THIS IS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT, LET'S FUCKING GOOOO
That last boss was disappointing. All style over substance. The real last boss was the Valkyrie queen.Yeah its going to be Epic, but it always bothered me in the first game when i was fighting Baldur and everything was scripted cutscene, even the fight on top of the dragon they literally show the buttons on screen and you just press them and watch the cutscene plays, idk it just takes away from the combat, but otherwise i agree that it looks epic.
Looks so much better than Starfield and Zelda.
Yep.To think we still have yet to see what Santa Monica Studio can do focusing exclusively on PS5 hardware.
I cannot even begin to imagine what Sony's 1st party will be capable of by the tail end of PS5's life cycle.
No like a GoW game with Ancient Greek gods. He could also take baths with women and maybe face a titan or something.
The only thing I wish on this front is if kratos was a bit more agile in his movements, great combat is almost like a dance not a fast paced borg drone.Lots of games use a combination of canned animations and physics for combat, no? In any case, why do enemies still float in the air and slowly rotate after being launched? Surely they could have come up with something more satisfying than that. It looked dumb as hell in GoW 2018 and it stands out even more here. The combat feels like it should be vicious and impactful based on Kratos' animations, but the way the enemies react to impact outside of finishers/specials doesn't cut it for me.
Making thor big fat ginger tank was a genious idea. Also i love how he snaps his finger to call mjolnir back. Some of the PS Blog Screenshots:
No doubt, there's only a handful I can think of as well.Yep.
Its actually sickening how far ahead Sony's top dogs are ahead of everyone else in terms of visuals and production value. I mean theres really only R* outside of Sony's top guys that can match the Naughty Dogs etc.
I wish this was not the case.
I don't know if this is satire at this point or not.Meh
I know it will be good and I already pre-ordered it. But... meh. It looks too much like the first game.
Looks alarmingly generic.
Well, in any case... other action game devs have found much more elegant solutions to hitstun and impact animations from "normal" attacks, and particularly in air-juggling/combos. In the trailer when Kratos runs up and starts punching and shield bashing the elf that's floating in the air it's doing nothing but resetting it's fall animation - there's NO sense of impact or power behind the blows. It's a pretty big blemish on a game with top-notch presentation.Because it's still an action game at heart and floating enemies in that way is a sort of signal that the combo can be continued.
If you add physics in then you add in unpredictability. Games with physics based combat have never worked well. That's why you rarely see it any more, I can't think of any. If physics are added it's usually to a death animation or ragdolls on bodies.
Same, I was about to post...I really thought they were about to end with the Controller reveal. Would have been an incredible troll moment.
OBSCENELY*The new trailer looked OBSCURELY good
No one waiting for a sale, huh
