My favorite NFS have been both Most Wanted games. Every NFS has a different feel or look. Definitely gonna try this one, but a bunch have been hit or miss for me.

At least we know that it won't be called Need for Speed Covfefe

I'm interested as long as it isn't full of dumb, cringey, long, boring, unskippable cutscenes like the last game. I couldn't even get through the first two hours because it felt like it was 25% driving, 75% cutscenes.

I normally don't skip cutscenes of any games but NFS 2015 cutscenes lol I used those for toilet breaks or grabbing a snack etc

Loved NFS:Rivals but I was severely disappointed with NFS 2015. I could see why Rivals could not be paused (I found it stupid still) but NFS2015 was just terrible in that regard.
The story was pure cringe (and not in the good, NFS Most Wanted way), and the game lacked both content, focus, polish and taste, in my opinion.
Just hope that this one is worth it, because after Rivals I thought Ghost Games could do this franchise justice.

I really liked Rivals for whatever reason. Ended up platinuming it and had a lot of fun. The Koenigsegg Agera R/Police was an amazing car.

It was a fun launch title, but going back now it feels bland for some reason. I sold it and rebought it though because I was desperate for an arcade racer on the PS4. This gen has been terrible for racers.

NFS needs to get back to the MW2005/Carbon era. Open map free roam COP CHASES! Deep customization like Carbon's 'Autosculpt' as well.

Oh man. Can't wait to see more of this game. Here are some things I'd love to see:

-Always online needs to die in a fire.
-FMV cutscenes should make a return. Honestly would love to see a storyline that's Fast-and-Furious levels of absurd and self-deprecating. Doubt that will happen but it would be nice to see a less serious, more lighthearted take on a storyline.
-Better driving physics. Wasn't a huge fan of the physics in Rivals/2015, so I'm hoping they iron that stuff out. And remember when you used to be able to smash a cop car 60+ feet in the air on MW 2005? I want those physics back.
-Doubt this will happen as the games get more "realistic" in terms of their visuals, but I wish they'd shed some of the stuff they inherited from Criterion back when they worked on the series. Would love to go back to the days before we had crashing, for example.

If all the above somehow get fixed, it has potential to be my GOAT arcade racing game.

If this is always online again then my interest for this instantly becomes zero.

They pretty much said: "We are working on a new NFS game, and yeah, it`ll be playable offline". I guess people really didn`t like the previous game because of the always online crap. They just had to try it after Sim City.

That poster has killed my hype, it's gonna be underground 3. I prefer the exotic cars from hot pursuit.

2015 was garbage but 1 thing it for right was the cheesy cutscenes

Give me cheesy cutscenes all day, I don't mind that at all. I have a lot of serious racing games already.

The main reason I skipped 2015 was the always online bullshit.

The last NFS I fully played through was the first Criterion reboot one (after they stopped doing Burnout) which was only OK (the cars felt and handled so heavy, which I didn't love) and I got Most Wanted for super cheap or free on both Vita and PC, but haven't played much of it.

NFS just doesn't really do anything to convince me to get it over all the other racers out there. Burnout had the crazy sense of speed and super fun takedown gameplay, The Crew has its massive open world and a shitload of content, GT/Forza/Forza Horizon have their realistic gameplay (too realistic for me, but if you're into it it's top notch), Driveclub has insane visuals, Dirt has fun offroad gameplay, Wipeout is fun futuristic racing with weapons and powerups, and there's probably more I'm forgetting.

But the only thing I can think of in NFS's favor is its brand name. Unless they can make something truly incredible with this new NFS (I like that it's set in faux-Seattle at the very least since I live there) I just can't think of what it will offer that I can't get from other racing games.

Even though I'm not a big fan of The Crew, if Ubisoft can make The Crew 2 a big enough improvement over the first one (improve the gameplay, improve the graphics a LOT, make takedown events fun, add additional side content stuff, etc), I think that'll be the racing game I get excited for this year. Yes, that's a bit of a big "if" but Ubisoft is usually pretty good at improving a lot with their sequels.

OMG its the best EA racing game ever, and every year they bring a medicore need for speed games. I just dont get it? is Burnout paradise a flop? where is Burnout paradise 2?

Cant stand the series anymore thanks to the crap handling. It used to be my favorite racer but ever since they changed it to burnout for speed, i havent been able to get into it nor willing to give it more tries because the handling is just off

If they try to do a story this time around they should make it about a group of street racers illegally importing Japanese cars that are under the 25 year limit enforced by the U.S. Last mission has you trying to get the world's baddest R34 GT-R off a freighter and the cops already know it's coming and there's a madsive ambush and you have to evade the cops.

Motherfucking Razor! his real name is Clarence!

But seriously Need For Speed Most Wanted was amazing, so damn amazing maybe nostalgia talking but that was a lengedary game when i played through it first time.

I then replayed it with my roommates and we literally used to play/watch that shit like a TV show.

And that cover....i thought that font was the coolest shit.

Hell yes! Can't wait to hear more, especially since it'll have proper offline play. Also having a Skyline front and center is always a good idea.

Really hoping a good yet stupid and over the top story with FMV cutscenes. And bring back Razor.

NFS:2015 was a solid foundation. They need to address:

-Better handling,no forced e-brake turns.
-More lively,meaningful world.
-Add soft rpg stuff side quests with rewards.
-Proper day/night cycle.
-No FMV make it CGI w/ interesting characters.
-No cheesy newbie rising story.
-More cars and more customization off course.
-Make it similar online action, free roam like Horizon 3.

Criterion is essentially dead as is the hopes for Paradise 2. It would be amazing to see someone try to capture the spirit of that game which is indisputably the best game of that generation.

It was a fun launch title, but going back now it feels bland for some reason. I sold it and rebought it though because I was desperate for an arcade racer on the PS4. This gen has been terrible for racers.

Terrible if you own a PS4, even with Driveclub. Horizon 2, 3 and Motorsport 6 really edges the XB1 as the best racer platform this generation hands down. In fact, Xbox has been the better platform for racers since the 360 days.

Hope they build from 2015 this time around. It was a good but flawed experience. Take out always offline, better cop system, better replay value, better customization and an interesting world map and I'm good to go.

Best wishes.

I don't really get the hate for the recent NFS games. I think since Criterion/Ghost took over, at the very least they've been good and at best they've been among the best racers ever (Hot Pursuit reboot). I put HP up that high because of the world design. It's among the best in the genre. And that's where the recent entries have struggled the most. That's really my only issue with the franchise recently.

DRIVECLUB happened so for me it's been an amazing gen so far. Really love that game aswell..

While a pretty game to look at, I could never get into the how the cars feel.

I agree. I got a Xbox One S just for Forza, Gears, and Halo. Been having a blast with Horizon 3 and Forza 6. Last gen I felt we had a lot more options for arcade racers from 3rd parties along with many of them were of great quality. This gen it feels like everything is 1st or 2nd party level.

I love Most Wanted 2005,my favorite racing game of all time, handling still unmatched, love the Blacklist concept and execution.

Seeing as the Skyline is confirmed to be in the game I hope it has the 2Fast2Furious engine sound, I always loved how it sounded in that movie.

And the Skyline in NFS: Carbon did sound like that which is awesome, it was my main car when I played that game.
