A Naughty Dog game is better than no game. At this point, I don't think Valve has the development talent left to make a great story-driven shooter.

At this point I don't see anyone making a half life 3 that will meet fan expectation. Honestly, you've got to figure that's why Valve themselves don't even want to take a crack at it. Half Life 2 was revolutionary. It's become increasingly difficult to do something innovative in the FPS space let alone revolutionary.
