Streamer laughed at the final flashback scene with Joel and Ellie. He liked the game, says it has great graphics and immersion, but doesn't like the narrative.

The last words said in the game is Joel saying "Yep". And the streamer even laughed at that..... "the games ends with a "yep"? lol"

I can barely understand what he says. But he gave 10 for technical aspects and 3 for the story.

Yeah but it’s a straight aesthetic copy right now. The ending is literally this:

Shinji had no reason to choke her outside the creator being mentally unbalanced though. I mean that is true for everything in Evangelion and it's themes but still. Ellie just pussed out in the end because it is totally ok to spare the dude that killed her father figure.

So, I'm still confused, is Abby trans or not? I think I got used to the monster look. Are there sex reassignment clinics in TLOU2? Or is a shaved head enough to be trans? It's such a weird world.

I don't think I saw the same game as everyone else.

Bleak, miserable and depressing, my ass. TLOU2 is probably one of the most unintentionally funny games ever created. I don't remember laughing that much in a long, long time.

YEP!

Shinji had no reason to choke her outside the creator being mentally unbalanced though.

He had all the reasons in the world.

Asuka in the kitchen and the beach scene represents humanity. Shinji stops the Human Instrumentality Project mid through because he thinks that despite the world having been hell to him, he realizes it’s better to live with identity and feelings than just be a soup of nothing. At the end, he founds the strength to have hope that he can learn to live despite the Hedgehog’s dilemma and the existentialist depressing void and be happy.

But what happens? Well, Shinji comes back to life in the beach and is literally waiting for the rest of the world to come back too. But guess what, every single one person in the world decides to not come back. Literally the entire world gives Shinji the back and prefers to be a soup of nothing than to be with him. That’s the ultimate betrayal.

And after days or possibly weeks of Shinji roaming the beach completely alone in this post world of humanity that have rejected him, suddenly Asuka comes back from the LCL soup.

Shinji is mad with rage. I mean, imagine roaming an empty earth because literally everybody in the world rejected you when you finally came to the realization that you could live a life with people. Of course he is psychopathic at that stage.

So he strangles Asuka out of pure mad rage, but he knows he needs her more than anything.

It was all his fault though.

Didn't Shinji and Asuka come out of the LCL at roughly the same time? I don't remember him coming back and being alone first.

I always just saw him strangling her as his usual attempt to push people away (in an understandably psychotic state), but this time he stops his self-destructive tendencies, and she stops her own self-destructive bitch persona somewhat as well when she touches his face (very un-Asuka-like), but the final words demonstrate that she is still Asuka.

So they both lowered their quills, so to speak, but still have their faults. It is a sign of personal growth, considering Asuka almost certainly went through her own self-discovery sequence during Instrumentality.

Joel dies instantly unarmed but Abby can fucking go toe to toe and Royal Guard clickers like she's Dante????

More than any spoiler I've read so far, this shit is beyond hilarious and I'm only an hour in.

It was all his fault though.

He was a 14 year old who had been abandoned and betrayed all his life who was also a pawn in this master plan project of this ancestral organization.

You can hardly put much fault on him. He is pathetic, sure, but that’s because he is realistic. He is not a hero, he is just a depressed boy.

Shinji makes a Misato’s grave and the pendant is rusty. A lot of time has passed.

Asuka just gives him a little bit of what Shinji desperately craves for: human contact, tenderness, love. And Shinji tumbles down.

But she is obviously grossed out by him, by how he masturbated in front of her comatose body, by her being alone in the world with him, by Shinji still being Shinji after all what happened.

Wut?

Goddamn am I happy I didn't pre order this shit. Also this is not a good look for critics right now. It's unbelievable this has a 95 on MC.

Absolutely. There were many cases where they were quite questionable already, but this one really seals it for me.

I honestly think its time people start relying on their own assessments instead of the media or any third party to do it for them.

Holy shit, doesn't that practically confirm that the Owen dude is in fact a Druckmann self-insert?

