are willing to get defensive about suggestive content within a game when they feel that the list of things that they're allowed to enjoy is getting smaller and smaller every day? I do feel that way. Hostile to any suggestions that anything in Persona should be toned down or changed to make others feel comfortable with something that I see zero issues with.

I would like to say that when people bring up these points, it's not to make others playing the game feel bad for liking the game or even the pervier moments. There's nothing wrong with cheesecake and sexy shots, necessarily, and I wouldn't try to change Senran Kagura or tell someone they're wrong for liking it (or remove all the sexiness from this game, even). The main problem is when the cheesecake gets in the way of creating a harmonious theme within the story. The messaging behind Ann is kind of confused, yeah I can see where her phantom thief self and persona are about reclaiming her sexuality, but there aren't many (if any) scenes where she's purposefully being sexy vs being ogled unknowingly.

It's not about making anyone feel bad (or about creating an environment where you feel like just chatting up a cute person IRL might be perceived as a micro-aggression), but just talking about incongruous things within the narrative, themes, and all that of the game.

It sold really well so I can see them cashing in with something. There's also the Daybreakers OVA if you haven't seen that, it's just a single episode that follows one of the mementos cases from the game.

I can't believe what I just fucking did. Death confidant spoilers:
Pay 100k for SP-boosting accessory. Do no combat. Two weeks later level up so everything is half price. Have no fucking save since before end of third dungeon, two hours earlier.

Kill me.

Change your heart

Come and steal it.

if you're going to get riled up over people saying "Hey, this shit can feel predatory" please consider the feelings of people who are, in fact, preyed upon

Depends if they are legitimately predatory - or should I say, something that a reasonable, well-adjusted individual would consider predatory. None of that being accused of harassment just for chatting up a girl bullshit. I guess you have a point with the
face down headrest
moment, though.

Well, I guess it's a good thing the world doesn't revolve around you, then. Seriously, that's kind of a dick thing to say. If what you enjoy makes people uncomfortable, then maybe stop to question why it's making people uncomfortable. Examine your own actions instead of insisting that the problem lies with the person who's being hurt by what you're doing or saying.

The question is, how many people does it make uncomfortable? If the vast majority of women are offended by something, sure, then it's time to stop and think; if it's just a religious fundamentalist or a radfem, well, they get offended by a lot of things that I enjoy, so why bother?

I would like to think that if Ann was a buddy of yours, you wouldn't do that to her, and you would stand up for her if someone else did it.

Of course, that's just called being a decent person.

God, I wish the SIU director (10/27 but earlier intermittent spoilers)
wasn't so hilariously evil every time they show him. The music kicking in and going bananas, him laughing maniacally...

I totally misread him in Japanese too lol, I thought he was another 'just doing his job' guy like Sae

In July: I'm able to romance Ann,
but her s. link is really lackluster imo. Makoto seems more interesting. Why does this game take so long to introduce the other romance options? lol (with regards to the main cast).

You seem to have this idea that radical feminists are the only people who notice or take offence of this kinda stuff and have isolated their complaints to some specialist section of society in order to deligitimise their worries. So anyone who raises these concerns automatically is labelled a radical feminist and is therefore safe to ignore.

Like someone said earlier, people voicing these concerns aren't necessarily... radical feminists or religious fundamentalists or whatever that just hate sex or something.

Man, I just beat the second castle...loving this game so much.

I've been avoiding this thread for fear of spoilers (since I already got spoiled in "non-spoiler" thread)...but as I get farther I will come join the conversation.

Ann is kind of confused, yeah I can see where her phantom thief self and persona are about reclaiming her sexuality, but there aren't many (if any) scenes where she's purposefully being sexy vs being ogled unknowingly.

I want to write a longer post on this, but I don't have time - however, I don't think that's necessarily true. There's plenty in her social link that suggests she actually does want to be seen as sexy - she's a model (which alone should tell you she's comfortable showing her attractiveness to the public), she talks about how her idols as a kid were sexy anime villains, she gets super competitive about trying to be hotter and more popular than Mika. When Ryuji gets excited at seeing her in a swimsuit, she laughs and puts her arm around him.

Like, there's a huge difference between "not wanting to be groped and stalked and
manipulated into statutory rape
" and "not wanting to be seen as sexy", and I feel like some of the discussion around Ann in this thread is conflating the two, or just ignoring certain aspects of her character.

Not that serious?

Money is insanely easy to grind even if you don't do the Momentos boss grind.

I largely agree. But it will take a deeper character analysis to put together and I don't have the time right now...

9/9:
Yusuke's shown up out of the blue and there's a Hawaiian lei around the protagonist in the loading animation. I have a big grin on my face.

Wish more scenes were voiced.

i'm actually at the point where i'm annoyed at the story for getting in the way of my references to previous persona games lmao

I hope somebody compiles a list with screenshots of all the Persona 4 (and 3) references.
Rise is really hard to miss, you even get a poster of her to hang on your wall.

My wording wasn't that "she doesn't want to be sexy" for that reason. But there aren't any scenes that come to mind when I think of her purposefully trying to be sexy or display her sexuality in some form, vs
having the camera go down her shirt and then we see it's the guys looking at her, or them looking at her legs peeking out from her yukata (kinda weird since she's always wearing short skirts and shorts, but maybe the yukata adds a different flavor) and having Morgana and Ryuji try to look up her skirt that one time she lied down on the couch. She gets understandably upset and annoyed when that happens, and I wouldn't consider it her trying to be sexy. The beach thing is fine (even thought Ryuji really needs to close his mouth before flies get in there lol), and I didn't complain about it.
If there's something past the 4th Palance that changes that, I haven't gotten far enough to see it.

Edit: I can think of a time or two she tries to
"seduce" Yusuke so they can bust into the workshop, but those scenes are mostly played for comedy since she's such a bad actor and Yusuke still buys it.

there's also persona 2 reference,
the sentai characters in futuaba's room are the same as the mask that the heroes of 2 wore as children

This is fair enough. I'm mostly thinking about conversations earlier in the thread about her costume and animations and whatnot, and just kind of used your post as a jumping board. I'd agree that there's too many scenes where she is being sexualized by others or the camera rather than being deliberately sexy, but I don't think that the times when she herself acts sexy are out of character, is how I suppose I'd put it.

The new Igor voice has really grown on me. I find it hilarious how the kids shit on you the whole time and Igor ignores all of it.

I think I might be around the halfway point. So far i've been enjoying everything about the game. I played Person 3, but never finished it. Never got to play 4 because I never ended up buying a vita. Anyway, the characters and the world are just so engrossing despite the game being very linear. I'm having more fun playing this than I did going through FF XV.

Can't wait to hear more about that Project Re Fantasy game they making.

I can agree with that. The overtness of her movements in battle might not be to my liking, but it can at least be argued that she's trying to be like the sexy female characters she saw on superhero shows.

Keeping a consistent theme doesn't seem unreasonable at all, I guess. To be honest, I don't object to anything you just said.

Maybe, just seems like society is going crazy, it's hard to tell sometimes who just wants an honest discussion and who wants to shove their particular ideology down your throat. But where would you draw the line between reasonable and frivolous complaints?

Let me put it this way: i don't think I know a single woman in my life who hasn't, at some point in their existence, made real, actual countermeasures to being assaulted in their day-to-day life.

Compared to that 'normal', people complaining about feminazis ranks very low on my priority scale.

So, does Dungeon
7
works the same as previous ones, as in if I go in and finish it ASAP I will have free time or not? Considering the game blatantly warning me to finish up my Confidants, after all.

Yeah, you get all that free time.
You just don't send the calling card until the last possible moment.
