That's certainly one of the takes of all time. Also again it shows that pc players are bitches. They always whine about something.
The game is using these expensive components for something. That’s a good thing. Right?
And mtx is optional. I have 600 steam games and you think I go and cry playing games for which I have not bought every dlc ?! Get real and just ignore this or pay 2$ if you really want it.
Then they will whine that singleplayer games are dead, where is dd3 and games are too expensive at 70€
This thread is basically Tell me you didn't play DD1 without telling me you didn't play DD1.
what makes this ok is that they game is great without having to buy any of the crap.Because having played DD makes this okay, somehow?
yea PC didn't get the Original until after the DLC released for DD1. It did add unlimited fast travel. The original pre Dark Arisen was same as DD2 limited fast travel. Here is the DLC for the original on console. https://dragonsdogma.fandom.com/wiki/List_of_Downloadable_Content notice the Misc table.Or alternatively they played.
Notice how the only DLC is a soundtrack? Interesting...

..or people who have already dropped 80 bucks on this game and can't bring themselves to admit that was a bad decision. Better to defend than admit to do something dumb, like pre-ordering.
You answered your own damn question.Besides sony most aaa sp games have mtx. I dont think it's great but if we really hate mtx than we should hate every mtx game and f2p games shouldn't even exist.
Imagine hating on sp games selling for 70 bucks but most popular f2p games from riot, valve miyo sell skins for half of a full price game on top of battlepass crap etc.
Gamers are so selective in their critics its ridiculous.
All those f2p devs are way worse than this because.
We deserve the gaas mtx f2p hell that's coming in a few years.

After nearly 1000 hours in the first game and its expansion and about 6 hours in DD2 so far:
You have other options for travel that aren’t instant teleports. The game, much like the first, is not designed around the use of instant teleports.
Wakestones, much like the DMC counterpart, aren’t really useful unless you are super bad at the game.
You can earn RC in game.
All DLC is no different than the original DLC the first game launched with.
Save file is like Pokemon. One save file, one character. Want a new one? Delete the old. This one is very dumb and needs to change.
that they are extremely limited in game and thus manipulatively attractive to some playersOr some people don't see optional options in a game that's not competitive as an issue. Why is this an issue? It's not like you can't get this stuff in game. It's not directly hurting you if you don't buy it. So why is it an issue again???
So you are not concerned by the mtx and are having fun? After nearly 1000 hours in the first game and its expansion and about 6 hours in DD2 so far:

The simply solution? Don't pay for any of them. If you do, you suck at gaming and should go find another hobby.
It’s ok to call out but boycotting and artificial negative scores because of this are stupid. Game itself is good. This is optional inconvenience at best
the game not being designed with fast travel makes it even worse, since it means that they are ok with sacrificing the entire gameplay loop and experience for some cashAfter nearly 1000 hours in the first game and its expansion and about 6 hours in DD2 so far:

You can disagree all you want. This is nothing compared to what other games are doing. Just don’t buy itReview scores being low, because the publisher implemented bad practices and denied basic features to players, is not artifical, it is perfectly legitimate and deserved. I can understand that you personally like the game. You are entitled to. But there is no need to defend Capcom from perfectly justified backlash.
We fundamentally disagree here. In fact, most of this thread disagrees with you on this.

Hey, but remember. You have dudes out here pretending games should cost more due to inflation while ignoring how modern games make their money.I really don't like modern gaming, man.
new game option could be a Steam exclusive?Official stamement from Capcom:

You answered your own damn question.
70 bucks AND mtx or F2P (means free you know....) with mtx?
Yeah the difference is right there.
This makes no sense. Single player games are designed to be complete packages, when you start to accommodate for mtx you’re effectively changing your game design. This not only affects how the game is played but it also sets an awful precedent for how games will be designed in the future. This is the best example of pay 2 win in a single player game. F2P games rely on an entirely different financial model, you’re sold a free game, and not promised anything.
DD1 had a shitty navigation system to begin with, no one who wants to enjoy a games world design is going to want to fast travel in the first place, but when your quests and encounters are designed to make you walk endlessly back and forth you are forced into using fast travel, which has been subsequently limited by design. If you can’t see how fucking bad this is it’s on you, but you’re making a poor effort defending this shit.
The amount of "just ignore it" and "its completely optional" and "stop whining" comments in this thread make me think GAF is being invaded by Capcom's PR personnel.
It's ridiculous dude. I dont get it. And i give up. These people don't even bother making good faith arguments beyond "just ignore it".how many twats play devils advocate and defend these practices.
Some of the responses in this thread...

I'm tired boss.
Is the MTX essential to enjoy the game? Would the game play better and be more fun without these MTXs? If no, then I fail to see the problem and understand the outrage over MTXs like these, because not buying these MTXs is virtually identical for us as if they didn't exist in the first place.
Since I don't understand the problem and outrage of this, I get the impression that the people who are deeply bothered and vocal about this are really troubled by merely the possibility, potential, or temptation of buying MTXs, by either not being able to but wanting to or some sort of annoying FOMO.

and will still not take away the feeling that they are selling you a solution for a problem they created...it's ok if your design philosophy hinges on fast travel being limited and forcing the player to travel but at least commit to it instead of throwing it away for 2 dollars a pop.

At least they openly stated they'll address the new game issue. Honestly, besides denuvo and performance issues, that was what was bothering me the most.Official stamement from Capcom:
So I have to pay real money to fast travel? That’s atrocious. Too many other games to play for me to bother with this.
But don't you think they've already done that ? They would have designed quests in a way that requires you to traverse a lot. Then make the traversal feel like a grind, so that normies will buy your port crystals or whatever. This is fundamental design around mtx rather than around good exploration like Skyrim. They would not make traversal & exploration fun, otherwise no one would buy their crap.As long as it doesn’t alter the core design of the game (such as Assassins Creed making the game grinder to facilitate selling exp boosts) then I don’t see the issue.
