  • New Assassins Creed games are great
  • Sekiro is the only good game made by Fromsoft
  • Halo campaigns are bad
  • Sony games are just high quality ubisoft game clones

TLOU2 wasn't that bad (though not as good as the first) but was only severely hated by people on here that like to complain about "wokeism".... I don't even think it was a woke game....

I mean there WAS a full 3d remake for the ds. What piss me off is they base every version of iv to ds remake instead of the superior psp.
3DS remake and PS4/PS5 are definitely not in the same league but I think you know what I meant.

I did enjoy the harder difficulty in the 3DS remake versus the great PSP version.

I have another one:

2d games are boring. As someone who started playing games on PS1, 2d games never appealed to me, and I can’t understand why they would to anyone else after the advent of 3d gaming. They’re just so… limited, in every way. Not only visually (in the sense that you’re always restricted to one dimension), but from a gameplay perspective as well. What anyone sees in all these 2d indie games I’ll never understand. As cool as something like Ori looks, imagine a game with that artstyle in 3d!

The only 2d games I tolerate are cheap time-wasters you can play on your phone while waiting for the bus (and Pokémon games on Gameboy), but other than that it’s 3d all the way.

For older gamers they bring a certain sense of nostalgia.

From a technical standpoint, sure. But certain games only EXIST on a 2D plane, and changing that up changes the core of the gameplay. I also like the boxes that it stuff developers into, so that they had to really use their creativity to convey concepts that are much easier to represent in 3D. I get what you're saying, though.

Gran Turismo Sport is underrated

Gran Turismo Sport is the best Gran Turismo of the series and I started with number one on PS. People complain about the multiplayer when in reality it's the only console racing sim that has a playable multiplayer and it's a blast.

People want to collect cars and punt AI cars off the road. It's all about multiplayer these days and other sims like Forza and Project Cars still have to catch up.

Every time I said that Horizon ZD is probably one of the worst games I've ever played. Another one is - Resident Evil 4 is also one of the worst games I've ever played. I couldn't finish it and it destroyed what I liked about the franchise. That's why we had RE5 and RE6.

EDIT: Oh wait I have more.

From Software is a company that found a formula and now just keeps milking it. After Demon's Souls (the og one) they've done nothing else. All their games, from Dark Souls 1 to Sekiro are too much, they should have done something else after Demon's.
Enough with fucking Mario, Nintendo. Try something new. Try to cater to all type of gamers - having more mature centric games is not going to kill your platform. In fact, it's going to make it better.
343i killed Halo.
The best AC was AC: Rogue.
DriveClub is the best racing game I've ever played. Period.
CDPR is a bad developer. Cyberpunk has nothing on Deus Ex. The Witcher 3 is shit, and boring as hell.

- PS-style controllers are, and always will be, better than XBOX-style controllers because of symmetrical stick placement

- I don't like RDR1 and 2
- almost every Rockstar game since GTA IV is overhyped and overrated (are good/great games, but not worth 95+ metascore)

- Assassin's Creed Unity was the last good AC game, and new AC gameplay is shit
- God of War 2018 was a good game but is overrated. It's too long, traversal is cumbersome and slow, and the level mechanic is stupid

- Gamefreak is maybe the worst/lazy/untalented developer in the business, especially considering the worth of their IP
- Johto region is fucking bad

Agree with you on Horizon Zero Dawn. That game was so boring

S Saint Boot wanted a better and more nuanced thread than:

But a quick look through the thread it's clear it's quickly devolved into the usual console war baiting that has plagued the fourm for some time now.

It's way too triggering, that's for sure. I got tired of giving out triggered emotes to almost every post so I stopped somewhere early on. But rest assured, most of ya'll deserve one.

My take:

Developers have lost focus on gameplay & fun by going for the most realistic graphics.

Uncharted is boring once you know after each exploring section there will be some climbing and afterwards some shooting. You don’t need to get better in climbing or shooting it just another section.

Pokemon should have sticked to 2D (since gamefreaks seems so incompetent to deliver anything more elaborated than that) and most pokemon since gen 4 are mistakes

Gears of war games are the worst reprentation of "gamey" games ( like cliché dudebro games)

The best Forza Horizon game is Horizon 2, the latter are pale copies of it.

The gaming rating system is deeply flawed and almost every games are overated

Crash team racing is better than any mario kart game

Battle royal is the worst thing that has ever happened to gaming

Cyberpunk 2077 is the most interesting game that released recently (albeit it shouldn't have released on old gen)

Far cry 2 is by far the best entry in the serie

Dragon dogma melee combat was not really that good, zero lock on, a bit messy and samey death animations for enemies.

I tried to love that fucking game 3-4 times, even double dipped on pc but it was just not for me.

Fighting games are lame. They’re fundamentally still the same as they were thirty years ago. The genre has seen no real evolution since the days of Street Fighter 2 and Tekken 1. I would even argue that the genre never truly made the jump to 3d; they’re still limited to the same strict side-perspective they had during the 2d era (except for some ‘cinematic’ takedowns).

Bushido Blade on PS1, with its optional 1st person perspective and the ability to freely move around the arena, was the first and only time that a fighting game seriously tried to embrace all 3 dimensions (at least as far as I’m aware). Unfortunately, the game (and its sequel) seems to have been a fluke, and the genre hasn’t moved forward at all.

Ps5 dashboard. After being a little disappointed that Xbox kept the same dashboard for the series consoles. I was a little envious of the Ps5 dashboard as some reviews claim the it feels more next gen because of the new dashboard. So when I got my Ps5 I was extremely disappointed. Feels and looks barron. Can't ever search the internet. Xbox dash feels a generation ahead imo. Hopefully it should improve.
