The tensor cores are for ML and are only used for dlss currently although they were originally for denoising aswell although that hasn't seemed to happen. They have separate RT cores for RT intersection and BVH traversal.
The RT cores and Tensor cores on nVIDIA GPU’s are not the same thing and AMD likely built their own version sitting next to the TMU HW (maybe less performant than the nVIDIA solution, not sure the like for like impact of intersections on texturing rate on each architecture, I think nVIDIA had issues about texturing in parallel to day intersections in the first generation solution like on XSX and PS5).
Compare it to XSX or PS5 (looks similar): RT intersection HW sitting between Shader ALU’s and Texture Units.
You are right about the tensor cores (ML) being a bit of a big key to this because nVIDIA does not need to waste shader performance denoising the coarse grained ray traced graphics: they have the Tensor Cores for it. This makes better use of the RT HW.
Sure, sure as if we were comparing apples to apples… let’s see how the car simulation at 60 FPS and likely VR support fares before we sell ifs

- all tracks from GT Sport, except for 2x new announced

- still no fucking R246!
- most likely it´s based on GT Sport career ... just enhanced (more events), where one has to select a track > pick an event ... when GTMode was never like that. There better be a JP Championship, EU, US, Endurance Races, Sunday Cups, Clubman GTs ... and manufacture race (GT4) as well!
- no drive missions from GT4 ...
- shitty 3D overworld map, where time cycles as well for a stupid reason
- the rain effects driving behind one is weak compared to drive club, even GT5, GT6 have done it better
- where are all the classics tracks?
- 420 cars, 99.99% from GT Sport ... only 50 to 100 used cars?!

Given the way the info is coming out, I'm more inclined to believe this game is a PS4/Pro game that has slipped by 18months, and has been further delayed to give it a cursory PS5 patch to eat up the extra performance to do native 4K.To the people saying that Spiderman and R&C had RT at 60fps need to realize 1 thing, guess whats missing in both. Dynamic tod and weather, those 2 features are not easy to pull off with the lighting quality of GT. And this game is 4k60 not 1440p or 4K CB so its not comparable with those games. Sure i would also love if they gave us a 1440p RT mode or dynamic 4K with RT but it is what it is. We need to have realistic expectations with those consoles when it comes to RT, they are literally RTX 2060/2070 level when it comes to RT. Expecting next gen graphics with RT at 4k60 is just unrealistic.

I’ve seen this sentiment a lot and I’m so thrilled that I’m not the only one. They really need to take this feedback seriously. Here,. GTPlanet and playstation blog have numerous complaintsI would expect GT8 Prologue to have RT while running at 1440p60, or 1080p60 at the very least, and given the nonsense with persistent online for GT7 and poor next-gen showing, I expect GT8 prologue to be 18months away - I hope it is, anyway, as I'm not buying this, and will continue to wait it out with GT5 and 6 on my PS3.

Not sure if GT Sport is considered a mainline GT release, but I'll still argue that Gran Turismo is still more popular than the Motorsport/Horizon series.
I’ve bought the Ultimate edition of all of the Horizons too even though I was subscribed to Gamepass when 4 came out. I wanted the early access, VIP and car packs.We will never get proper sales figures with the introduction of Gamepass though I am one of the few fools who buys the ultimate editions of Forzas because I want ALL the cars and have never owned a GT game
Like i said before, I still think based on this interview that they want to implement RT in the future for gameplay. I looks like it does had have RT for the mirrors. So my guess is that they implement RT shadows and lighting in the future. GT Sport already has a great looking SSR and cubemap implementation ingame.
I played a GT Sports again after the PS5 release and i was blown away how stunning it still looks and the sound of the cars is amazing.

Same here love getting all the cars and still only consistently drive like 3I’ve bought the Ultimate edition of all of the Horizons too even though I was subscribed to Gamepass when 4 came out. I wanted the early access, VIP and car packs.

FMH4 sold 1.6mll. on steam, but only 10,000 to 20,000 are concurrently online (50,000 being top twice for 24h). Usually around 11,000 to 15,000+. In other words:
just 0.625% to 1.25% who bought it on steam, play the game on a daily basis. If we use this as a basis, we could conclude that of 24mll. only 150,000 to 300,000 are playing it on a daily basis.
WoW had peak about 15mll. paying, playing people .. with over 250 servers to maintain them (if not more). MMORPG companies do this to brag for decades. In actuality the number is much lower.

You'd really need to see (SW RT) Lumen in action first hand, because the coherency of the real-time lighting combined with nanite rendered megascans at interactive frame-rates - using the drone mode - is a massive step up IMHO - even from any of the launch PS5 games that use RT.Rt is useless, it's for people who buy expensive ass cards just to sleep good at night with their purchase that their shadows were properly reflected 2 cm than the fake ones .

To say forza isn't bigger than gt is pretty crazy a forza title has tick tocked release more or less every year since gt 6 launched. There are more people playing regularly on forza titles than gt games. Forza Horizon was a big help in catapulting this to a larger audience thx to expansions such as hot wheels and lego. To think otherwise is a bit short sighted imo.
Gt is still big and I think they play amazingly well so I'm all over this. I'm sure and hope the game will be great on release but it is a disappointment to see Sony advertising features that make the games look more technically demanding then back peddling on it 3 to 6 months from launch.
I'm sure we will see the same thing with forza 8 so the tables can turn and we can have fans saying "remember how much shit gt got for not having RT...now look at F8" and the tables will once again be turned and the never ending circle of bollocks will continue to spin. Haha

That was estimated games sales based on gamestat player counts(new copies, used copies, game sharing, and etc).
Unless it came from Sony nothing is official. zero real data is better than millions of fake data.
