Wait, when did that happen? I wouldn't be surprised if it got pushed back (it's been that kind of year,) but the Xbox/Steam listings still list 2020 and there's nothing on Neon Giant or Curve about a delay, are you sure you're thinking of the right game?

It would have been cool if they could have released some kind of multiplayer-only product, like a handful of classic maps in the Infinite engine or some Master Chief Collection Sampler pre-installed on the drive or something. It's just weird that there's those Halo commercials on TV for XSX (which must have been retooled from an intended Xbox/Infinite combo campaign) but then never mention that the console is getting a new Halo some day.

I think you're right and its still 2020.

Launch lineups are never that impressive. I don't understand the pre-order craze when all there is to play are mediocre launch games.
Idk if I'd agree with that.
Xbox, Dreamcast, Switch all had really good launch titles, and I'd argue that PS5 this gen is pretty up there, its definitely better than the PS4 and PS2's. People complain about some of the PS5 games being cross-gen (like Spider-Man and Sackboy) but I think its good Sony isn't completely dropping previous gen yet. Funny how when everyone initially thought Spider-Man was PS5 exclusive, I saw a ton of posts and threads here saying Sony hates supporting older consoles (which is always a fucking lmao, PS2 and PS1 had incredible legs past their gen) and they just want to drop the PS4 already.

The problem is that while the Series X itself is a super well-designed console, the launch titles are incredibly pathetic, theres nothing here that even looks like its taking any advantage of the new hardware beyond resolution or frame rate. Even the Xbox One had a better launch line up than this. I think what hurts Xbox even more is that the only things to look forward to we only know about from CGI trailers or extremely brief gameplay that was recorded from PC and not the Series X. The only game that got ANY of its gameplay shown off was Halo Infinite, and we know how much of a disaster that was (lol).
Meanwhile the PS5's launch window games like Ratchet and Gran Turismo 7 have gotten shown off pretty extensively already, you KNOW what you will be getting in the near future.

I'm genuinely curious as to how the same people in here saying this is sad also justified their launch ps4. I was one of those people and the launch exclusives were objectively worse games than these. Gears Tactics is better than any game on the ps4 in it's first 6 months of life, maybe even it's first year. Fucking fanboys are so quick to forget.

These will be launch exclusive to Xbox consoles when the Series X launches in November.
So Xbox does have games.

I think both companies are banking on Cyberpunk 2077 coming out close to launch to be a big part of their lineups. It seems smart to allow your big exclusives to launch when there is not much 3rd party competition especially such an anticipated game as CP2077.

If I was Microsoft I would be working extremely hard to try to get the next gen upgrade for CP2077 to Xbox first ASAP. If they can get a better looking/performing upgrade then ps5 and they get it first, it would be pretty big for them I think.

of 2020, which only feels like forever ago...

But chances are that the port was held so that there was a new game to promote with the console launch, so kind of some marketing sleight-of-hand there if that was the tactic...

A second chance would be good. Microsoft barely promoted Gears Tactics when it first launched, and I thought versions had launched simultaneously, so was wondering why suddenly this game was being treated it as a special event for Xbox Series when gamers could have been playing it on XOX all this time and just didn't, but I was wrong.

We COULD have been playing Gears Tactics on our Xbox One's

Coming November 10, 2020 to Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S

I'm looking forward to it, I really don't care how fugly it looks on my base Xbox One, I just finished Wasteland 3, can't get uglier than that.

Also the Falconeer is coming to Xbox One, quite a few of those games listed are. It's great that dead gen will still be getting attention, I hope that they truly move on though sooner than the previous gen. I have no interest in buying a new Xbox or PS5 right now, if I don't "have to" so a dull launch works for me.

At least its new content? Like what the fuck am I reading? Gears Tactics has been out for nearly a year now, its just a straight port, how is that an even remotely comparable example to a NEW GAME (Miles Morales is an expansion and is a standalone game so its still brand new content) and a complete graphical (and possibly gameplay) remake of an 11 year old game?

I'm sorry but Microsoft's launch line-up might be the worst I've ever seen in console history (I can't think of a single console in the past that didn't launch with an exclusive of some sort). There's literally not a single compelling game that you can't already get elsewhere, including PC. Like, PS2's launch was pretty bad but it AT LEAST had some exclusives like Tekken Tag Tournament.
Sigh.... Tactics has not been out on a console.. hence why they call it a console exclusive. Not that hard. New content or not, console players who don't own a gaming PC can now play it. So the content to them is new.

Miles Morales may have a new story, but lets be honest.. it's the same Spiderman game in a different wrapper.. plus it isn't exclusive to the PS5. I'll still be able to play it on my PS4 Pro. Godfall is a PC release as well, so its not exclusive. And Demons Souls looks like a almost verbatim update of an older title. Neither console has what I would consider a stellar line up.

