Its been well publicised that this is the very first Predator to come to earth, it isn't something I've made up.
Huh? They made an ENTIRE FILM about Predators coming to earth for THOUSANDS OF YEARS. Have they officially dropped AvP (and therefore AvP2) from canon? What about The Predator? Actually, I don't recall if that movie made an oblique reference to AvP or not, not that I care.

I don't really see any value in saying this was the first Pred visit to Earth ever. It has zero bearing on the story on screen. This being that -specific- predators first Earth hunt makes a bit more sense, but even then it's not apparent how experienced he is, just not as good as P1 predator, or at least detuned gear wise since he doesnt have to face miniguns, grenade launchers, and whatnot. Earth at this time could be classified as "bowhunting and muzzle loaders only" while later on or during an Alien outbreak it's "no tag limit, anything goes short of full auto" :p

The Predator did have an AvP Easter egg, but Prey is definitely meant to be their first visit. I'd consider AvP its own continuity at this point.

If it is their first visit and humans kill the first one, I guess that could be motivation to come back again and again.

It would make them a worthy adversary and something worth hunting.
That was the implication. Like taking a predator out on a boat.

Yeah no one is buying the one from Prey being the first one. The comics and novels that have been doing this for much longer (and better) have something to say about that lol.

The comics and novels aren't canon to the films, this is now officially considered the first visit.

I think arguing whats canon about Predator, Alien, or Terminator movies is a fruitless endeavor. Its all just kind of up to the viewer at this point lol if you enjoy it its canon.

Yeah, they actually kinda do, because that's exactly what Ridley Scott did when he made Prometheus and Alien Covenant.
lol, no, they don't. you have an incredibly misguided view of what a director's role is.

Disney owns the IP and could release the next film which completely contradicts Prey if they wanted to.

director's opinion or wants means literally nothing.

My friend, do you know what retroactive continuity is? Prometheus made AvP non canon to the Alien franchise, Prey made AvP non canon to the Predator franchise. Do not come at me with this shit if you don't actually understand what you're talking about.

there's a reason everyone in thread is pointing out how ridiculous your comments are.

but let me guess, everyone is wrong but you?

I'm going to give you one friendly advice. if everyone is telling you you're wrong, odds are you are indeed likely the one that is wrong.

what you are typing makes zero sense and you sound like a fool.

Still means she had a couple of failures which makes it harder to classify her as a Mary Sue.

With the eagle it seems clear to me that she's not sure she can make the shot and the going across the river thing to get it is her cope. And how was she sure the eagle would've turned around?

Those Apex Legends slides in the woods she and Princess Leia pull off do look silly I agree.

As is walking off a beartrap wound. :messenger_winking_tongue:

Where are the women? Yes I'm assuming gender.

I don’t see those as failures - just showcasing how she’s smarter than everyone else.

But nothing in Prey contradicts AvP. There is no in film HINT that this is the first ever visit. Some publicity materials might say it, and I've shown that the ramp up to this film had lots of silly shit in it, but after what's on screen in Prey, AvP could still happen.

I absolutely expect an earlier era to be shown. How else to do Vikings vs Predator???

Unfortunately until you make your own predator movie and make it so, it is the case.
But it literally isn't because it's never indicated in the film and one film doesn't simply erase the lore (no matter how flimsy) from tons of other creators. The *actual* earlier Pred visits were more fun anyway.

I agree with the second part

I agree with DaedalusGrim DaedalusGrim . I've never considered the 2 AvP movies as part of the Predator or Alien cannon. Just as their own separate entities.

There is nothing to indicate that they are cannon anyway.

No, he's actually been correct and most of us agree. A few people are refusing to accept the truth - something they could just Google.

The director Dan Tractenberg co-wrote the story, and with his co-writer made the pitch and got the sign off on the narrative - a narrative which retcons this into being the first visit to earth by the Predator species. Again, one can just Google this. Also retconning within fictional universes like this is extremely common and frequent. Comic books. Star Wars. Star Trek. Forgotten Realms. Take your pick.

Also who gives a shit about those awful, terrible AvP movies?

Thank you.

The first AvP is pretty fun, the second one is just unnecessarily cruel and not very enjoyable.

the david's aliens in prometheus and covenant are different from alien in LV 426 they both exist seperatly

No, Charles Bishop Weyland and Peter Weyland are two different people. AVP exists in its own fan-fiction universe.

Bcos theyre different people and charles bishop weyland are the founder? Look at the timeline of prometheus its in 2090ish way ahead of the timeline of that movie that sets in early 2000s, peter weyland are prob his son or grandchildren

AVP and Prometheus are two different timelines. They do not exist in the same Universe.

Simple rule of thumb to follow when trying to figure out connections.

Xenos exist in the Predators Universe but the Predators do not exist in the Alien universe.

I like how the Predators are into skulls. I also love skulls. I don't keep them as trophies, but I do have a glass skull, given as a gift from my brother-in-law.
