Re: The hypocrisy of Kawakami's confidant

I'm not sure I agree with the assertion that the game backpedals on the first arc by introducing this sort of relationship to the player. It's nowhere near analogous to the Kamoshida's situation, since it's predicated on both parties mutually agreeing to use each other (falling in-line with the rest of the confidants) and Kawakami lays out some reasonable ground rules pretty early on. I actually think it's one of the better confidants, with a strong emotional core, good rapport between Joker/Kawakami nd a genuinely touching ending (also it is obscenely overpowered lmao).

...All of that goes out the window once you romance her, however. Her confidant is actually pretty touching, but romancing her completely trainwrecks the entire thing (and runs counter to the "I wanna be a good teacher" thing)"

Yeah, I don't generally mind the idea of having adult romance options, but
being able to date Kawakami is completely out of character for her in a way that it isn't for someone like Takemi or Ohya.

Public execution question:
So what's the probability if getting these public execution exclusive skills? Does the player level matter? Tried this stuff like 30 times now but nothing good showed up. Is this normal or does RNGesus hate me?

I get home from a long day at work, open the door and I hear the sound of persona 5 playing in the distance...

My fiances sister is playing the game.

Bleh. Wish I was a dick and could kick her off the game, but I figure I'd let her play for a little.

So... she lied about working on a story to her boss by admitting to statutory rape, which isn't even true.

Are you fucking kidding me with this shit, Atlus

While sometimes I wish I had someone in the house who shared my hobbies, being the sole gamer in the household is pretty sweet.

Although I guess she's visiting, so usually you don't have that problem.

I might grab P4G now that im used to all the systems. Watching the ER, its basically the same exact game mechanically (or 5 is the same game as 4 technically) so it would be easy to get into.

Yeah, there's a few differences but nothing huge. If you're digging 5 you should enjoy 4.

My wording wasn't that "she doesn't want to be sexy" for that reason. But there aren't any scenes that come to mind when I think of her purposefully trying to be sexy or display her sexuality in some form, vs
having the camera go down her shirt and then we see it's the guys looking at her, or them looking at her legs peeking out from her yukata (kinda weird since she's always wearing short skirts and shorts, but maybe the yukata adds a different flavor) and having Morgana and Ryuji try to look up her skirt that one time she lied down on the couch. She gets understandably upset and annoyed when that happens, and I wouldn't consider it her trying to be sexy. The beach thing is fine (even thought Ryuji really needs to close his mouth before flies get in there lol), and I didn't complain about it.
If there's something past the 4th Palance that changes that, I haven't gotten far enough to see it.

Edit: I can think of a time or two she tries to
"seduce" Yusuke so they can bust into the workshop, but those scenes are mostly played for comedy since she's such a bad actor and Yusuke still buys it.
About the shirts and Yukata thing. It's not really that weird when you think about it. For example people are fine with others, even complete strangers, seeing them in a bikini. But they would rush to try to cover themselves up even if someone close to them saw them in their undergarments...eventhough a bikini might be ultimately more revealing.

Jesus I need more liquid mercury. I want to make that everlasting lockpick.

I'm not really sure what point you think I'm confused on, I realize the difference between looking at people wearing bikinis on the beach vs people trying to see covered body parts while wearing more modest clothing. If it's about the yukata comment, my parenthetical comment was more like "why are the boys trying to sneak a look at her legs in this instance when they've been on full display a billion times."

Eh,
she's probably more resistant to getting into a romantic relationship with you than any other romanceable character. Falling for the guy that she was able to confide in and who basically saved her life and career isn't far-fetched.

It's done about as well as it could be without excluding the romance completely tbh. At least I liked it better than some of the confidant ending ranks (Haru...) where the game is basically telling you to feel like a shitty person fro turning her down lol

I also recommend watching the persona 3 movies even if you have no interest in that game.

ill give the game this. 41 hours in, im not feeling the burn at all so far. Loved Horizon, but at the 40 hour mark, man I was ready to be done with it. Zelda, kinda the same around the 50 mark (I finished it at about 65).

