New Halo Infinite Images reveal Enemies & Craig's new look

It was always getting delayed imo, Craig was just the final nail.

It was obvious when that dev went on Twitter and basically said it took them 2 weeks to cobble together the reveal trailer, and that was like 3 months from launch or something lol.
Lol it’s fair to say it was always getting delayed because God knows it needed it. But for someone to say it wasn’t ready for release when Microsoft were promoting it like it was ready for the series X release along with official screenshots is some bullshit.

Bruh they had a release date for it before the meme kicked them into delay town. They were going to launch the game as you saw it. It not being ready for release is something people would have said with or without Craig. It looked dookie and still doesn’t look super great. Just a bit better than before.
Nah it looks fantastic and of course they did since it's from Microsoft and a tentpole title for the Holiday release. If I had to guess 343i were already looking to ask for a delay and the negative reaction only served to act as persuasion for them to push it back to the following Holiday for MS. Spencer/Matt made the right call there.

There is and will always be a difference between a publisher telling a studio to wrap it up, and the devs themselves believing that the game is ready to go. It is not a zero sum game. This hints that the devs were already pushing for a delay, the bean counters were the ones that needed to be convinced. Craig did that.

Very happy with the updated designs.

I do feel they could do a lot more with the brute hair though, design wise. Just mohawks and goatees seems a bit boring. Different hairstyles, braids, full beards Tartarus style etc. would be good to see.

I really wish/hope they would allow these uber high quality models to be used in-game on PC. I know these are renders using source models (aka super high quality, unoptimized stuff), but let PC users push the limits. It's not like I have a 3090, but I wish it was at least out there in some capacity.

They better hope they’re not setting themselves up for more memes if the in game action doesn’t live upto these character renders. Cause we all know how this stuff works.

This is super misleading.

One is in-game, that new image is cinematic. One of the developers cautioned people on twitter. They might be setting themselves up for failure by doing this.

You're mistaken. The new image is the updated in-engine character model.

You're referring to a tweet by 343's community manager about a completely different situation.

Why is Kratos in a halo game with armor?

Reminder that "in engine" is very different than "in game".

Spoilers: Craig will look worse in the game
i mean yeah
they even explicitly state that at the beginning of the blog post "Please note: the high-res renders below are the source models captured in-engine using our development tools and don't necssarily represent exactly how they'll appear when encountered in-game. "

I don’t have a lot of faith in 343 but I am hoping for something great, it would be amazing to have a great Halo campaign. It’s been 11 years since Halo Reach. Halo 4 was mediocre and Halo 5 was total garbage.

Haha this is awesome I love it! 😁
First Halo game I’m genuinely excited to play day 1. 343 has used their extra time well. 👌

The gameplay looked good even last year, looked even better now in the new trailer, even I who really don’t play first person shooters is excited to jump in day 1 this time. It’s gonna be awesome! 👍
(I just hope they don’t mess something up with the FOV or fps so it makes me puke, it’s always a gamble in this genre for me, could never play 1-3)

Yeah it looks fine. But when it comes to Craig, he ain’t getting off so easy - too much mindshare vested in him. 🤩

Lol I think they played this out perfectly, masterclass marketing at this point, only thing I wish is that they made him an NPC with a cool story and literally named him Craig, would’ve been the perfect eastern egg for core gamers who was there from the start 😁
Now I’m guessing he’s a regular enemy and it’ll feel kinda bad just gunning him down now 😢

Nice that it goes against the trend of showing the game off with unrealistic graphics and then downgrading it
Yeah but not consciously, only through incompetence sadly.

It's a good example of why it's better to show what you actually have in the moment rather than what you want to have. You can actually get useful feedback that way.
