Druckmann on Half-Life

Nah give it to telltale instead

What? No I'd well... better than nothing I suppose. But I'd rather Valve just make it one of their short movies like the bread TF2 movie than deal with Telltale glitchy episodic games.

I'd take ND Half Life episode 3. I'd take whoever makes Portal version of half Life episode 3. I remember hoping Half Life e3 would revolve around portal in the world, to be the new gadget that replaces gravity gun.

Hell yes. Many of the things I love about HL2 are also elements that ND excels at imo. And looking at TLOU, I can totally see them nailing the atmosphere, plot and pacing.

Naughty Dog can't touch Valve's characterization.

Gordon is so charismatic that Alyx instantly falls in love with him. It's so compelling, their relationship. Like when she gives Gordon her gravity gun, it signifies giving herself to him. Highly erotic.

Naughty Dog can't touch Valve. If Half Life released in 2013, it'd still be GOTY over TLOU.

Just getting that out of the way since I know that's what this thread will devolve into.

And Alyx is such a great, non-sexualized female character.
What's Naughty Dog's effort? Coco Bandicoot? Fuck outta here with that shit.

I stopped caring about Half-Life long ago. It was innovative at the time, but I see little special in it now, and it has the most ridiculous and uncharismatic lead character I've ever seen in a game. I'd much rather ND work on something good, something their own.

I would have cared about HL if they released a new game or a new episode maybe 5 years ago. Stopped caring.

What if Uncharted 4 IS Half-Life 3?

You trust Valve in 2015? I do not.

Lord Druckmann on the other hand would do the franchise justice.

Not that ND will do HL3 but they'd do their own take on it and it would likely be a good game that pisses off a certain percentage of Half-Life fans just because it wasn't from Valve.

Come on guys. Druckmann knows he is a prominent figure in the industry and that his comments carry weight. Enough so that it my actually help result in Valve getting off their backsides and making HL3 for us.

He knows that there is no way in hell Valve would ever even consider this but ultimately it may help us actually get HL 3. Even a small sliver of determination from Valve to make this game is a good thing and if comments like this spark that then keep em coming.

Well congratulations! You got yourself caught!
The source engine isn't capable enough to handle the number of enemies Druckmann would force Gordon freeman to murder.

Alyx is a lady who does cool stuff. But she isn't particularly interesting a character. Actually, she's hobbled by her inexplicable attachment to Gordon, who is a mute avatar.

What other devs aside from ND could take over? I think giving the series to Miyazaki and making it have a more Dark Soul-y feel would be the right move.

Half-Life would've been a completely different game in 2013 than what we got, given if Valve had developed as a company like it has. For a lot of reasons I would be very worried about Half-Life 3 if it had happened, since I really doubt Valve in its current state would've delivered the same or better quality than its predecessors.

it would be cute for gordon freeman to be walking around making puns about the things he sees in the environment and touching every wall he walks past