Maybe its the episodic nature of the story, it kinda feels like a anime season (which I understand might be an issue for some people with the "monster of the week" tv show style presentation) so every arc feels fresh. Also with the nature of the series itself, how you are always juggling different things on different days, it hasnt gotten old yet, im still excited to get back to it.

I'm honestly not sure anyone should watch the P3 movies without playing the game. The first one works, but the latter ones (especially movie 3) have really weird pacing and skip over or fast forward things in such a way that they don't seem very coherent if you don't know the story from the game.

Let me put it this way: i don't think I know a single woman in my life who hasn't, at some point in their existence, made real, actual countermeasures to being assaulted in their day-to-day life.

Compared to that 'normal', people complaining about feminazis ranks very low on my priority scale.

And yeah, that's dreadful. It's not fair, at all. And we should aim to stamp out male-on-female violence altogether. But treating all men as rapists or predators isn't the right way to go about that.

I'm not gonna be baited into calling them that, however radfems are more than just an annoyance now.

Why do you even feel that way lol

Sick of reading the phrase "there are too many men." Sick of the term "manspreading".Sick of 'ironic' misandry and being accused of 'fragile masculinity' for daring to object. It's insanity. And before I even hear the accusation flung my way, no, I think MRAs, PUAs and MGTOW are scum just as well

Sorry, shouldn't derail the persona thread like this...

I'll be doing this now, I've had P4G since launch and never touched it past 2 hours. The biggest issue I have is that it's on vita. I can't play 70-100 hour game on a vita and the fact buttons on vita are not as comfortable so pressing X to advance dialogue and select anything will be a pain. The other problem I have is the randomly generated dungeons...They have to become boring past 10 hours no?

they seem pretty fucking boring on the ER, which im watching at work when im not playing 5 at home. My life is Persona 24/7 lately.

I did a Google search and
age of consent starts at 13 (federal law) but depending on the prefecture it can go up to 18. I can't express out rage or even say that I'm bothered by this. Some cultures are just different. Consent = optional. There's places where once you reach certain ages it's not optional.

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.
Question on Mementos:

Is
One Who Bullies Bullies
missable? I'm looking for guys in front of the school gate to activate it and they're not there. I beat the
The Bark and Bite of a Bully
though.

Okumura's
Palace Question

I'm on my 2nd day here. I'm struggling to keep SP up and have basically hit a wall at the disposal line. I don't want to waste another day in here, but I feel like I can't get past the physical-resistant enemies. How long does the average person take in this palace?

They never bothered me much, I can see why they'd grate on other people but it never really was an issue. One thing you can do if you feel you're strong enough is ambush a shadow and immediately run. It takes a perk to do it in 5 but in 4 if you ambush you can run whenever.

It makes exploring a lot faster.

Post 5th Palace spoilers

Haru: my father died
Yusuke: ANYWAY we are receiving rude comments saying we are killers
Haru: did y'all kill my father
Makoto: oh exams are coming up next week
Haru: one of your calling cards were found in the principals office, did you all just murdered my father?
Ryuji: EXAMS?! Oh wow crap, dude the eff?
Haru:
Futaba: got to go, bye

She just doesn't feel like part of the group. Also, when she bring everyone to notDisneyland and everyone is having fun and she's just standing there next to the table lol

I did it all in one in-game day, but I also had a bunch of Invig 3 accessories.

They do get repetitive, yes. They don't particularly change much either - they just have different wallpaper and music each time.

You kind of just... put up with it.

If you really think they'll zap away the fun of the game, I imagine you could probably just turn the difficulty down and that would allow you to run through the dungeons quicker without worrying about being under-levelled.

Did you not have the SP regen accessories?

I had 3 of the level 3 ones and one of the level 2 ones on my party. It meant I could get through the entirety of that dungeon in one run.

No, the age of consent in Tokyo is 18.
Also,
the dialog literally had the chief saying it was illegal, and her saying "yup, who knows how many laws we're breaking."

The reason why I'm flabberghasted, though, is that
she is literally admitting to an actual crime just to cover up lying to her boss
