Xbox architect on ray tracing: 'developers still want to use traditional rendering techniques without a performance penalty'

So, you can't spot the stuff you supposedly work on, you spread around misinformation and sometimes outright false statements and yet demand respect?

Your supposed CV just doesn't match the...quality of your posts, Mr. Horizon Zero Dawn on PC looks better than Forbidden West on PS5.

If you want respect, earn it.

Please tell me he didn’t actually say that in a manner that wasn’t a blatant joke...

So you're assuming? That's alot to just say you expect it does. Cool, I disagree 🤷🏾‍♂️

the Ps5 has RT acceleration that has been commented many times(I actually pasted a link) that is not an assumption is you who are assuming it doesn't when in fact you can read about it, also we knew XBSX has RT acceleration but now we know is using hardware for the intersection part wich is good since its the most expensive part of RT and the rest is made in shaders wich is ok since the fragment/pixel shader is the one that actually draw the color of the pixels in the triangles but that is very different than "dedicated RT cores that can run in parallel without as much help" so you assumed wrong about RT in XBSX and what it do

"We've added hardware embedded in the compute units," says Grossman, "to perform intersections of rays with acceleration structures that represent the scene geometry hierarchy. That's a sizeable fraction of the specialised ray tracing workload, the rest can be performed with good quality and good real-time performance with the baseline shader and memory design."

OK. Guys, you are showing me games that are going to support ray-tracing on ALL platforms. You can't list games for all platforms as a means of saying "several games coming for the PS5 and hardly any for XSX". That's a misrepresentation of the truth.

So far you've proven just 4 exclusive PS5 games.

1) GT7
2) Demon Souls
3) Spiderman
4) R&C

What other exclusives are ONLY coming to PS5 with RT?

You are choosing to die on a hill that's not worth it. You've been caught stating things that are not true about ps5 exclusives. Accept it and move on.

Because if early games can use RT, it means RT is readily available and will be used. Which means attempting to dig in will only result in more examples showing up later down the road.

If you continue down this road, people will be quoting this in the future EVERYTIME you attempt to talk from a position of authority.

None of the games you mentioned have announced support for ray-tracing except MM. And even that was a cutscene or photomode shot. R&C didn't show any RT. Neither did HFW or DS.

We'll get more ray-tracing from 3rd parties than first parties simply because there are more 3rd party companies out there.
Is this a joke post? In case it isnt (can't tell these days)
RatchetnClank had Ray-Trace reflections throughout the demo. The reflections on the floor in that space air port was not screen space reflections, it was R.T. Also the reflection of the green blasts on the floor when he is shooting the dogs near the end of the demo. Also keep in mind that demo was Pre-Alpha.

GT7- had R.T. reflections on the cars, you can clearly see that in the beginning when he entered the tunnel and the lights were reflecting off that Aston Martin.
P.D. announced they were creating their own R.T. technology over a year ago.

Yea if you read back, I was corrected on the number of PS5 games that uses RT. Most sensible people have moved beyond the correction and got back on subject. But of course there will be some Sony gamers that want to keep hammering the nail to no avail. It was an oversight - was corrected and should be forgotten.
