Horizon Zero Dawn PC Footage

How does it look on pcmr specs?

Usually consoles up-ported to hirez pc, will have tons of legacy crap like low res textures, low polygon count, flat lighting. You can hide theses from the clarity of pc power

Cool for those who did not play it on PS4 but it's not a game you double dip even with the PC benefits. The open world tedium is a lot. I thought about it but after still playing Ghost theres no way I can handle another open world that was already boring as hell when I first played it. Maybe I'll give it a try before HZD2 when it's cheap on Steam and probably some cool mods out there.

Looking forward to try this on my computer. If it runs well I might give this game another chance, as it bored me when it come out in ps4.
Play it on (very) hard otherwise you will get bored by dodgeroll spam + normal bowshot and that's all it takes to finish the game at lower difficulties.

I only want to know if they improved textures and anisotropic filter.

Also what can i expect with a 2070super\8600k?! is 1440p60 possible?

Does the epic store version support mods?

That's on a 2080 Ti so yikes. Buuut it's also pre-release and there are no drivers out so might be better when it does come out. But it's also IGN and they're incompetent.

The tester purposefully ran into GPU-intensive scenes to get these numbers.

1440p/60fps should be easy on a 2070S though.

well maybe i can wait a week or 2 for some patches, i already have almost 100 hours with the game on pro, it's useless buying a pc version if i can't achieve at least 1440p60 rock solid even with hell on screen with high\ultra settings.

i hope guerrila doesn't aim for native 4k on ps5 for the sequel, they can only improve so much the graphics with that big burden on performances...

Spamming arrows like that makes me wonder if they didn't kind of undertune the weapons a bit - didn't Witcher 3 get chewed out for it's repetitive combat? Ehh...

This sounds critical, but I really love guerilla games (my Vita is privileged to have Killzone Mercenary on it) I'm just reflecting on what I saw in the bit of the trailer I just watched.

Anisotropic filter can be forced to 16x on any PC game
doens't happen from time to time that forcing anisotropic in the nvidia panel can create some glitches? i always prefer an option in the in-game setting.

Great, the more people can experience that masterpiece the better!

I am always forcing AA in the CP, as often the CP solution is better than the one ingame. Never had issues.

Performance numbers are quite terrible. I remember that on the trailer it showed a branch mark hitting 1080p 60 at ps4 (medium) settings with an RX 580. So I was hoping to play the game at 1800p 30 fps.

This does not seem to be the case, at least judging from the latest benchmarks on GAME GPU

Maybe this is a way of Sony telling pc s to stop asking for ports? I optimizing their PC releases?

REALLY looking forward to playing this on PC again... but unfortunately I'll have to skip launch because the timing is bad for me(right before a major FFXIV update).

play the game on ultra hard so you are force to use bows, traps etc.

Most really great looking open worlds games that are modern don’t run at 60 fps at 4K at max settings on an RTX 2080 TI - with the exception of Odyssey.

Na this will look better than HZD 2 on PS5. If you disagree you’re only looking at art direction
i get the trolling, but performance being bad is not really related to how it looks.

but yeah from the 4k yt footage i saw, it doesn't look better than H2, but then again we didn't really saw any real gameplay for that game yet, i don't care if it was in-engine trailer.

Nobody even said the H2 trailer is in engine. I personally think none of it was in engine but it was all prerendered cg
if it's like horizon 1 is probably real time with some bells and whistles activated, it's nowhere good looking enough to be cg
They are guerrilla they don't need completely fake trailers after that kz2 trailer debacle.

Allegedly "favor performance " is a match for console settings but we will have to wait for DF to investigate for confirmation.

29 hours left till the release yet no pre-load on Steam! WTH!!

Preload is up now on steam mate.

I had assumed "Original" was original PS4 Pro settings with "favor" performance being the same but using dynamic res to maintain the target frame rate.

Hmm might be right as well, just going off what I read on reddit earlier but that's hardly a source.

Either way, I'm hoping the day 1 patch improves things and that I can get better than 60fps @ 1440p on my 2070 super. If not it's likely getting refunded.
