Got hold of it (I’ve already got gamepass so only playing early so chill) apart from odd sound glitch performance is really good graphics are amazing playing at 4k bit slow start no action in first 30 minutes so far.

The game is also funded by Gazprom, is thematically dripping in soviet exceptionalism and imperialism, mundfish has blocked people for questioning their stance on the war, and hired known Russian hyper nationalists (I believe one of the musicians if I recall correctly).
I’m also conflicted, this would certainly be one way to play it without contributing to the genocide.
That said, I’m a gamespass subscriber, and microsoft would have paid them long ago to lock this in, so my money has already been spent to aid the russian war machine. That being the case my current plan is “play it for free” on gamespass, and donate £70 to Ukraine.

Bioshock changed my view on gaming back when it came out. Im kinda bored of it now cuz I played it so much back in the day, and it’s clunky by today’s standards- but I hope this is as good. I mean, it should technically play and feel better as it’s 2023 and on current gen consoles (PS5). We are no longer in the PS3 days

Anyway, didn't the devs pretty much make no comment on the situation? They're russian devs so it totally makes sense.
Hope the game is good, been playin Bioshock here and there lately and this looks like it'll scratch that itch in one way or another.

And while my country is neutral in this war (as it should be), I personally find hilarious some sanctimonious sermons coming from NATO countries. You've been doing this genocide thing since 100s of years. Suddenly its all about democracy and morals and what not for you? I would have had far more respect for them if they didnt make this about morals as if they have any leg to stand on (and they would've done the same thing if it was Russia on their doorstep, ala cuban missile crisis). Of course you are free to fight Russia for your reasons and its politics after all, but I hate when they pass sermons to neutral countries. Its like 'you are with us or against us'. No we arent. We have nothing to do with this and west/Europe isnt the world. To me both sides seem equally brainwashed and war-mongering.

Still looking forward to this because Mick Gordon and if anything it boasts an original art style that will be a nice palate cleanser from all the retro shooters I've played recently. I was never going to buy this on release anyway because I still have many other games to get to and Scars Above also releases later this month which, after having played the demo, I'm very excited for.

Looking forward to playing this, so I'm not going to bother pirating it or watching videos. I have it pre-loaded on my PC and Steam Deck. GP PC says it unlocks 2/20 at 9PM PST. Don't know if it's official, but a release time map I saw showed it as not being a simultaneous global release, but instead midnight in each region. Usually that means you can "take a trip to New Zealand" and play the game way earlier in the day.

I know you recommended Bioshock which is a game i really like, but it also has the same enemies over and over and melee in the game is weird.
Also not every FPS with a side magical ability is automatically Bioshock. Bioshock didnt invent the genre and based from what i have seen Atomic Heart appears to have puzzles, a thing that Bioshock lacks.
Sure it seems to be inspired by Bioshock and probably Half Life too, but that doesnt mean its shit.
Are you a fan of FPS anyway? I know some gamers dont like First Person view and thats valid, but for everyone who likes the genre this game appears to be interesting to say the least, so i dont know, unless you played it and are willing to explain in detail.

I wanted to play this for the graphics and gameplay but the more I read about the cringe duke nukem style dialogue the more turned off I get. Will wait on reviews but sounds like a pass.

actually nobody is terrorising europe, the problem is that europe freezes any euro transaction to gazprom, in fact they froze russia's money in europe(around 300k million euros) so gazprom receives no money for selling gas to europe because europe refuses to give the money to them(some european countries even take euros from russian tourists when they return to russia), so gazprom now only accept rubles in russian banks for their gas so europe cannot stop transactions, then europe said they wont pay rubles for the gas insisting they will only pay in euros but also stoping any transaction to russia essentially asking gazprom to give them gas for free, gazprom said nyet, and that is why europe is buying russian gas from india and china with extra cost that europeans have to pay, other gas producers sold everything already to china and india so even with the extra cost there is not enough gas, that is why USA is now friends with maduro in venezulea and you dont hear complains about iranian tankers turning off their transponders

If governments want to levy sanctions, that’s their prerogative but I don’t think regular citizens should be all of a sudden anti-everything that’s Russian.
The game definitely looks promising. Crossing my fingers that it’ll run decently on consoles. English VO’s seem pretty cringe though.

Iirc, there was a leak on Era saying the development was very troubled and every preview was fake gameplay or something like that.
Powerpyx also announced they are not going to make a guide for Atomic Heart because the game is a miserable experience.
