First time I heard this. This is even required for offline, single player. The information can be found on the official PlayStation site. I still plan on getting Godfall, but for me this unexpected and even disappointing.

I understand why games like mmo's need to always be online, but this is a game with a single player component, so if one day the servers are shytdown, wich we know will happen, i can't play my single player game anymore?

It's probably a thing where they will have weekly/monthly content pushes at some point where some new legendary polearm can be obtained through some difficult challenge and this is their way to keep people engaged instead of just hacking their save file.

I don't see why the Ps+ thing is surprising though. Every online only game that isn't F2P requires Ps+.
Some people also seem to be forgetting Sony is neither developing nor publishing this, it's a third party timed exclusive. Are we also going to blame Sony if there's something wrong with FFXVI or MS if Stalker 2 doesn't live up to expectations?

The game looks fun (more so after that last in-depth gameplay trailer). I want the game to be good, but if it is forced online and requires PSPlus on *top* of that, I just can't agree that the game would be worth purchasing. That is anti-consumer practices as blatant as they can be.
Give the folks an option for instant updates by connecting online, but don't force it.

Optional? Co-operative online multiplayer is the main hook of this game. Sure, there probably be some bullshit 8 hour campaign for single player casual scrubs but that’s not the game
They’re not punishing anyone. They’re making sure their game won’t be broken by using technology accordingly.

Two reasons.
1. Offline guys will hack and cheat, and then jump online n MP mode and dominate
2. Never trust a dev saying "no microtransactions". They want everyone online so when the microtrans do come out, even just a few % of people buying stuff adds to the corporate coffers.