For me I am more excited about games like The Medium, the Falconeer, and th Ascent than I am about the 11th Rachet and Clank, the 16th Final Fantasy, or a refresh of a 2 year old game. That's just me. And fortunately I have a gaming PC so I'll just play them on that.

I am gonna be honest, those aren't the games Xbox would make me "force" to buy a Series X immediately. Sure they got better games coming in the future, but Sony has the far better launch games that make me say "holy, i need a PS5 at launch".
To be fair, neither one's good enough for me. Comparing who sucks less doesn't end well, anyway.

For me -

1. Bright Memory. Very hyped for Bright Memory Infinite in 2021 but this short prologue demo looks great and im looking forward to playing this to get ready for Bright Memory Infinite.

2. Gears Tactics. Have been wanting to play this since it released on PC earlier this year. Very happy that it's a console exclusive launch title and I get to play it on Game Pass for $10 instead of buying it for $60.

3. Crossfire X campaign. Don't know if the campaign will be available at launch or even November/December but that's what I care about. Have zero interest in the multi-player aspect.

4. Second Extinction. I'm 50/50 on this game. I know they're in Early Access so a full release isn't happening until 2021 so I will be waiting.

5. The Ascent. This is a day one purchase for me when it releases. Still scheduled for 2020 but I wouldn't be surprised if it gets delayed to 2021.

6. The Falconeer. Looks great and im looking forward to playing it. Wish it was on Game Pass though. Oh well.

The official launch lineup and November/December lineup overall should be announced before the end of October. I'm just waiting until then to see everything so I can finalize my own list. Hehe.

Looks like a bunch of 6-7 out of 10s.
Lol what is this a joke? I played gears tactics on PC months ago, MS has a really strange definition for what an exclusive is
Goddam thats a terrible line up. Lmfao
wake me up when there is elder scroll 6 (so I can get that for my PC).
Weak sauce line up
Damn..Spider and Demons will sell like crazy.
Pre-order cancelled.
Name one of those worth playing.
Weak ass lineup and if anyone tries to defend this, good luck.
It warms my heart to see so many Xbox fans here excited about the launch titles. Good to see you guys elevate the discourse. Just a quick question. When have launch titles represented the best of what a platform offers?

They don't and I never said they did?
Mmm... Miles Morales is an expansion of a AAA title and cross gen. I loved Spiderman and look forward to playing this on my PS4, but I don't get the praise for either lineup.

I don't see your point and it isn't an expansion but that's besides the point. It's still a game, it's still in the launch line up.

Also said both lineups were shit. Honestly if it wasn't for Miles Morales I wouldn't even get a PS5 at launch and I'd happily just stay on my PC playing Cyberpunk instead.

I think I am going to have too much to play between Bright Memory, Second Extinction, Crossfire X, and Gears Tactics. That will keep me busy for a few months at least.

I love the main FPS games that I regularly play (Destiny 1, Halo 5, TitanFall 2), but some new blood is always welcome. Just wish we had an FPS Perfect Dark as well.

Suffers from extreme PDS
Miles Morales is a AAA title, we are getting a good remaster of Spider-Man and for a family/kids game there is Sackboy at least.

Both are weak, but I much prefer Sonys lineup.
Both of those games launch day and date on PS4 as well. So I don’t see how that impresses you other than this post being FUD.

I don't have a PC so I'm really looking forward to playing Gears Tactics which looks awesome.
Somebody said here that there are no AAA in here, but from what I have seen Remedy's SP portion of Crossfire looks pretty much AAA for me.
Second Extinction isn't really my thing, but I will check it out for visuals.
I have a feeling Call of the Sea will be a pleasant and unexpected surprise.
I'm so sold on The Ascent which I'm the most hyped for. Falconeer videos showed a super promising game, as well.
Bright Memory is probably going to suck and I have my reservations about Medium.

So, yeah, a pretty good line-up to be honest.

I'm really just want to know if Scorn is releasing this year. That is Microsoft's stand out exclusive.

Why Microsoft and why Xbox Series X exclusivity?

The authenticity of the game and being able to develop it as we conceptualized it is the highest priority. Before deciding to partner with Microsoft we made sure that they will not have any influence over the game's concept and development process. They were more than cooperative in that regard. The only thing they were interested in was exclusivity rights. Once all that was agreed upon it was a no brainer decision when you look at all the benefits Scorn will get from this partnership, from additional resources to much bigger exposure(marketing). It will certainly help us make Scorn a better, polished game in the end.
If that would be the case they would have mentioned the release date, or at least '2020'. Or '2021' if they were planning to release it let's say in the first half of 2021 or so. It isn't the case, so won't be released anywhere soon.
