If Halo: Infinite wasn’t meant for Series X, then they effectively had nothing to offer for the launch of their new console. They‘re selling a PC with proprietary memory cards.
343 seems to be having issues and so does the Xbox division. If they’ve had since the Xbox One (not the One X) to work on this game, then they missed previous gen, they missed mid-generation, and then they missed next-gen. Something is terribly wrong over at Xbox and they need to clean house again.
To try and dismiss a remake of a fan favorite, genre-defining game, and what would be the spark that lit From Software’s future on fire, by the best studio to do it, as “remastering a PS3” is disingenuous. That’s just the hardcore fans covered. They also launched Spiderman: Miles Morales, Sackboy, and Astro’s Playroom preloaded on the console. As I said above, they covered all consumer bases and Demon’s Souls was a game you can only get on PS5.
Sony has reasons to buy their console because they have great games you can’t get anywhere else and on top of that, they have third-party support. This isn’t Sony’s best lauch at all, but comparatively, Microsoft didn’t even show up. It’s not that they’re not capable, but something’s off over there. This is launch number two in a row they fucked up. I’m a Sony fan and won’t buy an Xbox, but it doesn’t make me happy to see potential wasted.
