Apparently me and one other person enjoyed the last game in the series. Minus the stupid FMV stuff, which was in the category it was so bad it was good, I thoroughly enjoyed it and thought it was an arcade racer through and through. Which I still enjoy myself. Very interested in this next title.

I haven't liked any of these games but I'll give it a chance. Love the pre E3 hype.

I just want a new closed track Burnout sequel and a new Motorstorm. Both of which aren't coming any time soon.

If nfs2017 has vinyl wrap sharing like in 2015...prepare for 2f2f, ect replicas everywhere online.

This guy does a pretty good job at recreating the movie cars.

While a pretty game to look at, I could never get into the how the cars feel.

I agree. I got a Xbox One S just for Forza, Gears, and Halo. Been having a blast with Horizon 3 and Forza 6. Last gen I felt we had a lot more options for arcade racers from 3rd parties along with many of them were of great quality. This gen it feels like everything is 1st or 2nd party level.

I would get an XB1 S if Horizon 3 wasn't on PC and FM7 wasn't also coming to PC. I played Horizon 1 and 2 on 360 and honestly, PS4 only racing fans are missing out big time.

I'm pretty salty at how the PS4 is pretty non-existent when it comes to racers. After getting platinum in Driveclub, NFS2015 and playing some Project Cars, I just gave up on the genre.

I loved it. My only gripes were always online and the terrible police AI

The aesthetic, vibe, soundtrack, FMV, complete lack of "YO YOU'RE A RACER AND NOW YOU'RE A SECRET AGENT AND UHHH SAVE THE WORLD" story. You're just friends with a bunch of dorks drinking Monster and drifting

Forgive my rant. but EA plzzzz stop with al this need for speef bs and bring back Burnout paradise !!!

OMG its the best EA racing game ever, and every year they bring a medicore need for speed games. I just dont get it? is Burnout paradise a flop? where is Burnout paradise 2?

Paradise was a massive disappointment and a step back for the series.

If they bring it back, it needs to be more like 3 and Revenge.

Thinking back the last NFS I played was the Most Wanted remake. It was pretty good and it was fun just exploring and finding cars but I missed the customization and more traditional structure. There was a time I eagerly awaited NFS every year. Underground 2, Most Wanted, Carbon, and Pro Street was a really good stretch. Hoping for a return to that level. I skipped out on 2015 because of the online and some of the impressions I read, so I'm really, really hoping this game turns out good.

It was a very solid game after the updates/patches.

I liked Paradise but 3 is probably my favorite. Can't believe we never got another Burnout. Would be awesome if Ghost expanded and alternated between Burnout/NFS each year.

All I want from a NFS game is for the cars to not drive like tanks and for the game to actually have a half decent soundtrack but as per usual I have zero hopes for this as the last acceptable NFS game IMO was NFS:Most Wanted which is now 5 years old.

Also Ghost Games are the ones making this new NFS, the same Devs who made NFS (2015) and Rivals.

Man, it's been too long since I played a NFS game.

Underground 1 and 2 were amazing. So was Blackkist and Most Wanted.

Carbon is okayish.

Need for speed, One of the world's bestselling video game franchises, returns with a vengeance in the new action-driving blockbuster need for speed payback. Set in the Underworld of Fortune Valley, you and your Crew are reunited by a search for vengeance against the House, a nefarious cartel that rules the City's Casino, criminals, and cops. In this corrupt gambler's paradise, the stakes are high and the House always wins. Play a variety of challenges and events as tyler, the racer; Mac, the showman, and jess, the wheelman. Each driver must take on races, missions, and challenges to earn the respect of the valley's underground and compete in the Ultimate race to finally take down the House. From insane Heist missions to devastating car battles to jaw cropping set piece moments, need for speed payback delivers an edge-of-your-seat, action-driving fantasy.
NO NO NO NO NO NO NO

No Switch? PS4 for me then.
Shame. Kinda wanted to play on the go.

Still, hopefully the reveal shows some good stuff. Can't wait to see some good racing. Wonder what theme they're going with this time.

Edit:
That summary kinda... doesn't sound great. >.>

My 0% interest is confirmed then.

Sounds like a bunch of story shit, par for the course in EA and Ubisoft racing games. Luckily I don't give 2 shits about the story in a racing game and only care about the racing. We'll see how that goes though.

My 0% interest is confirmed then.

why?

Every antihype check is checked. :(

So the setting is indeed Las vegas. hmm night time will look ace, can't say much about Heist mission or other story things, but "devastating car battles" sound awesome.

...lacks reading comprehension.
How hard can it be to make a sequel to Hot Pursuit? It was there best-selling game of the decade at 5+ million copies, yet they somehow always try not to do anything like that game again. Are they just stupid or ignorant? They are still chasing that 8+ million NfS Underground success they will never achieve again.

Please have the two of the most fearsome characters return.

This pic brings me memories of when a friend showed me Need For Speed Most Wanted 2005, and I was high AF! So this dude in the cutscene seemed like he was talking directly to me, ha! :)

I thought those cutscenes were cool, but when I see them now they are super cheesy...

EDIT: Most Wanted 2005 is still the best in the series, and has the best soundtrack (you could select Rock/HipHop/Both in the Options menu).
The 2012 reboot doesn't even comes close.

Someone in EA's Finance Division saw that GTA online money and said Lets turn NFS into that but without the murder.

Also "The House Always Wins" after calling the Bad Guys the House. Who writes this stuff?

Edit: it sounds like the gaming version of "The Player" that terrible NBC show from a few years ago staring Wesley Snipes.

This is funny because you compare it to GTA and the Houser brothers are the founders of the company, so having "the House" as the enemy felt like EA had put the Housers -i.e., Rockstar - as their enemies.

I don't understand what's wrong with that description. Missions and car heists as opposed to boring repetitive races around a circuit? Sign me up

Sounds pretty much like the last game just set in a different location with a slightly different story.

Will get it when it's cheaper. Seems like NFS has truly fallen leagues behind its competitors.

People want pure racing games.

But yeah, sounds like fast and the furious. Could be good if they do it right.

I'll stay optimistic about it at least until reveal. I can live with NFS going the "cinematic" route considering the amount of options we have in the genre these days. I'm kinda surprised no one did that before too. I mean EA tried it with The Run and I liked the main idea behind it, but the execution was a complete disaster. I hope this time with a longer dev cycle and hopefully a bigger budget they can make it work. I would love to have a playable modern F&F movie.

I like the cover so that's a start.
