Cyberpunk 2077 next-gen upgrade gameplay PS5 and XSX

TGO

Hype Train conductor. Works harder than it steams.
Is the image sharper in 30fps-mode?

(in addition to RT-shadows)
I know someone already said that it's not but it is.
it has that slight soft look to it.
My guess is it's running at lower resolution or isn't hitting as high as the RT30 mode

No RT reflections. You confusing SSR with RT. SSR is poor man's RT reflection.
Thanks for the clarification. Maybe the description changed from 1.0 to 1.5, because now it just says RT mode offers more realistic shadows and reflections vs. what I thought said ray traced. Also turned it on to confirm it's a pretty standard/basic SSR implementation

yes, go play that game with horribly outdated mission design instead of this one with vastly superior game mechanics because of these random pedestrians you see on the road.

Still, it is immersion breaking with the more realistic visuals yet the NPC paths are inferior to GTA San Andreas. 2004 tech is somehow more impressive.

RT is very subtile - not worth the minus 30 fps IMO.

Tested out the PS5 and Series X versions.

Visually, they’re both almost identical. Only noticeable difference is that the PS5 version is slightly darker. Otherwise, no glaring differences.

But, something I did notice is that it feels like there’s a little more input lag in the PS5 version for some reason. Nothing insane, but noticeable.

Don’t kill me for this, because it could just be differences in the analog sticks of each console. But, I definitely noticed that Series X moves a little snappier.

In terms of 3D headphone audio, I tested PS5’s Tempest vs. Dolby Atmos on Series X. Clear winner, and that’s Atmos. Out of everything I tried to compare, this was the only area where the differences weren’t even close.

Hope this is a little helpful. If not, it’s cool. I don’t know you.

Real time RT reflection is very demanding graphical feature. PC gamers with RTX cards can enjoy it to fullest thanks to DLSS resolution upscaling. Sadly consoles don't have DLSS and FSR which is available for SX from AMD is not widely used by developers. So they just go for bare minimum RT options which sucks.

Do you even remember GTA SA paths? Pedestrians would literally walk off cliffs. Even on the newer games they just keep walking around in a loop around some part of town.

Not helpful in the slightest.

PS5 having more input lag than SX is not surprising coz one of the stand out feature of new SX controllers is low latency input. I also notice it especially playing Warzone and Fortnite.

I just test it in PS5. I started in performance mode and I was totally disappointed. I never played it before, I was waiting for this update. So, after a year of waiting I was expecting something more next gen, and this game screams PS4... Until I switched to RT mode. Oh my God, it's like a PS4 and PS5 versions of the same game. I think RT reflections are a waste, but this RT shadows implementation is the more next gen I saw since Rachet & Clank. Metro Exodus implementation was nice, but this is a complete new level in consoles.

It's a shame that this feature comes with the drawback of 30fps, but I prefer to enjoy a next gen game at 30fps than a PS4 game at 60fps. Just my opinion.

Where did people expect a western first-person RPG to be GTA? This comparison keeps popping up.

I guess that's the narrative that'll be used when Starfield and Elder Scrolls VI don't work like GTA.

Why is pathfinding from 2004 game need to be an unfair comparison? 2022 pathfinding should be superior to any game from that era.

Anyone else with an LG TV and VRR checked their framerate counter in busy areas? Looks like drops into the forties from what it's saying, wonder how people are finding it without VRR in performance mode.

Yeah if there were cliffs on that Cyberpunk street those people would be dead.

Why is GTA5 mission design vastly inferior to GTA 2? As a sequel from a new era, it should've been superior

I can't spot a single difference in these comparisons. Can someone enlighten me?
Look at the shelf behind the counter in the first comparison, there is a little more shading. In the second comparison, there is a curb shadow and the garbage on the street also casts a shadow. The spare wheel on the truck is lit differently. The back light reflects on the street.
The easiest thing to do is to drag both images of the comparison into a new tab and quickly switch back and forth.

I'm on an LG C1 OLED. What are y'all using for the HDR settings?

I set:
  • Maximum Brightness - 800 nits (I think that's the max luminance of C1 OLEDs)
  • Paper White - 150 (cause I hate glowy white text on dark backgrounds, i believe this only impacts UI elements)
  • Tone-Mapping Mid Point - 2 (left it at default 2 but I feel this needs adjusting)

One of two things:
These guys have been living under a rock for the past few years an know nothing about CDPR hyping up their game as the next generation of open world games.
Or they're clinically blind.

Wow looks so underwhelming now! Horizon Forbidden West has ruined it, literally.
Horizon got no RT whatsoever and world is not dense and packed..

Making open world with wide mountains, desert ans forest easier than making a dense city with so much shit happening on screen.

Cyberpunk full graphical power can only be experience on PC when all RT options enabled. It looks insanely good.

I don't remember the differences, but that's design structure and creativity. Pathfinding is coding. Games from 1990s have better design than both.

Which is pretty much all that it has going for it. Horizon may lack fancy feature like ray tracing but its a complete package. Care, polish and attention to detail everywhere. The same could be said for games like Forza Horizon 5, Halo Infinite etc.

Not sure how about PS5 but on XSX it feels like a repacked BC version, which uses new APIs for better performance, but I really don't think it looks better in any way. (Performance)
