Seems weird. I don't see casual gamers being the primary market for GamePass.
They simply wouldn't play enough games to justify it (at full price, but of course not on the current $1 promotions --- but obviously these won't go on forever).

PC/Console product has far less pull on mobile than softtware designed specifically for that sort of form-factor/usage profile. So naturally they need a way to prop Gamepass up for more mobile focussed demo's.
You mean the tech that was sold at a profit, was likely an offshoot of R&D for Hololens, and actually sold perfectly well enough to justify its existence?
