Mgs3 had crazy amount of content and played better/different from mgs2. It was released 3 years after on same hardware. I guess kojipro is crazy efficient or master kojima is master slave driver.
Sony marketing this gen has been great, i too think this game will be a life changer to new audiences following Sony's brand. Really nice artwork and gameplay quirks you won't find on regular sony games.

The Japanese trailer includes a bunch of details not in the English trailer such as
-The Homo Demens' motives
-What void-outs are
-What the UCA is
-What the player is going to do and why they're doing it
-Namedrops of stuff like a faction(?) called "the Mules" and the rain being called the "Time Fall"
-Actually explaining "what Amelie started"

Seems like Sony sold Detroit and Beyond copyrights for a bit of the Chinese EPIC money. The trademarks are still with Sony tho. Death Stranding’s engine and motion capture was done by Sony.

Nah. Kojima did say he wanted it on PC but it was before he had an engine and nothing was decided. Then he started using one made by Sony along with their other facilities. Then he stopped talking about PC for obvious reasons.

Just read through this and look at the collectors edition and how it says PS4 Bonus content if it's only on PS4 why would it need PS4 bonus content that makes no sense unless it's coming to another platform
PS4 Bonus content would just be bonus content if it was fully exclusive.

So glad I can finally be hyped since it will come this year! I tried to forget about Death Stranding the best I could since waiting MGS4 and MGSV was too hard for me.
I'm always amazed by how much good taste Kojima has! He is a visionary with enough money and respect to be surrounded by the best. Shinkawa and his art team are insanely talented. They blow my expectation away each game.

Looks pretty fantastic and out there, I'm liking it!
Plot wise/visuals it looks like Kojima watched "The Postman", "Oblivion" and "Spectre" and kind of mish mashed them together with Kaneda's bike from Akira.
Gameplay looks like MGS mixed with things like No Man's Sky etc..
The theme seems to be a commentary on political division and polarisation into different "sides" only this time the sides are some kind of layered alternate dimension? Hard to say exactly. With the main message that I could gather being that people should communicate with each other instead of living in separate worlds if they want America to survive as a functioning society.
The baby stuff is interesting, I assume it is going to be some kind of symbolism or theme related to abortion in some way, or maybe something to do with children being open to any point of view thus being the "bridge" between both sides as they are not yet appointed to a "side". I guess there is a hopeful message there for the future perhaps.
All in all, really interesting stuff so far. Looking forward to it, hope it gets a PC release at some point.

When folks say stuff like this do they mean it's a "hard pass" on pre-ordering or what?
Just, seeing a lot of comments about "boring gameplay" or "the combat looks bad" but how much can you really take away from a 8 minute trailer?
Same with the story tbh. The premise looks intriguing but honestly I wouldn't expect, or even WANT, to begin to understand the story until I've played through a decent chunk of the game.
The game has just over 5 months until release and as far as gameplay is concerned we have seen very little.
Are you telling me that once more gameplay is revealed and reviews and let's plays drop in November you'll be saying "nah, I saw 30 seconds of gameplay 5 months ago and thought it looked boring"?
Maybe the game is boring. Maybe the story will be a total uninteresting mess.
Surely, it's too early to say at this point?
Imagine deciding "I am never going to buy this" after an 8 minute trailer, that gives away very little, 5 months from release. Fucksakes.

I doubt that's a boss battle, but it is a showcase of some creepy enemies. I think bosses will be people like Deadman, Heartman, Die-Hardman and (quite possibly, because it's Kojima) Fragile. Remember fighting the Boss at the end of Snake Eater? Your closest friend could in some way be your biggest enemy.

What a trailer. I can honestly say I went from having no hype or interest in this project to slapping a pre order in on Amazon before the trailer was even over.
Looks very Kojima. Looks MGS-esque in gameplay, atmosphere and dialogue. Very glad I upgraded to a PS4 Pro and a Panasonic 4k telly 3 months ago. No way could this game be properly experienced in 1080p. Doubt it’s even playable to any extent of enjoyment without 4k.

I cannot comprehend for the life of me why anyone is excited for this game...
The acting in the trailer is absolutely terrible. The gameplay in the trailer looks extremely dumb, and doesn't even flow properly. The moves he's doing with that thing on his back look completely ridiculous. The writing is an subtle as a brick to the face. It wants to be "cryptic", but it's literally beating you over the head with its ideas. The graphics are nice I guess? But even the faces look wrong. Lifeless, dead eyes. Expressionless outside of very specific moments. It's uncanny valley at its most extreme.
