That's up to them if they want to move copies. This mess will certainly bottleneck those numbers & damage their reputation.

I hear you. But their reputation will NEVER be determined by PC gamers. Playstation gamers are the ones that matter for them. PC Gamers for them are like 2nd class citizens.

If you’re going to make a PC port, you might as well make a good PC port. PC gamers have very high standards and most devs have risen to that. If this port is less than good, well I won’t kill Sony for it but they need to shape up going forward.

Doesn't stop Microsoft wanting to buy WB though.
(This is an Arkham Knight dig)

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
Play it on (very) hard otherwise you will get bored by dodgeroll spam + normal bowshot and that's all it takes to finish the game at lower difficulties.
Already did that on PS4.

Did they introduced more difficulty levels after launch? I remember so but I'm not sure.

this gen has probably soften that a little.
lots of port come with minimal effort and seems to sell fine enough (since more and more port are coming).

It looks like this port is good, just not great. That shouldn't be a problem for most PC gamers I'm assuming.

So are PC folks are looking to be upset because they didn't go out of their way to include some super high res textures that weren't in in the game to start?

What was the native resolution on PS4 Pro? I know it was 3840x2160 *with checkerboard rendering but did we have the actual pixel-count?

The rendering resolution is 1920x2160 (in a checkerboard pattern, duh), the output resolution is 3840x2160. The UI runs at native 4K.
Not all that surprising then. The 2080 Ti delivers just over twice the performance of the PS4 Pro outputting 4x the amount of pixels. Still expected it to hit higher but oh well.

Not awful but also not great. I had sky-high hopes for GG.

Cool for those who did not play it on PS4 but it's not a game you double dip even with the PC benefits. The open world tedium is a lot. I thought about it but after still playing Ghost theres no way I can handle another open world that was already boring as hell when I first played it. Maybe I'll give it a try before HZD2 when it's cheap on Steam and probably some cool mods out there.

I got the platinum on PS4,also played the dlc,and couldn't wait to pre-order on PC,and am super excited to play later.

I don’t think PC gamers in general expect this, no. And IMO textures haven’t been the problem with this gen overall thanks to the ample memory the consoles have (next gen though...).

4x the amount? While rendering what resolution? When compared to native 4K, it's 2x the amount of pixels as opposed to a Pro.
When including the frame rate. 2080 Ti delivers 497,664,000 pixels per second (60fps) whereas the PS4 Pro delivers 124,416,000 pixels per second (30fps).

Odd... I remember that on the preview video there was a benchmark of an RX 580 hitting solid 1080p 60 at ps4 settings which makes sense to me. I was looking forward to 1800p 30 ps4 settings on an RX 580.

Vram usage is off the charts as well.
Hopefully they fix the game. After all the current lead from Sony (former guerilla) is the one that pushed for this PC port to happen

Indeed, the pre-release build of HZD hits 60fps on my best machine... but this requires a considerable downgrade to somewhere around 60 percent of 4K, which can be toggled in an in-game menu. The game includes an automatic resolution-scaling system, which drops the pixel count in order to lock to your preferred frame rate of choice. When I leave the game at "high" settings (not maxed-out, graphically, but close to it), this automatic 60fps slider bumps the pixel count down to roughly 60 percent, as well. That result lines up with other resolution tests on the same system; 1440p, or roughly 44 percent of 4K, runs at 68fps on average with the same "high" settings preset.

Busted port, the previewer fix did nothing. Keep the money until they fix it right.

this is what ps4 fanboys salivate about? i mean...shit, looks outdated already if you ask me. This is what happens when you put game son PC, they just become another PC game....not pushing any boundaries.

honeslty, it doesnt look that good at all.

I hope in the future Sony stops wasting time porting games to PC. Use that time and resources for PS5 games, PC gamers don’t give a shit.

We do give a shit. I bought the game on PS4 and now PC as well. All PC gamers care about is good performance as it's unacceptable playing a game on RTX 2080 Ti, which is supposed to be couple of times better than PS4 Pro's hardware, with such low FPS. Not even going into CPU section.

People praised Death Stranding on PC as far as I remember, because it was a wonderful port. It's not about the game, it's about the optimization because that shows how much developer care about the PC environment. If they don't care, why should people care?

LOL!! you know it's the first of many ports to come...Specially after seeing how death much death stranding is selling. We just want a port that runs good in our hardware, if they fix the game, horizon will sell even more than DS.

Sony is learning that they can please both the PlayStation and pc audience. Hopefully they use this port as experience and put more work when Dreams and Bloodborne are released.

If the ports are successful and PC gamers actually care then yes, by all means port the games to PC. But look at that dude a few posts above, he’s all riled up because.....who knows why? If that’s the general sentiment I say don’t even bother.

That's on a 2080 Ti so yikes. Buuut it's also pre-release and there are no drivers out so might be better when it does come out. But it's also IGN and they're incompetent.

The tester purposefully ran into GPU-intensive scenes to get these numbers.

1440p/60fps should be easy on a 2070S though.

So let's run some numbers.

PS4 Pro hits 30 fps at a res of 1920x2160.

2080ti hits 60 fps at a res of 3840x2160.

Doing some dumb back of the napkin math, the PS4 Pro is pushing about 124 million pixels/second, while 2080ti is pushing 497 million pixels/second. Somewhere around a 4x uplift in pixel throughput at the same graphics settings.

Mexican tech you tuber Michael quesada showed that the game was running at around 95 fps at 1080p ps4 settings on a 2060 super. Maybe a bit lower than expected but not that bad.

Those results are more in line with rock paper shotgun and the game trailer that showed a bench result of 1080p 60 for an RX 580
Bench results are all over the place. Maybe folks aren't running the game with the ps4 FOV? That should stress the HW more.

Good graphics don't make a good game.
I think it's my own fault for expecting this to be monster hunter with robot dinosaurs, it didn't even come close and i lost al interest never finished it.

At least they aren't pulling a nier automata and they seem to have the intention of working on the fixes.

They should have delayed the release. It's not that there aren't any games to play.

I think there may be a couple things going on:

  • Some of the higher settings hitting the GPU particularly hard.
  • Card not actually getting full x16 PCIe bandwidth
  • Tests being run at higher than console settings
  • Lack of day 1 patch optimizations
The day 1 patch does appear to help with the 0.1% and 1% FPS according to Durante:

There's an update from Guerilla, and to be honest, it doesn't seem like this game was ready to be shipped. Critial issues are indeed critical for a game at this scale and budget.

when anisio will work + ultra texture it will change thing a lot more
shader compilation feels a lot like emulation

maybe but who plays on pc with 70 fov ? this and draw distance was the worst thing of the gen for me when pc option was not possible.
