Exciting. Sounds awesome!

Hopefully this is better than Cursed Child since she is penning these herself and these are actual books and not play adaptations.

We’ve learned so much more about the wizarding world this year already. There's the play and script book of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Parts One and Two, and soon there will be even more to discover when Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them lands in cinemas this November.

Now Pottermore is opening yet another door, with a new set of eBook shorts called Pottermore Presents.

Pottermore Presents is a series of bite-sized eBooks that dig deep into the Harry Potter stories, with titbits taken from Pottermore’s archives and original writing from J.K. Rowling. The series offers Harry Potter fans added insights into the stories, settings and characters and were all lovingly curated by Pottermore.

Pottermore Presents will be available from a wide range of digital eBook retailers around the world, officially released on 6 September in English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Dutch, Brazilian Portuguese and Spanish. You’ll also be able to purchase it right here on Pottermore.

Synopsis:

HOGWARTS: AN INCOMPLETE AND UNRELIABLE GUIDE

Hogwarts: An Incomplete and Unreliable Guide dives into the nooks and crannies of the beloved wizarding school itself, unfurling everything from details about the Hogwarts ghosts, to what happens when the Sorting Hat can’t decide on a student’s house.

Hogwarts An Incomplete and Unreliable Guide takes you on a journey to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. You’ll venture into the Hogwarts grounds, become better acquainted with its more permanent residents, learn more about lessons and discover secrets of the castle ... all at the turn of a page.

SHORT STORIES FROM HOGWARTS OF POWER, POLITICS AND PESKY POLTERGEISTS

Short Stories from Hogwarts of Power, Political and Pesky Poltergeists explores the darker roots of the wizarding world. You’ll learn more about the troubles that faced the Ministry of Magic, the horrors of Azkaban prison and enjoy an entirely new original piece of writing by J.K. Rowling on Horace Slughorn.

These stories of power, politics and pesky poltergeists give you a glimpse into the darker side of the wizarding world, revealing the ruthless roots of Professor Umbridge, the lowdown on the Ministers for Magic and the history of the wizarding prison Azkaban. You will also delve deeper into Horace Slughorn’s early years as Potions master at Hogwarts - and his acquaintance with one Tom Marvolo Riddle.

SHORT STORIES FROM HOGWARTS OF HEROISM, HARDSHIP AND DANGEROUS HOBBIES

Short Stories from Hogwarts of Heroism, Hardship and Dangerous Hobbies, Pottermore celebrates the colourful staff of Hogwarts. There’s more to discover about Care of Magical Creatures teacher Silvanus Kettleburn, as well as another new piece of writing from J.K. Rowling on Minerva McGonagall, and her involvement in the second wizarding war.

These stories of heroism, hardship and dangerous hobbies profile two of the Harry Potter stories’ most courageous and iconic characters: Minerva McGonagall and Remus Lupin. J.K. Rowling also gives us a peek behind the closed curtains of Sybill Trelawney’s life, and you’ll encounter the reckless, magical-beast-loving Silvanus Kettleburn along the way.

Up for preorder on Amazon US and Amazon UK.

I read the first 70 pages of the cursed child and I actually quite liked it tbh. That being said though, I hope she does another series of novels, hopefully about the founding of Hogwarts, i feel that would be interesting and far enough removed from the Potters to be different. Excuse my ignorance if there's already work on it as I've only seen the movies.

Eh, I'm betting they feel like fanfiction. Fans can tell from a mile away when releases feel obligatory.

Is it odd that I'd prefer to wait until all the Pottermore stuff is collected & printed up? I feel like I'd enjoy reading all the various shorts she's done on the site, but something about reading them digitally feels wrong.

Her Pottermore stuff has been great. Loved the Ilvermorny stuff.

Hopefully this is more of that and not the retconning awfullness of The Curse Child.

I want a Pottermore Collection with everything as a book, please. Those are the best Christmas presents
to myself
.

She should just write more books about the universe. She's obviously too attached to it to let go of it and so are most of the fans.

So is that Harry Potter encyclopedia thing still happening? I was really looking forward to that. These sound pretty cool though.

I love Pottermore.

My biggest complaint about the Harry Potter books was always that the mythology was a bit light. The world was established perfectly for the story she wanted to tell, but I always wanted a bit more. All this extra short writing is perfect for that.

I would like a series of novels set in Ilvermorny. The origin for that school is badass and that one girl that was accepted into all 4 houses must have been one hell of a wizard. I'd read her story.

These sound pretty cool actually, always thought the history and mechanics of the magical world were the most interesting part of the books, and they didn't get enough time devoted to them imo.

This honestly sounds kind of like what I wanted from the 'Encyclopedia' that never materialized.

in what way

Well It was good reading more Harry Potter. It was great seeing what became of the old gang and the world along with learning about Albus and Scorpius. Harry's relationship with Albus was interesting.

The alternate timelines were pretty screwed up especially the Voldermort one.
Do I wish the thing had been stretched out into a whole book and also had learned more about Harry's other kids, sure. I personally enjoyed the hell out of the Cursed Child.

Now what's the next step in your master plan?
Harry Potter must deal with his greatest foe yet, a wand that just won't work. He's tried pills, magic salves, all manner of spells but nothing will get Harry's wand to stand up and spit out magic. That's when he turns to the dark arts...

Too busy with Fantastic Beasts scripts. She's done a draft of the second film already though.
WB putting all the eggs in the basket (after BvS and SDQ). Already got a sequel in toe without any money in the bank or reviews. Really think their jumping the gun a little.

Really hope she makes another fantasy book enregardless of HP. Would love a new more mature world.

They need a new tentpole fast. Having Harry Potter for a decade really made them complacent.

Edited the OP.

Also lol at this already being at the top of the kindle store/amazon.
Are you surpised lol HP fever is always at top levels. They are hunger as fuck for more, J could be a trillionaire by decades end if she wanted.

That's how powerful HP is.

Good, I always want to know more about regular life at Hogwarts without impending doom at its door. The classes, the ghosts, the other superior houses like Ravenclaw.

I really want another good Hogwarts video game.

After Stranger Things shitty ass CG fuckfest? I can't imagine how bad they'd butcher Potter.
Pretty sure Stranger things didn't have a huge budget with 8 espiodes. Matter a fact we haven't seen a show with a huge budget on Netflix. Expect for maybe The Get Down but that is not the right genre. Also shitty cg fuck fest really lol?

You act like it was all over the place.

Wait, Rowling didn't write Cursed Child? I know the book was an adaptation from the play's script, but I thought she did write the actual play.
