Great to hear, I'm focusing on beating xbox /3rd party games so I could then dedicate my time for the ps5 , I'm in no rush by any means this generation, I'm just being reasonable and realistic when it comes to buying what I'm really going to play .

There are on both sides partisan double standards, but I have seen nobody on the PS side showing a Cult of Personality for Ryan like Phil Spencer gets from his fanbase (nothing will stick to him no matter if he criticised exclusives one day and buys a developer or gets a timed exclusive the next, being Xbox Games Studio GM has no responsibility of anything that happened, he can speak I’ll about console wars and fanboys and he still employs people like Greenberg that make of console warrish trolling online an art form, etc…).
If we stop pretending exclusives are everything, then Spencer - no, the Xbox team has a good track record of doing pro consumer things because they are being crushed by their competitors.
Pushing cross play, the first console platform to offer refund, made bc work last gen etc.
My post was just a teasing post to that edgy post I replied.
Spencer gets positive response because the things they do, mixed with some negative posts.
Ryan gets a lot of negative responses at the moment because he don't really say anything, or does things people don't like like destroying Japanese studios, mixed with some positive posts.
And then there's the fanboys on team Green and blue that sees everything in black and white, which the poster made a supreme example of.

I have not seen a level of fanaticism / cult of personality similar to that towards a CEO in Sony since the KK days, but even then.
The fact that we are comparing the response from each of the canvases towards their respective Boss as if they were the same is also a bit sad…

Doesn't really help that Sony was the first with it, only to ditch it later. They should have sticked with it.
The thing I said, or meant, is Microsoft does so much right by supporting this where Sony the last couple of years outright are against things like these.

I agree on you that Spencer has a following where Ryan doesn't, but the PlayStation department alone seems to have more praise than Spencer.
These people defending sonys defence against cross play that they didn't want to play against these edgy kids. Defending 70 and even 80 euro games with greatness costs money.
Some defended no digital refund with people should buy physical or do their research before buying a game.
So on team Green where its one person gets all the praise (even though there's a whole department behind him) whereas PlayStation as a whole gets the same praise.
It's stupid either way. People are seeing them as friends that benefits them while they are nothing but wallets.

They surely had a good telemetry to see who plays BC games. Sony never was against BC games. BC games is a nice feature to have, not a selling point and never was. Also, they were never against crossplay ( there was a problem with console crossplay, but never with PC and Android platform)

That's true. But they were specifically against cross play with xbox AFAIK.
And while bc isn't the true selling point, it's not bad to have as many features as possible to make the whole package better and more appealing.

That's true. If I recall correctly wasn't that one of the reasons the game didn't launch on Xbox as well?
Thankfully both platforms seems to be more open to things like these, and I think the backlash would be more today if either decided to disable things like these.
It's just recently Microsoft decided to make f2p games not require gold, something PlayStation never had required.
But while Sony always had this policy, it still gets praised from Spencer because after all its a new thing and positive move from them compared to before.
