Jeff Grubb: Everwild got rebooted after its creative director left last year, now scheduled to 2023 but could slip to 2024

Question: Hey guys, do you think we will see Everwild during E3?
Grubb: No, so...I mean, it got rebooted, this thing had to get rebooted, everyone knows the
creative director left and when he left they restarted production on that game, so it's ways off, it's currently scheduling a window of like 2023.....that game is schedule to 2023 but there's a lot of stuff schedule to 2023 from XBOX so if there is any reason to push to 2024 it will get pushed, it's easily on the zone that this could happen.

Disappointing. At least SoT is on fire and will be well supported in the mean time.. aren't they working on another project that's smaller? Maybe that'll fill the gap

give it time, we have so many games coming to Gamepass already.

the artwork and engine seems a breath of fresh air. but i understand it's harder and harder to make a matching unique game now 🤷‍♀️

There isnt much to play for series x. most are on xbox one, everwild isnt on xbox one.

Trolling? Do you believe every gamer has even played most of the best xbox one/ps4 gen titles? Some are playing Stars Wars Jedi: Fallen Order for the first time, a bunch of the Yakuza games are on Game Pass, Scarlet Nexus is dropping soon, Psychonauts 2 looks fantastic and drops in August, Halo Infinite comes this year, Forza Horizon 5 comes this year, game pass owners got MLB The Show added to the service, Yakuza Like A Dragon is gamepass bound, a bunch of Bethesda titles have been dropped on there that many have never played, or people want to revisit in light of recent Bethesda news, such as Prey, Fallout 4, Skyrim etc., Watch Dogs Legion just got a 60fps update, many still haven't played AC: Valhalla, Doom next gen upgrade is coming, Elder Scrolls Online is getting next gen enhanced (and Game Pass owners got that free also). Any and all DLC for any Bethesda games are an automatic free addition to Game Pass going forward, and I'm leaving out a shit ton of other games.

Saying there isn't much to play for Series X is just plain laughable at this stage. Gamepass makes it so that you don't even know where the hell to begin on what game to play. The choice is insane.

I just want to know what you actually do. Kinda crazy we still don't have a genre to attach to it. I would, however, much rather they take their time and release a fully realized game instead of doing something like Sea of Thieves again where it takes a year before there's actually anything to do.

Just a bunch of multi platform games...

Just a bunch of multi platform games...

This is why it's great to not be this hardcore a fanboy. Since when have games being multi-platform made them not worthy of people's time? Thank god I don't think like some of you. Games are games. Exclusive, not exclusive, irrelevant to overall enjoyment. By far the most played and purchased games on playstation are the multi-platform games. Nintendo platforms would probably be the one exception to this rule.

With every new month, the "Xbox has no games" trolling gets more pathetic. Not sure why it's allowed.

he was actually right about several games from last year's show missing the show this year.

i didnt believe him but he was right.
He only got some info right just as probably one of his friends at MS told him what is not gonna be there. which is what he tweeted one day before the show. but him and that idiot clit eastwood ( fitting first name for him ) and the other retard saying MS studios expenaded by 3 or 5 or whatever

its retards like these guys that kill the show when they overhype it with fake shit from their asses.

him being couple of times means nothing. you and I both can have educated guesses. doesn't make us insiders.

Assuming any of this is credible...

In my humble opinion, they ought to start working on something new entirely.
The creative director's influence is crucial to helping shape the vision for any game, especially one that is relatively early in its development.
The next time we see this game I doubt it will even resemble much of what we've seen in that last trailer.
I loved what what they've shown us thus far with respect to the art direction, although there wasn't any gameplay shown so it's not like I know what I was missing out on.

Jeff Chubb's E3 "leaks"

"Starfield will ship this fall"

"Xbox will announce a new game with Kojima"

"Battlefield 2042 will be on game pass day 1"

Jeff Scrubb doesn't know shit.
Especially that this info sounds as 100% speculation.

and the other retard saying MS studios expenaded by 3 or 5 or whatever
Every rummor about new aquisitions stated that they will not announce that on E3.

I mean they said they didn't even know what it was so
They never said that. They said that they didn't shown gameplay ‘because it’s still playing around with gameplay ideas’. That don't means what you think.

2024..!

No surprise it was never a game when they showed it almost 2 years ago just a tech demo.

He's just a console warrior at this point.

As a former Nintendo kid, Rareware were my fucking childhood heroes. I really hope they can knock this one out of the park. Whenever they might release this thing....

I had to look up what Everwild was, I'd completely forgotten about it. It's that Rare game.
I know they haven't shown any real gameplay yet but it certainly looked like it had potential. I think these days, as a long term Rare fan, it's hard thing to say but I really do feel that Rare could well be the weakpoint with this game, it's been such a long time that they've been able to release anything special for me that tehy don't really feel like Rare anymore.
I really do hope that they're able to turn around whatever issues they're having with this though, I'd really like to see a return to form.

Fuck rebooting this game.

Reboot Rare.

Classic N64 days Rare rebooted games all the time, I was there! Only difference is back then you could scrape a new game together from the parts of the last one in 12 months. Conker was rebooted three times.

It's important to the creative process that you can take stock and reboot, and don't always know what's going to work until you try it

It made me realise if Microsoft ndidnt purchase Bethesda they really would have had a terrible lineup never mind if they didn't buy other studios like Obsidian and etc. Their Xbox One lineup had barely any decent exclusive near end of the generation now they don't have barely anything at the beginning of this generation.

It was an absolutely beautiful trailer...and thats it. They showed it far too early. Shouldn't have shown it at all until they had something of substance. They didn't have an idea for what the game is.

Microsoft showing CG trailers for games years away just to inflate their E3 press conference.

Imagine this game is coming out in 2024, 5 years after the launch of the Xbox Series X/S console. Might as well make it for the next gen Xbox console.

It seems Microsoft aren't even ready this gen , like they weren't in their previous generation with the Xbox one. Please wait and be excited...........

WTF has happened to Rare? Back in the days of KI1+2, and DKC, they were legitimately my favorite developer. How the mighty have fallen.

That's a sign of poor design or planning. You shouldn't have to reboot a concept, if it was properly planned out. I should know, I'm currently on a design reboot. This one triggered by our CEO. Fortunately, it's just a UI update. For the base apps, I never had to reboot. We spent a lot of time in the design phase, and thought the product out well. We do have one app that's permanently in limbo, but that's because it was designed and built on a whim, despite my warnings that it overlapped with functionally with an app I'd already built. So that product will definitely need a full reboot it it's ever going to be released.

I'm the end, rebooting is a cash sink. You should avoid it at all costs. Better planning is the solution. Know what you want to build before you start building it. The old adage: measure twice, cut once.

It depends, if you are rebooting generic Ubisoft open world game 15, then yes, you fucked up.

But if you are trying something completely original then it's fine to take a step back if something just isn't working or simply not fun. GoldenEye was an on rails shooter for most of its development.

You can't plan a perfect game, you can only plan the mechanics, story and world so far until you need to prototype something to confirm its viable.

The Nintendo approach is start with the controls and expand from there, you really cannot plan too far ahead with this method as it's very hands on, and involves constant prototyping and reiteration.
