PS5 7.00 update will allow streaming of PS5 games and Discord integration

In addition to the Discord integration, sources have revealed that PlayStation 5 games will also be streamable on the PlayStation 5 via cloud streaming (to save that all-important drive space). It was said that this feature will be included in the PlayStation Plus Premium Tier.

I don't think anyone cares about Cloud Gaming at this point.
Bull fucking shit. If it wasn't for Cloud Gaming on GP I wouldn't have played anything except for Switch games for the last three months of last year. Sony used to have a Mac app for PS Now that they killed when it became PS+. Now you can just stream on their PC app or the console, which is bullshit. They need to allow streaming on any device for what they're charging for Premium, especially since they're not really adding anything worthwhile to the classic games catalog.

I hope they’ll up the resolution on all streamed games too with this update (preferrably at least 1080p on PS3 too because it never looks like ”real” 720p).

So from now on, game streaming will be useful feature :messenger_grinning_sweat:

It's only not useful on the PlayStation. GeForce Now and GP Cloud are both useful. I think the GP Cloud network code is slightly better than GeForce though as I was able to play on more sub-par connections where GeForce wouldn't even connect.

I care! I use cloud gaming all the time (PS Now & xCloud). I'm currently playing through GoW1 for the first time ever and having a blast. I cant wait to start playing GoW2.

Having PS5 games on streaming is good news for me, means I don't have to spend on a PS5 console.

Ps premium for a year - $119 (reoccurring)

WD_BLACK 1TB SN850 NVMe Internal Gaming SSD Solid State Drive with Heatsink - $129

II would rather just buy a ssd, but if you already have premium, I guess it nice to have the option to stream if you just want to try a game out.

This is probably one of the many reasons PS5 has been hard to come by this year - a lot of chips go to streaming servers.

Wow 20M people have used a service of streaming games at least once that’s available in every device and for years and you can buy a monthly subscription for like a dollar. The future is here.

It’s certainly fascinating how Silicon Valey has managed to convince some people that test driving a car is the same as buying a car.

Car industry should start using that. And some people act all surprised when Netflix cancels shows, guess what watching half an hour of a TV show doesn’t mean people watched the whole season.

Now if only there was a way to stream the ps5 games directly from Sony servers, instead of having to remote play into a ps5 with my phone, to then stream a game on the PS5. The Xbox cloud gaming site allows us to stream directly from any smart device or web browser.

I’m currently playing Fortnite and High on Life via cloud gaming and it works beautifully.

Excellent, hope this is true, streaming will be the next big frontier whether people like it or not.
Its huge at the moment and will only get bigger the more expensive and hard to source hardware gets.

I think in the far future, xbox and Playstation become services over hardware platforms and the dominant hardware will be PC and Handheld *mob, steam deck style devices. PC for downloaded high fidelity playback and offline use and streaming for everything else.

The PS7/NEXTBOX to be small box like devices not too dissimilar to the apple TV, im here for it.

How is streaming "huge at the moment"?

This post screams "hey, im everyone"

and to the other guy, trying it doesn't mean consistently using it.

I tried cloud too, once.....and i'd be put into that 20 million. MS really loves sharing people who played or booted up a game, they do it with GP numbers too......maybe put a time limit next time or explain methodology.

Everyone's out here going crazy over cloud while I'm just happy that discord has integration with ps5.
Its unlikely but I hope it happens for the switch as well. This app needs to be on every piece of hardware thats gaming related

A new firmware update should be out soon anyway (next week or 2-weeks) because they need to patch in the Dualsense Edge features, also they should integrate Playstation Stars in the console (many people don't even know it exists because it's only in the app).

Exactly. Remember those 10M Halo players in record time? (or was it 20M?) How's that going? Did this mean it's the most successful halo game ever? Not in a million years...

Imagine streaming games…….
They keep trying to force this garbage down our throats just so they can take away ownership.

i play all my games via xcloud on my nvidia shield tv, )high on life, plagues tale requiem, persona 5, vampire survivors, somerville etc etc, all played exclusively via xcloud.)

If MS ever release the streaming only xbox i would consider that as an alternative.
