So, what the title says. The next game of Fromsoftware, (besides a DLC for Elden Ring) Is gonna be crossgen or nextgen only?

What do you expect and what is gonna end happening?

Considered that it may be 3/4 years away.
Is going to be a sequel or a new IP?

Discuss.

It'll be cross gen most likely.
Probably because their next game won't be out until next gen.

Unless it's a NOT-SOULS games.
Then it's possible it's current gen but I won't hold my breath for that.

I doesn't make any difference for me, as long as they deliver on great art direction like they always do I'm happy.

I assume it will be released in 2025/2026, so it will be next gen only. If instead they had other game under development since some years ago (since 2018-2020) ready to be released late 2023 or early 2024 I think it will be crossgen.

I'd like them to focus on releasing a PS5 only Bloodborne II even if codeveloped with someone else like Bluepoint and/or Team Asobi.

Wasn't there a rumour a while back they were developing a Playstation exclusive? Judging by the release of ER, we won't see another From game for at least another year or two, so likely current-gen is my guess.

I'm expecting an Elden Ring DLC then a current game, most likely Elden Ring 2 given how much it sold.

For the love of God, please please please drop this cross gen nonsense.

Next gen only and I don't care whether its on Series X or PS5. Just give me a next gen game.

Usually ~2-3 years between titles and that gap has been growing overtime. I doubt anyone is taking the time to port games PS4 in 2025.

They could keep making games at the same graphical fidelity of Sekiro/Elden Ring and I would be perfectly content; GPU requirements could stay fixed for current gen.

The only reason I could see them going next-gen is if they keep going down the open-world route so streaming becomes a bottleneck and forces a reliance on the SSD. Additionally, if enemy AI becomes complex enough to adopt more immersive sim elements then the CPU will be constraint to consider.

Current gen multiplat is the only choice that makes sense. Whatever game they’ll do next will be so far off that a crossgen release would be out of the question. Single platform exclusives are also dead on both Xbox and Playstation, everything is gonna end up on PC - if not at launch then sooner rather than later.

I hope they go nextgen only so we can see a bloodborne-like jump in visuals, but giving how hard is to get PS5s/SeriesXs it would make sense for them to do a last cross gen game.
