Game is fantastic, I love it, I wasn't expecting much and I hated the art style when it was first revealed, but it grew on me.
Playing on battletoad difficulty online with a friend (via parsec) has been a great experience, I just wanted to test it out and ended up playing 3 hours straight.

Sad thing is that there are actually some quality games on gamepass, it's just that they are not published by Microsoft so the level of exposure those titles get to shilling is zero.

Isn't Battletoads at like, a 70+ meta? It's a $20 digital title.
GamePass has also given us Flight Sim, Ori, and Gears Tactics this year. Three great games with good meta scores. This week we'll also get Tell Me Why and Wasteland 3. Microsoft has delivered some great stuff this year on GamePass but everyone acts as if it's all Crackdown 3 or Bleeding Edge, lol. I don't get it. Not that either of those games "suck", either.
I don't think you have been around these parts long. Only negative xbox news and narrative get attention. The gears tactics, wasteland 3 and flight simulator will be ignored and straight for games that can be used to attack gamepass and Microsoft. Ever since the Sony reveal this play has changed when Sony was pumped up to win the power crown but did not. Now it is all out war and since it is 95% Sony fans here you get the idea. The bitterness over the let down of 13tf has made this a mess.

Crackdown 3 is a bad game, and the fact that is on gp doesnt make it any better.

Well 6.3 User and the thing is, most Xbox owners, myself included, have gamepass.
I'm not sure what reason you would have to keep owning an Xbox if you don't have gamepass unless you live somewhere remote without data access.
Majority of Xbox players probably did not pay for this besides their usual subscription fee. I'm 37 years old, I grew up with Battletoads and this is a disservice to the originals, the game in my opinion is shit!
Flight Sim, Ori and Gears Tactics are good yes but they are not in the same league as what Sony is delivering, Microsoft needs to do better than that.
Reviews say flight simulator actually is right there with the best Sony has to deliver and if was in the right genera would be up for game of the year. That is the problem Sony discord has moved the goal posts to only 3rd person cinematic games and Nintendo games count as great first party games. With a 30-1 ratio of fans it has stuck. Fuck that I want games like gears tactics, avowed, fable, grounded ect. When I want the urge for Sony style games I'll play them on a PS5 slim. Screw Microsoft being a shitty knockoff of Sony.

I am having a lot of fun with the game. I can't agree with some of the bad reviews. I guess some of the reviewers haven't played many bmups recently. This game, for now goes just behind SOR4 on my list of bmups.

I completed Streets of Rage but maybe I didn't spend enough time with the combo system. I knew you could charge in between combos to keep up the hits and use your ex anytime . There's no dash but characters have dash inputs and back attacks and so on. It has depth but I think you can do more in Battletoads.

The game is good, don’t see what the problem is? It’s not AAA game but it was never meant to be, Sony’s games ain’t for everybody either. I own a PS4 and loved Spider-Man but dislike god of war. Yes that’s just me, everybody has different taste and this is one of those marmite games that some are loving and some are disliking. Nothing wrong with that, doesn’t mean Microsoft are bad for producing this game

Yeah, the combo system is where the depth is. Adam for example has a dash, and between his EX moves and charge attack you can set up some crazy juggles and combos. I'm only so-so at this stuff -- I'd have to point you to the top players for a proper demonstration. (Maybe iconoclast?)

That feel when I thought this was a review thread but then I see it has been derailed into more "war" stuff for some reason.
Hopefully we can get back on track. I played the game more this weekend. While I do think it is still a 6/10. The game grew on me some more. This feels like some weird Saturday morning kids cartoon than it does a game. I actually kinda want them to make a show using the same artistic talent. They would just need to hire new/better talent for writing. I do plan on beating the game soon but I spent the time beating Carrion(much better experience than BT) and playing other titles. Not sure if I will touch Battletoads difficulty(blasphemous right). I just kinda want to get through this game and not touch it again
Also I feel like Dotemu should've made this game. Streets of Rage 4 is so good!

I took a look at the video with iconblast Adam is dope and I was doing similar things but to a lesser amount. Both good combo system and a little more stricter timing for sor but to each it's own.
Did anyone really expect anything else? Of all the IPs to bring back
Honestly, if they had plans to turn Battletoads into a legit Saturday morning cartoon, then it's an even smarter reason to bring it back.

I'd argue it's the right IP to bring back, it shows the MS is dedicated expanding their portfolio with a variety of games that appeal to different people, and I commend them for that, I had zero interest in almost all Xbox exclusives, the only two titles I enjoyed are KI and Rare Collection.
If Microsoft had these games as an exclusive on the Windows store, I wouldn't mind buying them, but they're giving us the choice of buying them on steam, so I truly respect them for that.
I also have my eyes on grounded, but I have my plate full atm.

I only played the first level, but had some fun with it. I'm no expert of beat'em ups, but also played Streets of Rage 4 recently, and enjoyed Battletoads more. The combo system felt more modern, there's a larger variety of moves and crazy animations. Also the ability to switch characters is enjoyable (I suppose that was in the old games too ?)
Sometimes it gets too busy though, and I'm not too fond of some of the key combos (like RT+Y+L to eat a fly, really ?).
I'll probably go back to it when I get tired of UnderMine

Flight Simulator 2020 is above anything Sony has delivered. And not just from a technical and visual standpoint. The mere nature of the genre, coupled with the previous, is attracting a lot non-gamers into the fold who are simply curious and fascinated by it.

It is a Microsoft game that got a big score hence the down playing. The usual warriors are bent that asbo beat Sony to the punch of putting out the first nextgen game and doing anything in their power to discredit it. From the ridiculous that asbo did not model ever city in the world like ny city in spiderman lmao to it is not a game. All over asbo getting to nextgen first with a game that rivals naughty dog technically.

Load the game up and fly the a320 neo with all assists off.
Please record your footage and show us how it went.

I agree with you but Flight Simulator is not considered a game by general standards and was historically a PC game, it's not like it was made exclusively for the Xbox gamer. It's an Xbox title because obviously Microsoft.
My comment was more Sony delivering this whole generation in general in comparison to Xbox. Flight Simulator alone does not make up for it.

Its a simulator and a great simulator and yes its a game but the general standard being a game that is not marketed for the general majority of console gamers. There's no defined standards, its just common sense.
Maybe before trying put your 2 cents in you should research for yourself who the demographics are for the Xbox console.