I forgot this.

Yes, Asuka also learns she wants to live (after her trying to commit suicide when she was literally mind raped by Bardiel). She realized her mother didn’t abandoned her, but was with her (in the EVA) all along taking care of her. And that’s why she is the only one who comes back with Shinji.

Made a crappy phPBB forum once ... once.
Welp.... Here they come.... :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Q3VicVY.png

They’ll just be classed as haters though because ‘look at all the 10’s it got’

Even over in the OT briefly, we’re all haters that don’t like a work of fiction apparently and stay out if we don’t like the game and who the fuck are you replies.

The game got loads of 10 out of 10s man and has sold 20 million copies...

Yeah 20 million copies for poor bastards who pre-ordered on PSN when they take your money months in advance for products that aren’t finished. 20 million pre-orders based off a teaser trailer where people thought it was Joel covering Ellie’s mouth...

Some of them are loving it so far. A couple have questioned why Abby looks beef (looks like Chris Redfield said one and when you make your own character in a game and put the proportions wrong said another) and one was ‘two hours in :sad smiley:’

Don’t know what it’s like on the other place after getting banned for asking who an actor was I had never heard of, but seems pretty quiet on here so far.

Storm in a tea-cup.

I'd gladly rewatch that cut-scene if only Abby looked like Laura Bailey. Unfortunately in its current state it's more like a gay sex scene.

Well.....i am so glad im didn´t bought this trash.
Watched a stream and when they picked up the Dr Uckman Card.....i wanted to punch someone.
I hope they get serious backlash for it, but hey just like in the old UDSSR, if you make a Movie praising the State,
you will get high Reviews and no one is allowed to hate it.

Everything about TLOU 2 seems like a fucking trainwreck. The game has Neil Druckmann's ego, virtue signalling and hubris carved all over it

It's pretty bad. There was one example I shared earlier where CohhCarnage just crouched through high grass with an enemy looking in his direction as he was moving and didn't budge. Another where Dina was shooting at an enemy and crouched behind a table, the enemy saw it all happen, and was like "Where did they go?! I don't see 'em!"

It's REALLY bad, lmao.

So basically nothing has changed gameplay-wise from the first game. Color me surprised.

We have all been warned, that "the game will make us question everything", and I do have a lot of questions, questions like: is there some sort of agenda to to give the game 10/10? Did the reviewers even played the game? What was the number on their cheques?

Sorry, but nothing screams "the best game of this generation" - the graphics don't stand out compared to other Sony 1st party titles, the gameplay is the same old gameplay, with the exact same flaws (sorry, forgot they added prone and jump, maybe they make the game such a masterpiece?), and the story is just.. just... it's outstanding how a single person can destroy work of hundreds of people. I though the initial leaks were bad, but as more and more footage is being revealed, I fully understand now why many ND employees were disgusted by working on the game and decided to leave the company.

Still, the game will sell in millions of copies, no doubt about it, I just wish I got to see someone going in blindly, just to see his face/reaction once the clown fiesta starts to roll out, shit should be hilarious.

The ending is fucking hilarious. It feels like such a sweaty attempt at capturing the tone and feel of the first game's ending.
I am not one for crying about paid reviews or overrating games, but I seriously do wonder what the reception of the story would be if the game didn't have its mega production values.

About two hours in and there’s a lot to like here.

Unfortunately, there’s also a lot of mediocrity, too, and it seems to have evaded most critics...shocking, I know.
  • As others have stated, the AI is lackluster.
  • The encounters, so far, seem like a breeze.
  • Molotovs are so overpowering that I generally don‘t feel apprehensive about the enemies.
  • ”Bigot sandwich” made me exclaim, “who is writing this shit?’
I’m going to play this all day tomorrow, but I have a sneaking suspicion I’m going to lose interest quickly. Not as quickly as Death Stranding, but I can feel it happening, which sucks.
