Poor thing about pre-paid credit cards is that they do not show up on your credit history if you're looking to build your credit (same kinda thing with overdraft). If you're going that route, just use a visa debit card (most of the major financial institutions offer them now without an annual fee).

Edit: I guess BMO doesn't at this point, but I'm sure they will in the near future.

It's worthwhile to have even at this point without income. Just refrain from using it if you're scared of not being able to pay it off. It's better to use it slightly every month to ensure credit activity, but not using it and creating a history with credit is still beneficial. I've seen people even just apply for the credit card, get approved, and then cut the bastard up to ensure they don't use it.

The big thing is that when you're nearing that 30 mark and say you want to make a big purchase (car, mortgage, etc.) and they try to pull your credit history and all they see is an address and no credit score, it's very difficult to move forward.

I'm kind of just rambling at this point, just know that the pros tend to outweigh the cons with a credit card when used in the right way. Credit cards are still terrifying because they can trap people in with those atrocious interest rates, but it's the best stepping stone to build ones credit when approached correctly.

I wanted to wait until I got on disability, and that will hopefully be soon. I just want to build up good credit, by buying a pack of gum or something and paying it off immediately, just in case.

It'll be nice to have, but I hardly ever order anything.
 
Yeah if you're expecting stable income from that coming soon, that would help your application. And that's the best way to go about it to, small purchases and paying things off.
 
Does anyone think Nitroplus Blasterz will be hard to find post release? I'm thinking about cancelling mine. I don't need to play it day 1 but if it'll be a headache to get a month or two after release, I might just keep my preorder.
 
So now that Best Buy has dropped the price of TPHD, will they apply the 30% discount to the 79.99 price? Or do I have to talk to customer service?

They should apply it. I had to talk to CSR because my 30% discount was manually adjusted in the price. So I had to get it readjusted (the hoops I had to jump through...)
 
Maybe I should buy a new TV soon or sell my credit to someone. I don't know who, though. But I don't want to get stuck with credit when the store goes into receivership and stops taking it.

Of course, this is all hypothetical.
 
I want that Pokemon New 3DS... I wish it came with Yellow. I literally had a similar dream about this system like I did when Pokemon first came out. When I woke up from that dream I was pissed my family wouldn't buy me it. Now I'm pissed I can't order with my own money. Life never changes.

Yup I just talked to a very helpful CS over the phone at first she said I could only do it within 30 days of purchase then she noticed it was a pre-order and did it right away for me.

So i'll be paying $55.99 for my copy and couldn't be happier.
 
For me, it'd be between The Big Short, The Revenant, The Forest (I'm a horror movie sucker, even though most modern ones aren't very good. I enjoy watching them in theatres) and The Hateful Eight. But I'm not as keen on Tarantino's newer movies as his older stuff.
 
For those Amazon 30% orders? The last one that happened, was it preorder 2 games or 3 games?

I have RE HD Collection + the 2 Fire Emblems in the order, I want to cancel RE but can't remember it was 2 or 3.

This was with Best Buy right? You pre-ordered Twilight Princess HD at $99 when the pre-order 2 games and get 30% off deal was on correct? What did you say to the rep when you called?
 
Asked CS to combine order and they had to adjust it manually. Not sure what happened but I ended up with:

I think it was 20% for 2 and 30% for 3 or more.

I started off saying I would like to get an adjustment to one of my orders and saying I ordered this game at $99 with a 30% off AFTER they increased the original price from $79.99. The item has now dropped back to $79.99 and would like to get my order to reflect this change. I think the person I talked to was named Jen or or Jan if that helps at all.

And yes it was the cyber monday preorder 2 get 30% off. I had about 5 items in the order.

Just get a secured credit card. Save up for the deposit then you'll build credit quickly.
 
Lol I'm trying to show that screenshot of Star Ocean/Nier to Amazon but can't paste links, they say it's blank. Maybe images are blocked now.

Just got off the phone with them. No dice for my order. The rep checked with a supervisor and said they cannot do that as it was a promotional offer for that price point only.

Kind of want Nights of Azure but even with 30% it's too expensive now, if I replace the game how do I know if the 30% applies to it though? Nothing else I really want that I didn't preorder yet I think.

Since I'm doing amazon stuff, trying to cancel my extra FE copies (from another order) again.

I don't want to pay for 4 copies in February.
 
I've been cancelling a bunch of Fire Emblem SE preorders. I got rid off 2. Especially the gamestop US one. With the CAD value right now I don't want to pay 200$ for it on top of the import tax from UPS. Still have my BB and Amazon.ca orders.

Does anyone know how to transfer funds from one prepaid credit card to another? I got one prepaid Mastercard for Christmas and I randomly stumbled upon an unused prepaid American Express card. I want to use both on one purchase from Amazon.ca.

The usual...I hate trying to cancel stuff with that error, it's actually worse to have one large order due to this error.

This happened to me. I wanted the whole shipment cancelled though so I just deleted the address from the address book so the shipment is permanently Frozen lol.
