XSX you might one day upgrade and even if you don't you will get all of the next gen features in every game unlike XSS.
You shouldn't take what has come out as a good indication of what's going to happen.
WE still are in a transition phase and I look at what devs historically did when they got a less powerful console in their hand to take care of.
The answer to that is: they cut corners, load of them.
It doesn't matter if there isn't a lot of difference now.
In 5-6 years at the end of console cycle, it will be the difference between the game running or running like shit. See Cyberpunk 2077...
But then he'd have 1.5 TB space anyway... it's not like the console SSD deletes from reality when you by the expansion lolLemme do the math XSS + 1TB SSD = 510USD
XSX = 499USD
Easiest choice.
No but 1.5TB with much lower specs, which I don't thing it's worth it and let be honest XSS SSD is for 3 bigger games, in this day and age, I feel like if the XSX would be more expensive it would not be simple like this, but in this situation it is. But maybe that's just me.But then he'd have 1.5 TB space anyway... it's not like the console SSD deletes from reality when you by the expansion lol
However, my prediction is that throughout the generation Xbox series S will fall into obscurity.
Agree.I would never recommend an S to anyone.
I do. Dont get me wrong. Its small, super quiet and super cheap. I got 20% off through a friend’s staff discount. Its just that i had an x1x before so a lot of my bc games are downgraded. I intend to get a series x eventually to replace it.Don't you like the S?
Is the Series S seriously that bad? If you have PS5 as your main console, I don't think S is a bad complement to it. It's essentially a Game Pass machine, which is what OP seemed to be looking for in their post. Just exclusives and not discs.Anyone suggesting you get the S doesn't have your best interests at heart.
Get the X.
Then let's just save the games in an external disc or ssd if we want to play them again and are not playing them too frequently, what's wrong with that? You can't even have that option in the PS5.No but 1.5TB with much lower specs, which I don't thing it's worth it and let be honest XSS SSD is for 3 bigger games, in this day and age, I feel like if the XSX would be more expensive it would not be simple like this, but in this situation it is. I honestly was considering the S myself eventually. I am not a person that cares too greatly over graphics, though.
1080p is fine for me, I still haven't jumped on the 4K train just yet. Although I would like to eventually. It's not bad, just a matter of whether you want/need 4K. Sounds like it would be good enough for you since you don't care much about graphics. I have a PS5 and went with an XSX. Even as a Gamepass machine I still want the best (and 4K) version of their exclusives and any other AAA games. I've also just ended up preferring going to back to gaming with my Xbox One Elite controller to the Dual Sense and like the Xbox UI better so I'll probably end up with the XSX being my main and PS5 mostly for exlclusives and online games I want to play with PS only friends. So I'm definitely glad I spent the extra money and went with the X.
S is totally fine and a nice option for people who are fine with 1080p overall or on their secondary console. Even more so if one's on a tight budget. So not knocking it at all. Just not for me or anyone else who does care about graphics and want 4k etc. even for their secondary console.
Ok, I already own a PS5 and PS is always my main console for multi platform titles alike. But I also like Xbox for some of the exclusive titles it offers, it has Game pass which is also great. I'm not that bothered about building up a maasive physical games collection, I do own a 4k TV though.
Anyhoo.. series X or S what do yoi think would suit me best?
I’ve said this here before and was challenged to a duel.Anyone suggesting you get the S doesn't have your best interests at heart.
Get the X.
We all would have been better off if the S didn't exist at all.

Not true. Very useful for those with 1080p tv's, smaller tv's, or a limited budget. Your statement is flat out wrong.
This add a poll OPneeds a poll
honestly there's no reason not to go with the X over the S if you can afford it especially if you have a 4K TV
Game makers will always have to account for the least common denominator. The S is, by far, the LCD of the new generation. No one can make games for the Series X, unless the game is also designed to run on the S. That sucks.
You're flat out wrong.
Anyone that says S over X should be exiled, of course X.
1TB vs 512GB
1TB external SSD = boom you are now at $520 vs XSX at $500.
Oh ya, your right, game developers certainly don't already have to account for multiple lower end pc configurations at all. Please.
This includes many first party xbox games - you know, the company that makes the sells the series s and x. So no, your still wrong.
We may even see many games developed by multiplatform developers for the next 2 or 3 years support the ps4 and xbox one........
Of course the storage space arguement goes out the window in some cases, where the user won't have more than a few games on it at a time anyhow. Very likely for a buyer like this who uses a ps5 for most games.
While true, I’d be wary about assuming one will end up using PS5 for most games even if they go in with that intent.Of course the storage space arguement goes out the window in some cases, where the user won't have more than a few games on it at a time anyhow.
