This poll has to do with lack of MSFT first party AAA games releases on XSS/XSX?

There is glaring lack of first party AAA games for XSS and XSX.
CGI galore at last Xbox show, all the games shown seem years a way!

Will we see some real release dates for 2021?

We already have confirmed AAA releases for 2021. Stand down soldier, the console war hasn't started yet. Don't get kicked before then!

While FS2020 is a great looking "game" on PC, for console it will still be niche and most people will try it but i do not believe the majority of the mainstream will really care.

This a typical niche and hardcore game you want to play with a great setup and not with the controller.

So no...it's in no way a system seller.

I hope so. My PS5 is getting all the love while my Series X gathers dust. Gimme something MS- I want you to show me the exclusive powers of the most powerful console/mesh shaders/full RDNA 2.

This is bait and a bad one too with FS coming this Summer, Psychonauts 2 is after, Halo Infinite is this fall, and many others that was announced last year
I was inspired by another fresh poll.
Psychonauts 2 should be quite ready. i consider it an AA game. (also unclear if it will be on PlayStation too)
I think MSFT is waiting for E3 to say its available in GP day1.

Halo is an option on the poll.

it will be on PlayStation 4, that's been the case since always.

lol I think Halo is definitely gonna make it this year, but after seeing Horizon slip, I dont have faith in Starfield shipping.

None of the games they showed in CG form last year are getting released this year or the next. 2023 at the latest. Even Forza was EARLY pre-production lmao.

Both console makers have been resting on their laurels. Like wtf is going on. We have moved away from 5-6 year generations to 7 year generations and these multi-billion dollar companies are still not ready. Awful management.

Hope we get a surprise Forza Horizon 5 next gen only game later this year but i dont know why they wouldnt have revealed it last year. Not a fan of this franchise, but I really hope to see a next gen looking game from MS this year.

Microsoft Flight simulator isn't first party. It's made by the independent studio Asobo.

Halo, forza and flight simulator so 3

Microsoft Flight Simulator count too, right?

Its an option on the poll.
Still, unsure if 2020 game re-released in 2021 counts.

Made by Asobo the independent developer behind a Plague Tale. Not first party.

First of all, the OP did not ask about system sellers. Secondly, looking at all the people I see literally begging for the console port every time Microsoft posts anything about it, you may be surprised by whether it's "niche" or not.

Here's a bit of history for you. Flight simulators haven't always been niche. 15-20 or so years ago they were among the most popular AAA games in the times of the earlier MSFS titles, Microsoft, and Lucasarts.

They became niche basically because Microprose overextended and died and Microsoft withdrew from the market, leaving the field to crap developers (at least from the point of view of being able to marketing their sims to a wider audience) like Laminar Research and Lockheed Martin, who have done zero to widen the community and pigeonholed the genre into a niche.

On the other hand, developers of other kinds of simulators (racing, train, farming, and so forth) stepped in and filled the gap with their own games for a less twitchy shooty kind of gameplay, which many people do want.

Microsoft Flight Simulator isn't "hardcore" at all. Its default aircraft are absolutely fine flown with a controller, and if you simply use it to "fly around and see places," which is a very viable kind of gameplay, even more so nowadays when many people can't fly around and see places, it's absolutely accessible. There's a reason why "sim" games have become more and more popular nowadays, including walking simulators. This can easily be used as a walking simulator, but in the sky.

You can underestimate it all you want, but you'll likely be proven wrong.

Yes.

False. It's published by Microsoft and co-developed by Microsoft. It's first-party exactly like Bloodborne.

I'd assume Halo, FlightSim and Psychonauts will release this year. Not sure about anything else.

games published by Xbox or PlayStation are considered first party. That's always been the case. Returnal is first party. Ori is first party.

How are you going to say MICROSOFT Flight Sim isn't first party lmfao.

If it isn't made by an studio they own I don't consider it first party. It's no different than playing for exclusivity. Unless they co-develop the game in which case it's a muddy situation at best.

I’d be as happy for getting FS2020 on my console as I was for getting Farmer Simulator on PS+.

That was probably the worst month ever.

Less than a week to wait until we find out what's still on schedule for this year but I think we can say that there is definitely going to be something.

I think A Forza, FS, Halo, Psychonauts 2 are highly likely with maybe one or two surprises (although likely not AAA)

We should be getting into the realms of the new studios beginning to come through with their games this year or next too so i'm expecting to see quite a lot of stuff at E3 that is not too far out.

What you personally consider what is pretty much irrelevant. MSFS is absolutely first-party. It's published by Microsoft, co-developed by Microsoft Game Studios, and Microsoft directly handles all of its services. It's no less first-party than Bloodborne.

You really consider Demon's Souls not to be first party? Or Spider-Man 2018? Or Any Ratchet and Clank game prior to 2019? Death Stranding? All of those are Sony IPs. Published by Sony on their console. It's first party.

Not to mention it runs on the ForzaTech proprietary first party engine too.
