Poor Ragnar. It was hard to watch how he was beaten. At least he
wasn't bitten in the face by the snakes,
I was prepared to cover my face if that happened.

I want to watch Bjorn's adventures. Maybe the actor is not the best but I enjoy the aura of the character. I want him to be a badass.

But the one I'm most excited is Ivar. When they do a time-skip I hope they don't replace the actor, I kinda like him.

And Lagertha is meh, I wouldn't mind if she is killed
by Ivar
,

Even Ivars brothers are more convincing than Bjorn. Bjorn is the worst casting the show has ever had.

If Lagertha dies I might bail for real. It sucks how they ruined her character this season but she's still the only cool female character of the whole damn show. :( I wouldn't ever drop a show just for killing off a character, normally, but I might make an exception for Lagertha...

They absolutely didn't ruin her. Anyone who thought she would be OK with queen Asshole getting away with it didn't see what happened with earl Prettyboy.

Lagertha isn't in the forgetting or forgiving business.

I think its the timing of it and it being out of nowhere. I would have preferred having found out that Aslaug let her grandaughter die while she was getting dicked down be the trigger

Holy shit. This show is hit or miss, but that episode was fucking excellent television. That's how you kill your main character.

Hirst knows that the death of Ragnar will create a massive void in the narrative, so I highly doubt they're going to kill Lagertha off this season too. I imagine the rest of the cast will be safe for the foreseeable future - with the exception of Ecbert, who I definitely think will die by the end of the season.

I hope Ivar kills lagertha this week.

Me too, it's doubtful since she's a fan favorite (despite the writers clearly having no real idea of what to do with her for the past 3 seasons)

It seems really out of character for Ivar to NOT do something about it, but we'll see.

I also have a feeling another huge time jump is coming up.

Uh, it's the fact that she apparently waited 12-15 years (or however long the time jump was) which makes zero fucking sense.

Might this be a case of postponing lagertha's attack until the latter half of season 4 because they already had the filler that was the Asian lady?

Although, maybe it's just the perfect storm for Ivar because at any other point in time, perhaps he would have dealt with his mothers death in a different way? The timing is certainly convenient in that sense.

I really need to check this show out! My roommate's cousin is Lagertha and I hear she is a pretty well liked character.
That is very cool.
I hope Ivar kills lagertha this week.

Wait, they also killed ROLLO?
No.

Dude what are you talking about... Lagertha has never been the jealous type, and it's been like a decade since Aslaug married Ragnar. If Lagertha actually felt like she stole Ragnar from her, she would have dealt with it then and there. It makes zero sense why she'd wait all this time.

The writers fucked up, plain and simple. It's not consistent with her character in any way. It's not that she forgets and forgives, it's that she's stronger than that and doesn't give a fuck. That's why people like her, she goes and fucks who she wants and isn't petty about "stole my man" drama. Until now.

Exactly

Why does he wear the mask!?
Ivar apparently challenges her to single combat in the next episode

Winnick just shared it on Twitter

Caught up with season 4 in the last two weeks. It had its ups and downs. Gonna miss Ragnar, hopefully they won't make another huge time jump (at least not before the season's end), because I'm sick of them.

Agreed, makes no sense at all

I missed the spoiler, thankfully, but just the source and people discussing it can already have me speculating on what it was. :\

Just want to say thanks again Cornballer for being so good with spoilers in TV threads. Your work is greatly appreciated. <3

Your roommate's cousin is Katheryn Winnick? Pretty well liked is an understatement. She is the most powerful and most beautiful woman on TV right now.

Yeah haha, he went to hang with her in Ireland last year sometime. Hopefully she comes back to Toronto someone and I get to say hi! Her Ukrainian is much better than my roommates apparently

Yessss. She used to be awesome when they made her get over Ragnar and start doing her own shit but then they ruined her. What the heck did Aslaug deserve to be killed for when it was Ragnar who got with her? And she couldn't even do it by stealthily assassinating her, nope gotta kill my own people in masse while their soldiers are gone. And she damn shot her in the back when she was leaving. Kill Lagertha's ass and then introduce other women characters to fill the void.

Agreed with this.

Kind of ruins her character a bit and just seems petty.

The Ivar Lagertha exchange was a bit disappointing for me. A few nice things, but following last episode was going to be hard.

The sudden change in Floki, man, I don't know what to think.

Favorite part?
Odin
.

lol at the vikings landing in a Mediterranean market and immediately reaping havoc.

why dont the vikings have any chill

these guys have some impressive architecture. are they in spain?

lol it's their first time seeing mirrors isn't it?

Weird episode, the Mediterranean stuff was underwhelming and I really hope they dont to a Bjorn cheating on Torvi for the women he made eye contact with plot.

Ubbe is my favorite of the sons other than Bjorn but I just see him more as Lagerthas son

Are Bjorn and Torvi together? Isn't Bjorn married to another woman?

Episode was definitely weaker without Ragnar.

Wonder if Bjorn and the other brother will leave and head for England?

I hope they won't fuck up Floki's character too much. Other than that it was a good episode and it had a cool ending.
