It's now being reported by The Verge so the leaks are legit.

I think they'll be using a compatibility layer; it should be performant enough for full speed BC.No way they'll go ARM, losing backwards compatibility in the process.

They have a lot of stuff developed to deploy x86 binaries on ARM. Apple's Rosetta 2 is very performant aswell, so it can certainly be done.
The industry is now ready for it.Always Online Mach2
Purple forum. It should go up on gaming news outlets any minute now.Where did you get this from exactly?
Goes without saying but literally anybody could conjure up slides like this with PowerPoint alone.
No more credible than those photos of livestream details taken at potato resolution from a weird angle. No spelling mistakes doesn't automatically give it credibility (but helps of course )
Microsoft engineers were able to get PowerPC architecture (Xbox 360) games to run at improved frame-rates and native resolutions on x86 architecture (Xbox One - current). No way they'll go ARM, losing backwards compatibility in the process.

Translation layer should resolve that with minor over-head. ARM isn't an insane proposition given Microsoft's prior works. No way they'll go ARM, losing backwards compatibility in the process.

Microsoft sees it. It’s why they’re pushing so hard towards gamepass. Sony buckled afterwards and Nintendo has been on the verge of slowly changing too. PC gamers don’t even care anymore since Steam is everything to them.
Without discs and having games not work without internet are two very different things.Microsoft sees it. It’s why they’re pushing so hard towards gamepass. I don’t think we’re ready for the full cloud experience(like Stadia) but a future without discs is quickly approaching.
The former leads to the latter.Without discs and having games not work without internet are two very different things.
I can see an argument for the former getting closer, but not the latter.
AAA games are already releasing that have no physical version available. Look at Alan Wake 2. I expect most new titles to forgo physical options altogether within the next 5 years.Microsoft sees it. Amd making their own version of dlss?
Whenever they force playing games off the cloud is when I’m out. Don’t care how low the latency gets.Cloud has returned and it’s back with a vengeance.
Not for single player games. The former leads to the latter.
I hope future history proves that you are right. Looking at today’s landscape I worry it won’t.Not for single player games.
Chances are Alan Wake 2 won't sell very well just like the first game. So it may not be a perfect test for the industry to see if they can get away with no retail versions in bigger releases.AAA games are already releasing that have no physical version available. In my opinion the publishers will try to make the physical editions more 'limited' (like only xxxxx copies worldwide). They will be able to charge more money for them, keep the illusion of being the good guys and keep pushing for digital-only future.
It’s the gift that just keeps on givingLove that this stuff is leaking!
How good is this, to see inside information.
Don't they already?Amd making their own version of dlss?
Fsr doesn't use ai like nvda. the one for the next Xbox uses ai. That's why nvda does a better job.Don't they already?
Its called FSR 2 i think

If anyone can switch to ARM and continue the backwards compatibility it would be them.

The slides are real, they were mistakenly added as attachments to the FTC doc. Now that some of the info is outdated; that's entirely someting else. Most of those game release dates are wrong lmao, this is so fake.
It different kind of brain or think space for computer box. Apple computer box recently now Arm brain, no more intel. It very successful. Can someone explain in cavemen terms what ARM is and is it cool or uncool?
ARM will be perfect for a portable xbox
Nvidia or qualcommThat is true, but they still need an efficient GPU..
Not fake. Just outdated because of constant delays. Most of those game release dates are wrong lmao, this is so fake.
Time to prepare for the new onslaught of buzzwords.
