It'll all be down to the PS5's price.Wonder where PS4 will end it’s sales? 130-135 million? Anyway amazing gen for Sony.
Lol. Totally stealing that one!
I don't know, but it seems to only get a temporary one during the Black Friday season.Has the PS4 even ever had a price cut? I remember the PS3's price was getting slashed like every 2 years but I can't even recall hearing about a PS4 price drop. Maybe when the Pro came out the base became cheaper?
I think Once from 399 to 299 in 7 years lolHas the PS4 even ever had a price cut? I remember the PS3's price was getting slashed like every 2 years but I can't even recall hearing about a PS4 price drop. Maybe when the Pro came out the base became cheaper?
I think indirectly it affects people. They care because sales mean more software support (games) and more niche hardware support (VR).Only imbeciles care whether one product happens to be selling more than another or not.
What matters is whether a product is worth owning on its own merits, and with a games machine that ultimately means what games does it have that set it apart from the competition.
On that front, MS are probably in the best position they have been since 7th gen, but ultimately the proof will be a pudding.
Even should PS5 end up selling 10 times as many systems, if MS can come up with an exclusives library that makes owning an XSX worthwhile, then it scarcely matters.
There wasn't much reason to drop it TBH (and the launch price was really reasonable to begin with). Imagine where the figures would be if it was officially at $199. They're investing that extra cash into the PS5 SSDI think Once from 399 to 299 in 7 years lol

Do you think believe will go back to buying retail? I would think that once they've noticed how much easier it is to buy digitally they might keep doing that. Although there will always be the price difference.Insane results although the rise in digital sales in the last few months was obviously due to the pandemic and i don't expect it to continue (as much as it did these last months) once things get back to normal.
Well i had to pay 70€ for the digital version os FFVIIR where if things were normal i would have bought it physical for 53€ . As crazy as it sounds physical is still a lot less expensive than digital (even on day 1 prices) and also requires less space on the Hard Drive than a full digital install so i think that the people who were buying physical before will continue to do so once things get back to normal.Do you think believe will go back to buying retail? It just lacking some quarters where Sony did no share the data in OP so he wrote 1.1B minimum.CES2020
Software Ratio has to be wrong.
It will easily break the PS2 software sales record but it will fall around 30 million less in hardware sales.
Pure and only and based on nothing this gen speculation. You hear it? The sound of wind...Only imbeciles care whether one product happens to be selling more than another or not.

But people thought Sony will hide the "bad" revenue for this quarter like MS did lolSo according to that chart PS now generated over $3 billion in revenue...... at 17 percent of total revenue. Last quarter only.
The only issue Sony will face with PS5 is that they won't have enough units to all day one buyers no matter how many they produce. This kind of news puts the whole "something is wrong with sony and ps5, it can't be good" narrative in a different perspective. Although diehards will still hold on to their negative point of view. Sony is killing it and doesn't need the ps5 to step in and save the PlayStation brand.
Yikes. If they don't share it, then it's not good enough to compare with Game Pass
Yea lets forget how xbox division is doing as whole and focus on gamepass numbers after 1$ deals .sounds reasonable to meYikes.
I was told it is just spin.So sony is not doomed?
Let’s see the Sony spin thread because their numbers will be worse then this.
Nintendo and Sony are always dommed. So sony is not doomed?

Xbox last quarter numbers (https://www.neogaf.com/threads/earnings-release-fy20-q3-xbox-up-2.1538763/post-257964750).Wait.. worse numbers than what?

Hold on now, this ain't a contest! Oh wait...If they don't share it, then it's not good enough to compare with Game Pass
The numbers in OP lacks some quarters... it is around 1.3b software sales already (at least 100% over 1.2b).I predicted the PS4 would sell more than the PS1 but less than the PS2. Considering that it looks like there will be quite a lot of software for the PS4 even after the PS5 releases (BC and all that), I'm starting to wonder if it can actually beat the PS2.
It's crazy that these numbers are before 2 big new AAA games that will sell greatly
Coronavirus happened. It's crazy that these numbers are before 2 big new AAA games that will sell greatly
