I've been a gamer for a long time, mainly on console, but I have had a few gaming PC's over the years (I started on PC). I usually buy all the game consoles (the only Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, and Sega consoles I have not owned are PS1, Original Xbox, Sega Saturn, and game gear). I stopped PC gaming because I found it too expensive, as I was always trying to keep up.
I got a launch Xbox Series X, but with Covid and everyone home I found I could never get the TV time to play. Now that I'm working from home, the wife let me know she's sick of me always being around so I decided to turn the spare bedroom into a gaming room. Since my gamepads ultimate subscription includes PC, I figured I could spend my money on hardware instead of a whole new game library for a different system (the PS5 hasn't really given me a reason to want one yet anyways...).
I ended up purchasing an I7,j RTX3080 with 32gb ram, along with a 240hz 1ms monitor. I must say, I'm pretty excited to be back on team PC. I gotta hand it to Microsoft, incorporating a single service / eco system between Xbox and PC was a great Idea. Not making their games exclusive to Xbox only will be much better for me, and help drive this purchase. Now I can play on the PC, or on the couch in front of the TV without any hassles. Personally, I think Microsoft is nailing it these days.
Not sure why so many people care if games are exclusive. Personally I think it is better if all games were on all the systems so you can play will any friends you have, and jump ecosystems easily.
