GAF's Nintendo Discussion, News, and Speculation |OT|

In light of the current situation I had to write another blog entry. Hope the right people (lurking) see it:

I see this a lot, and I, like you, want more from Nintendo. Their output since the beginning of 2018 has been mediocre considering they only have one system to support.#

However, instead of demanding stuff you aren't going to get, how about just gaming elsewhere?
Nintendo aren't going to listen to people on the internet, they never have. They will listen to sales numbers, if enough people get sick of Nintendo ports, they'll stop making them.

It really is that simple. Vote with your wallet instead of shouting at a brick wall.

I'm waiting on my results but I'm pretty sure I have it. Supposed to call back tomorrow. I'm only dealing with head and body aches, dizziness, sore throat and a cough so luckily I don't have any respiratory issues. The testing process was the worst part about this whole mess lol.

I got lucky my test was just the short swab through the nose I didn't deal with the brain swab. Stay safe man.

Voting with your wallet doesn't work against a successful product. Repeatedly voicing criticism is the only thing we can do, because eventually enough people gather to garner mainstream/media attention.

And I have no lack of games, but I won't let that count as an excuse for their terrible release- and information policy.

FWIW, even if I wanted to break NDA, there are no interesting 3p Switch games I'm aware of to break NDA on.

I fully believe you.

Switch so far as we know isn't getting Tony Hawks, and it's not getting Mafia Trilogy. I know we're getting Borderlands, but I just lost a lot of hope for a Mass Effect trilogy on Switch.

For those who have played astral chain, what game does it most closely compare to?

Also want to pick you Luigi mansion 3 as the 3ds game was great fun.

I'm pulling for you to get a negative test result back. Hopefully it's just a bad springtime cold or something. I enjoy your posts on here, so don't go dyin' on us.

Astral Chain is similar to other Platinum titles like Bayonetta. But there's nothing else quite like it because the whole gameplay mechanic of using the right stick to control your legion while simultaneously controlling your character is pretty unique.

It's similar to Nier Automata in that the UI is almost basically the same. It also has the same kind of quirky humor to it. There's some light social rpg elements in exploring the police station and talking to charcters, doing side quests.

The combat starts off simple but once you've unlocked multiple legions it becomes really complex.

One thing I would say, you can't abuse dodge in Astral chain same way you can with Bayonetta and Automata. Astral Chain has lots of defensive tools other than just dodging, they are there for a reason.

I need to get back into it and beat it. I get kind of put off because It's one of those games where if you haven't played it in a while then you kind of forget how to.

I suppose that's one way to announce a new Paper Mario title.

Caught me completely off guard!

Art style continues to be fantastic, but I worry that it'll fall more in line with the Colour Splash and Sticker Star's of the world.

Hopefully this stops all the doom and gloom they "Nintendo has no more games". We're not getting a direct until September I don't think but we will see Mario 3D World DX, Pikmin 3 DX and Mario 3D All Stars announced through Twitter over the summer.

It's one game.

Sure, but it proves 2 things that can make us more positive for the rest of the year:

1. Nintendo doesn't need a direct to announce games
2. Nintendo can announce games only 2 months from release.

You had some people thinking no direct in June meant no Nintendo games until the holidays. We now know that isn't a concern.

I’m having so much fun with my Switch right now. It’s interesting in that my gaming has historically been 100% computers, from amstrad cpc464 through Atari ST and Amiga to PC. The games Nintendo put out are different (and I’m including their SNES/NES stuff here - I’ve dabbled with emulators as we all have but this is the first time I’ve played this stuff on a big screen and damn it makes so much sense). The perfect pacing, the seemingly simple levels where new mechanics are brought in and taught perfectly without the need for tutorial levels, everything balanced to near perfection. With all the bullshit in gaming it’s so good to play games that made with love, with respect for gamers, and which are proud of what they are, focusing on gameplay over cinematic bullshit.

I'd be happy to try out at least two of those. Heard good things about Panel de Pon and Wild Guns.
Seems like we'll be getting around 16 games a year at this rate, though it could go higher if they decide to add more consoles each year.

Rygar! Damn, I gotta pay for another month. Loved that game when I was a kid. Probably sucks ass now but who cares, nostalgia is a helluva drug.
