Only people which should never be catered to on this sort of stuff are tasteless average Joe’s and cheap ass gamers who can’t afford anything better than awful LCD’s.

I hate per-object motion blur!

Said no CG artist, CRT/Plasma/OLED/DLP projector owner ever.

It’s a fugly cheap effect that is a lazy crutch for too many movie makers and game designers.

Nothing to do with “cheap awful lcd” screens at all.

Motion blur is the star wipe of the 2000’s.

Just say you don’t know what you’re talking about and we’re done, it’s alot quicker.

Motion blur is the reason film footage looked fluid since the start of the past century, the reason Go-Motion replaced Stop-Motion in the late 80’s, the reason Jurassic Park switched to CG in ‘91 changing the world in the process (Spielberg hated the lack of) leading us where we are now.
In late 2000’s, the reason 30fps games looked acceptable.

It has much to do with LCD’s since this awful cheap ass piece of tech (which i hate for the simple reason it killed plasma’s, being much cheaper to produce) introduces various degrees of blur not present in the source, killing the supposed look of the source in the process.

Back at you, now we agree on something.
Nice of you to attack me when I wasn’t directly attacking you, shows your argument flaws up front.

I’m not the one laughing like a schizofrenic child at the simple facts i was reporting.

And stating that you don’t know what you’re talking about is not an attack, saying that who enjoy an hardware-expensive piece of tech with multiple benefits are not good people and should not be catered to, on the other hand..

Doesn't look better, just more saturated in the colors and...more ulgy in art direction. Still uninterested but will make a nice F2P

Not 100% accurate but it hurts my head a little.

I really appreciate the hard work they put but what is it ? .. I'm not buying a game for lighting or reflection or RT to feel the nextgen .. sorry it doesn't work like that

Graphics have been improved, and I like a lot the art design. Also it looks fun to play, I'll stay tuned.

This game doesn't look great. Don't know, the graphics are technically great, but visually it looks like a mobile game with color saturation and particle FX tuned up to 11.

3 player co-op melee action game. Sounded kinda like melee Destiny, but instead of the different classes, they had different elements. They've yet to show much of the co-op feature in action though. Like Boss Mog Boss Mog said, this might do better as a PS+ game. At least then it'll be sure to have a big enough userbase to make the co-op feature work. Otherwise, I can see this one getting lost in the shuffle.

I guess we'll have to see how it reviews as well. It could be one of those sneaky fun games that no one expected to be any good.

Lol a lot of people like me disable blur in games and i only play on oled tv and mostly on a powerfull pc.

Some people want clarity when they turn the camera, not a blurry mess to help with 30fps on console (the most common use for this thing in gaming)

Most people i know who play on pc disable this shit (even with 0 gain on perfromance) and even on console some games have the option to disable it.

Looks fucking horrible.
For sure, this is not going to be a 90+ rated game, but the graphics do look good and has lots of the next gen GPU features implemented. People complained that the A.I was bad, I suggested it was just placed on super easy for demo purposes, it seems the devs have upped the difficulty level for the latest demo, as expected....The gameplay therefore looks much more satisfying....

I think this will be a game many play online at launch. It will have it's following and has potential to blow up. I think it will do well based on it's accessibility for casuals and also it's depth of combat for better players....
Yep that looks like a launch title game to me.
Actually it is........

Yeah, that was an error on my part for wanting to be inclusive. OLED’s also introduce motion blur not present in the source.

That is camera motion blur, not the per-object motion blur on which i was discussing.
Clarity during pannings would never result in fluidity in 30fps games, and since the vast majority of games on consoles target those camera blur of some extent is also essential.

Most people i know who play on pc disable this shit (even with 0 gain on perfromance) and even on console some games have the option to disable it.
Actually the vast majority of console games have had these options since the start of the generation due to the constant bitching, that’s why i think still complaining about it is ridiculous at this point.

Granted, some games have awful motion blur implementations that look like shit no matter the technology on which they are displayed, but that’s not the point.

It still looks like a prettier Too Human but boring in some way. This will be a hard HOLD type of game for me. Certain games are just a BUY and you know you'll gonna buy them.

Should have gone with a tighter and more deliberate melee combat system as in God of War. The industry's moved on and this looks like something from 10 years ago.

Hmm
-looks generic
-its too souldbourney
-you have to have PSplus to play!
-its not colorful enough
-its too colorful

-i hate the art
-$70
-Weird trailer reveal

I cannot understand all the hate for this game.... oh wait i got it

-Its not on Xbox!

That’s probably easier said than done especially when the developers might not be proficient in melee, close range combat games. I think the combat looks serviceable for a non-Japanese game. I must commend these guys for trying to create a game like this because it seems like most Western developers have serious challenges when trying to create a competent fighting engine and just shy away from them altogether.

I wonder why that is... western devs now had decades to learn from Japanese developers. you'd think by now some would get how to do it, but DmC still stands there as the only western game coming close (they also had tons of help from japanese Capcom staff apparently, so maybe that's why)

If it's a ps plus online only game... then it's a pass! Same thing if it's an epic store online only game for pc!

Personally, I think it comes down to talent and familiarity. I think most Western developers are more familiar with shooting mechanics and PC-style games that favor mouse and keyboard controls that don’t really require the same amount of strict, frame-heavy and in-depth programming like a DMC, Ninja Gaiden or Tekken. Japanese developers seem more used to console style games that favor the controller which require fast reflexes, smooth frame transitions, depth and responsive combat. Hack and slash, close combat and fighting games in general are just normally more complicated to create and get “right”.

You are right though. That is a bit of a mystery why more Western developers haven’t really been able to pick up how Japanese combat works, feels and looks though after all these years. 🤔🤔
