Xbox business Showcase Announced for February 15

Its a done deal. With MS’ announcement for a THURSDAY AUDIO PODCAST about their future plans same day but after the highly rumored Nintendo Direct, its time boys. MS 3rd party partner announcement incoming for Nintendo Switch. For those that think MS’ announcement isn’t that, ask yourself why they STILL haven’t at least, with a simple tweet, addressed all the rumors with a “we are not going fully third party, xbox will still have exclusives” instead of “we hear you [but are not listening]” so they don’t continue getting this bad perception from alot of folks.

Anyways, I was disappointed, like many of you, to find out the Direct will most likely be a Partner Direct. But with this MS podcast announcement, I am HYPED to see the reveal of MS 3rd party support on Switch be the main event of the Partner Direct. What game(s) would you like to see announced?

All I truly want is Master Chief Collection on the Nintendo Switch

Come on Xbox fans, even you have to admit that this is a garbage way of handling this. And it just shows you that it's just a bunch of PR and they are just out to get you any way they can. The announced last week that something's coming this week only to reannounce that it's going to be in a podcast. Cheap and reminiscent of the way they run their business. It's being harsh because it's worthy of being so. They don't want you to look at their faces. And maybe it will be a video podcast but nonetheless this is a very carefully crafted PR move which they seem to really thrive on unlike making good games consistently. Unless you count acquisition of studios as part of their hard work and building their portfolio.

Got to be honest... What the hell is going on inside Xbox?

That they aren't offering a stronger response to all this negative publicity is inconceivable.

In fact, the only way I can imagine this being the case is if a complete rebranding/relaunch is planned a bit further down the line.

I think the word podcast is misused a lot these days.

But hey, this is all unprecedented, it won't surprise me if it's just audio only... one thing for certain though, nothing good is coming from this. This is not how they announce a new acquisition, a new console coming in 2026, or Xbox exclusives remaining exclusive as some would have hoped.
The decision to make every game multiplataform, the abandonment of the console business and resignations is also not how these thing are annunced...
That is, it is so strange and novel that no one can know if it indicates one thing or another.

My first impression is that it will be more of an attempt at damage control or "asking for calm" where they will reaffirm their commitment to the console business and perhaps confirm the development of new hardware (without giving dates, plans or philosophy) and embrace the "case by case" and ambiguity to save time and complete the process of facing up and responding to the fans but knowing that the doubts and unknowns will not stop.

P.S. I haven't heard anyone waiting for the announcement of an acquisition 😂. Has anyone here said to expect something like this??😅

Y'all are overreacting as always. This is their podcast format:

It is a full on show with videos and such. This has been their platform to talking directly to their fans, so they are doing it there. Makes sense when you consider all of the production tools are there and ready to go. Also, it looks like it is going to let more people know about this show, because going by the knee-jerk response here, many people don't know about it.

Y'all are ridiculous. They have said when/where they are going to give the update and now that is not good enough.

Can’t wait to see, “Comments have been turned off” on the YouTube post.

Or do they like bloodbaths?

Switch version was debunked by the OG leaker, so what he says doesnt make sense, unless they will also announce the Switch 2 there. Or we get the first Switch 2 game.

Not to rag on HiFi but going from Breath of the Wild to that for 1st game tie-in announcements is, uh, a really big drop for Switch 2 gotta say.

And in any case, I think Nintendo would want to announce a new big 1P game with the reveal of Switch 2. It's been tradition with their systems past and present.

Having this as a podcast, downplays the severity of the news. Its a smart choice.

My guess is the rebrand from xbox to microsoft gaming. Essentially 3rd party.

Also supports the consoles being made by the surface team now.

Perhaps their "consoles" moving forward will just an extension of their surface tablet or laptop range, like a gaming surface pro. (Which may be why one of the leaks said the next console would have a screen?).

The only appropriate format was a funeral announcement published in the daily mail.

I just hate they didn't just upload this and announced an announcement of the announcement. That is why I love me Nintendo. A day before you get the announcement, you have short hype cycle and then you're quickly disappointed when there's no Metroid Prime 4 or Silksong.

They are dragging this shit out longer than it needs to be. I can’t believe they made us wait for an announcement to an announcement for something they can easily address in a video or blog post today. This won’t end well.

I think you underestimate the state the fan base is in. Despite the supposed meltdowns, from personal experience it’s like a cult these days, it’s very odd. Subservient to Phil at all costs and it will still be like that after Thursday.

This is all because they have been shit and have to pivot and let’s see how many of those fans say so especially the social media clan, they won’t.

It’s alright saying “when everyone plays we all win” how about some PlayStation and Nintendo first party on Xbox? Nah, that’s laughable or not up for discussion.

And it’s alright for fellow Xbox fans to keep saying they will buy future hardware, how long will it be on the market if the demand for it keeps decreasing?

They are already being outsold with exclusive titles , what will happen when that exclusivity dwindles.

I can’t believe people still support this management. Xbox as a console could be so much better than this.
